  1. The lastfoul on Davis was crap, but they are shooting lights out so it doesn't really matter
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) I think corrupt politicians are the worst people on Earth, behind only serial rapists and murderers. They f*** over large groups of people, and usually it's their day-in/day-out activity. This. I was hoping for 25+...to the point where Blago was going to die in prison and miss out on his children's lives. Being the governor of the State shouldn't be viewed as just some other job. This is especially true in Illinois, where corruption is now just considered the norm.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) And yet somehow a ref just called a foul on Illinois. (sorry, old, but still bitter college bball rant) Lol, yeah f*** that game.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) “Since the NBA purchased the New Orleans Hornets, final responsibility for significant management decisions lies with the Commissioner's Office in consultation with team chairman Jac Sperling. All decisions are made on the basis of what is in the best interests of the Hornets. In the case of the trade proposal that was made to the Hornets for Chris Paul, we decided, free from the influence of other NBA owners, that the team was better served with Chris in a Hornets uniform than by the outcome of the terms of that trade.” David Stern statement. Translation: How the hell are we supposed to sell this franchise for top dollar without Chris Paul, or the possibility of Chris Paul sticking around?
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Yeah, it started with the Olympics. But again, that was a player (Wade) courting a player (LeBron). I bet that tampering stuff happens all the time. You just can't be obvious about it....like having a dinner meeting between an owner and a player.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Isn't what Miami/Wade did with LBJ tampering?Miami didn't get nailed for that, what's to stop other teams from doing that? LBJ was a free agent.
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) They really just have the MLE. They're $3.5 million over the cap, so they'd have to cut $8.5 million or so off their total or so just to be able to offer the same contract as with the MLE. Even if they amnesty'd Boozer, they'd have just under $10 mil in space (and have to fill two holes instead of one). Wonder if anyone would bite on a Gibson/Korver, Gibson/Brewer or Gibson/Bogans deal.
  8. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) What more could the Bulls have done? They made possibly the best offer of any team for Howard. Howard just doesn't want Chicago. That sucks, but it isn't the fault of management. Jason Richardson is still out there. Rip Hamilton still might be amnestied. Hell, even Jamal Crawford is still out there. Even a pipe dream like Afflalo or Nick Young (no chance of either signing here affordably) hasn't signed yet. The fact that the Bulls didn't pay $8M per year for Caron Butler is smart. The fact that Bradon Roy is retiring is a good thing for the Bulls. What more would you have had them do? It's just a feeling that the Bulls are ultimately going to end up with a VC type player, someone who ultimately is going to be a big waste of money and not really help this team at all. For those that know the Bulls cap numbers better than I, what would it take to be able to sign a guy like Affalo or Young? Can they not move around some of the reserve guys to get some more money freed up?
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Well, my point still stands. he'll walk at the end of the year and sign with somebody else. But the prospective from the various owners (who all own the Hornets and have to pay the salaries going forward) is that they just got dooped into accepting an extra 50+ million in salaries over the next few years, all while one other owner gets one of the best pg's in the game and saves something like 40 million under the cap. Simmons made fun of the Gilbert email. Except for the Washington General line (which I get his point and kind of agree), he made a solid case. This isn't just some fair deal with players. It's taking advantage of a situation that the whole lockout was trying to avoid.
  10. LOL, the NBA is such a joke. Also, f*** the Bulls for not making a splash. So content about "team" and "chemistry" and all that bulls*** that is great. Too bad the ceiling for those teams isn't close to the ceiling of teams with 2-3 superstars. We better hope that Rose becomes the next MJ. Otherwise we're a good playoff team without a real shot at a title.
  11. Newt all the way. I think he's the only capable GOP candidate that can bridge the gap between crazy fringe GOP'ers and liberals to get into a more 1990's era Washington, which yeah, had it's problems, but not anything like we have now in terms of functioning government.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) All of the reporters that wrote a watch out for Illinois article this week were on the edge of their seats for awhile there. Meyers with 9 points and 8 boards, not a good performance for him after people were calling him a breakout star this week. I didnt watch the whole game, how many touches did he get? Until they start playing through arguably their most talented player, they are going to struggle if they cant shoot from distance. Pretty sure he ended up shooting 4 for 4. He got doubled everytime and the guards couldn't capitalize
  13. Well, a good terrible win here. This is a loss last year
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) Why has his cold shooting team taken over 60% of their shots from behind the arc? cuz im sure he's telling them to not get the ball in the paint
  15. Gottlieb is terrible. He doesnt know Paul from Richardson
  16. It really is. If Illinois could buy a bucket it wouldn't be a game
  17. This team does have running backs right?
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) That's getting it done right there. Nice game. However Griffey please stop chucking threes. He only took three, i'm fine with that. Normally he's good for one a game. Great win. This is starting to look a pretty good team. They're not going to run you out of the gym, but they never give up and they continue making plays. So far I think every run another team has had they've met and overcome, a very good sign. Also, while I love Leonard's potential (15 foot fadeaways from a 7'1" guy, seriously?), he needs to get his head out of his ass and just play the game. He's far too concerned with the refs or showboating to the crowd. It's becoming a trend in just about every game so far.
  19. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) Yeah, and the carriers and the vendor of the software are justifying it saying it doesn't track and transmit things like contents of text messages. It's on every iPhone for now, pre 4S, I believe. It's just not right with Facebook getting that 20 year audit and things such as this for these smartphones. There needs to be more privacy laws that require these vendors to disclose what information these vendors have access to and prevent invasions of privacy. We will just hear how legislation is always behind technology though. The problem is they can easily add that in the license/usage agreements, but they're so long and full of legalese that no one reads it. http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/3827...ss-casual-g-men So, even if they do track all my stuff, i'm pumped to receive my Droid Razr today. A whopping 1 cent I paid for it. It'll be my first android based device (apple whore for the last 4 years), so i'm excited to mess around with it all weekend.
  20. Just watched some clips of Game 1 of the ECF. Man that was a great game, capped with those two Gibson dunks. Sigh...
