  1. Re: starting rotation. First decision they have to make is whether to offer Giolito a contract or let him walk. I’m not sure he’s worth the $10M contract he’s going to get thru arbitration.
  2. We can play the what if game all day. What if Kopech and Lynn never got hurt? The bottom line is the starting rotation has been above average (it’s better than Cleveland’s in fact).
  3. Despite all of that they are #6 in the AL (#12 overall) in fWAR for starting pitchers. The rotation hasn’t been the issue this season imo.
  4. At the right price, I wouldn’t mind it. Both have played their asses off for this team.
  5. He’s injured. Shouldn’t be playing.
  6. Despite injuries, their starting rotation has been above average. That’s not an area I’m looking to add to this offseason outside of cheap depth pieces similar to Cueto and Velazquez like this season.
  7. Do you really think starting pitching has been the issue this season? Come on man
  8. All I know is Martin has been super impressive this season despite a s%*# defense, and I’m slotting him in as the #5 next season.
  9. Cleveland actually has 5 games in 4 days against Minnesota. If the Sox can take 2/3 vs Detroit and Minnesota takes 3/5, Sox are two games back heading into next week’s series. Still think they are going to need to sweep Cleveland.
  10. 11-7 should still do it BUT I think that now needs to include a 3 game sweep of Cleveland next week so that the Sox own the head to head tiebreaker. I don’t think 2/3 will be enough since that would still give the Guardians a 1 game season series edge and tiebreaker (damn Josh Naylor game).
  11. I’m actually going in the other direction. I’m looking to move Timmy this offseason while he still has value. This has nothing to do with Andrus. My issue with Timmy is he’s a free agent in a couple years and is going to want a mega contract, which I don’t think he will be worth it. His defense at shortstop has been very sporadic this season, he gets hurt often, and it seems his power is declining. I’d look to move him for pitching and plug in Mendick/Romy/whoever as a stopgap SS next year until Montgomery is (hopefully) ready in 2024.
  12. 14-9, keep it rollin
  13. The Braves had a .547 winning percentage in a s%*# division last season (it was just as bad as the ALC this season). They played .500 baseball until mid August. That regular season sounds awfully similar to the White Sox season “if” the Sox can reach 85 wins and a division crown in 3.5 weeks.
  14. What you just described is the 2021 Atlanta Braves. Pretty sure their fans enjoyed last season more than the dominant late 90s teams that fell short of a title.
  15. 15-9 (yes, I’m already giving them the win tonight) Cleveland starts a stretch tomorrow of 18 games in 17 days with no off days. Things could get very interesting over the next couple weeks.
  16. Apparently he was offered 2 years/$30M by the Astros. That’s too rich for my blood for a big question mark coming off a missed season. I think Nimmo is a far better fit bit highly doubt the Sox are in the running for him. I think it’s Colas or bust next season and beyond.
  17. I thought you were a Conforto guy?
  18. Eh, if the Sox and Twins take care of business against the Guardians it’s very likely the Guardians finish one game under .500 the rest of the way.
  19. 16-9, let’s go
  20. Because my view of offseason acquisitions was based upon the premise that they were new to the White Sox in 2022. I didn’t include Leury or anyone else that was already on the roster in 2021 regardless of their contract status (free agent, arb eligible, etc).
  21. The Sox could have decided not to bring Giolito just as easily as Leury. Would have cost them $0 to let him walk. Neither was under contract until they offered them a contract for this season. Do you disagree?
