  1. It's like watching two JV teams. You keep hoping someone will make a big play, but you know it's just not going to happen. Thank God the Bulls are on.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 04:09 PM) After hearing Brad Biggs on Mully and Hanley this morning, I texted the exact same thing to my buddy. And really, the bears painted themselves into a corner with this exact scenario by declaring Lovie untouchable and also promoting Tice to OC and planning to hire a QB coach/passing game coordinator this week. Basically the Bears have told any incoming GM, "we are giving Lovie this year to win, if he doesnt he is gone". What is the point in putting your name on that mess right now? Just let whatever happens, happen. If the Bears fall off a cliff, then the entire front office through the coaching staff are canned and someone gets to come in to do whatever they want. Or, Ruskell comes in, does a good job patching holes, and the Bears compete and everyone gets extended. Either way, Ted Phillips made a horrible decision and told the world about it when he said Lovie was staying and now the Bears job is not very desirable considering the circumstances and the alternatives. It is a GM job, so it is desirable and will be filled, but probably not in the way we fans think it should be. So f***ing dumb. This Bears organization is run by idiots. I don't understand how this franchise has managed to win only one "championship" in the last 48 years.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) I am forced to like and root for Tebow because everyone else hates him. I am the exact same way. His flaws are entirely obvious. But the fact that he continues to prove his doubters wrong makes me root for him. I'm not a fan of his so much as i'm a fan of the whole wildcard storylines he creates. He makes the last 6 minutes of boring football games interesting (though this Steelers game was one of the few that was exciting throughout).
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) And the reason why this particular 3rd string QB had to be decided immediately on whether he was worth keeping or not was...? He wasn't going anywhere, he doesn't have any options that need picked up in the next couple years, he wasn't going to be cut, they were already out of position for Luck...there's no legitimate football-related reason why that player needed to be evaluated immediately, especially following an offseason where he didn't get the coaching he needed to try to grow as a passer. Um, weren't the Broncos 1-4 when Tebow was handed the reigns? And a terrible 1-4 at that? They were not out of the Luck race. So it would make sense that the Broncos needed to know if Tebow was an option for the future or if they would have to draft a QB.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) So that's why Caleb Hanie struggled so much in that small 4-game stretch. It's not that he is bad at football, he just needs consistent playing time to develop into a good QB. I'm sure someone will give him that chance. 16-32 times! Also all of the negativity about Tebow this year and his future potential isn't fair because he should be evaluated over the course of 16-32 games too.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) He's played 14 games in his career. In both 2008 and 2009, he was given 3 games where he had a solid first game but then struggled, and was sent to the bench after 2 poor performances. The Browns won one of those games in 2008 in spite of him, but they benched him anyway. And in 2009-2010 he played in 10 games, had 8 td's and 10 turnovers and a 67 QB rating. He was then traded by the franchise that drafted him. I'm sure he'll be a pro-bowler soon.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) The Broncos had 3 s***ty QBs. s***ty QB 1 failed, which left them with 2 options: s***ty QB 2 and s***ty QB 3 who also happens to have a massive following because he thanks jebus after winning football games. Which would you start? And if he was clearly their best option all along, why was he slotted as a 3rd stringer? Claiming that his religous cult following crap had NOTHING to do with him playing is what's ridiculous. I probably would have stuck with Orton honestly. The season was lost, let him finish it out. Tebow clearly wasn't ready yet, and Quinn just flat out sucks. But Tebow would have been my next choice because I would want to see if he's got any future with the organization. I wouldn't keep him in the organization for 3-4 years without knowing if he could step in an play if my #1 goes down.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) Because Brady Quinn is bad at football? And that fact was proven over 2-3 seasons.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) Where did he mention Christian in there? Are you denying the fact that Tebow has a ridiculous following? (no matter what the reason is behind it) Tebow began starting for the Broncos not because of any skills he might have, but because his fanbase loves him for being Christian. That apparently is the ONLY reason he started to play. That's 100% ridiculous. There's a very logical reason he started to play - they sucked and the year was lost and they wanted to find out what they had.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) But the only reason he get's this ridiculous amount of attention is due to jahova god almighty. Only reason. My theory still holds, he's a mobile Rex Grossman with a s***tier arm. He gets attention for that, sure. But if he was just an average QB at Florida he wouldn't have gotten the attention solely because he loves him some Jesus.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) And you don't think that "Having an incredibly devoted fanbase who won't stop asking about him and who makes it incredibly profitable to give him a chance" plays into that? Lol, another Christian conspiracy. I love it. And no, your opinion here is absolutely, 100% ridiculous. The Broncos made a franchise decision to play an untested guy after their season was lost over a career back-up who failed as a starter for Cleveland. The rest is history.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) You put this on Facebook in the morning. Not only am I calling BS on this...but I'm goign to ask in reply, where would his career be if he thanked Allah after winning a game at Florida? I'd say 5th round pick, practice squad somewhere. Probably true. Definitely not true. He wasn't drafted because he loves Jesus. He was drafted because some coach sold a franchise on the idea that he could do something at the QB position that other guys couldn't. So far he's been proven right.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) I'm not sure if I want to tell you that I love the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series or that I hate it. It's frustrating as hell. I'm halfway through book three and have been for about 2 months. He decided to focus on characters and storylines I just don't care for. I find myself always skimming ahead to see how much more I have to get through to get to a section I care about. 'Ugh, 60 more pages until more Tyrion....maybe tomorrow."

QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 07:39 AM) As much as people on this board have maligned Season 2 of The Walking Dead (and rightly so) i found this......... includes a letter from Frank Darabont and an interview with Sam Witwer. The interview was especially telling as he talks about how Season 2 opener was going to be (awesome!!!). It does make me hate AMC that much more....... Ain't it cool news--TWD That would have given the whole Dale/Andrea relationship a much-needed explanation.
  15. So, what's going on with Wisconsin? I thought they were right behind OSU for best in the conference?
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) Hightower refing Illini game. This board will blow up. He is awful
  17. Chris Broussard is the weirdest looking and sounding guy on TV. None of his features or sounds seem to fit together.
  18. Kyle Korver, welcome to the 2011-2012 season!

So, based on the recommendations here on the board, I gave Blue Mountain State a shot. About ten episodes in I think i'm done. Too many sophomoric jokes. It was funny the first few episodes, but the sex/poop jokes have gotten old. Does it get any different going forward?
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) dancers. backroom floor scrubbers
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) That quote was talking about software, not unopened dvds. I'd be hard pressed to find a place that happily lets customers return open software. That's been the norm for ages. That article about the fall of Best Buy was just b****ing about bad customer service. Next article that guy writes should be about the demise of Wal-Mart then. What an asshat. And I agree about the 0%. Also, is Amazon going to be able to show me the picture quality of HD televisions? There's no way I'd buy a tv online without seeing it vs at Best Buy who will pricematch anyway. That article was s***. You could always go to the store, find the model you like and then buy it on Amazon. But really the checking it out in the store is kind of worthless. They jack up the picture settings so much that it's totally different once you get it home.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) Zelda Skyward Sword is pretty damn fun. I started last night and played for about an hour. Good God is it slow. This might be the last Zelda title for me.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) The issue is the business model no longer works. We can buy online for cheaper. Most of Best Buy's profits come from extended warranties, which no one buys anymore because new technology is always out to replace what you have when it breaks. That and the $100 monster cable that's exactly the same quality as the $5 dollar one you can buy online. I lived at Best Buy for the better part of my high school and freshman year of college (1996-2001). I bought everything there. Then I found Ebay and Amazon and other various online stores. The only thing I've purchased at Best Buy since are video games and consoles that are the same price anywhere you go.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) Agreed about Korver. He is playing so terribly right now and not hitting his 3s, so at this point, i'd rather have someone who can play D and help run the offense. I would play him extended minutes in blow out games so he can start hitting some shots. He needs to get hot, that would take the 2nd unit to another level, especially with Watson out.
