  1. But if he makes just 25 starts as many are suggesting, the Sox might not make the playoffs. I’ll say it again, I’ll be shocked if he only makes 25 starts if he’s healthy.
  2. I’d be shocked if they skip his turn in the rotation 7 times if he’s healthy.
  3. Many were arguing before the season that there was no way he’d exceed 110 or 120 innings in the regular season. I argued that he would. Are they going to shut him down in August/September with a playoff spot on the line?
  4. Kopech currently on pace for 168 innings this season. Told you he wasn’t going to be limited to 110 innings or whatever was being discussed before the season started.
  5. The conglomerate of Keuchel, Velasquez, Cueto and Davis have combined for a 4.27 ERA this season. Very respectable for #4/5 starters in your rotation. And when Lynn returns, you gotta keep Cueto in the rotation. Davis becomes terrific AAA depth and I guess Keuchel and Velazquez become long relievers. Barring injuries, the starting rotation is the least of my concerns with this team.
  6. Sox have too much starting pitching now. Can they trade one of these guys for a hitter?
  7. I remember way back when in mid April when a bunch of people were like the AL Central has really improved, the Royals and Tigers are a lot better, etc. No, this division still sucks. The Sox have played shitty and are still 1 game over .500 and 2.5 games out of first place. Everyone just needs to relax.
  8. I just noticed Rodon’s ERA is up to 3.49. I guess one really bad start will do that to you. Giants sure haven’t been babying him at all as he’s #12 in most pitches thrown in MLB thus far. Wonder if he’ll hold up this year unlike last year. Not even Memorial Day yet so we’ll find out over the next couple months how that’s looking.
  9. I picked up on it during his first season with the Sox. Grandal calls a terrible game, especially late in games with runners on, and I think it’s because he doesn’t trust his glove, he’s scared. He’s the most overrated defensive catcher I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure there’s another player that fools advanced metrics more than him. It seems other fans are starting to come around on this now as well. It’s why I’ve said I never want to see him as the starting catcher in a playoff game ever again. The Dodgers learned this pretty quickly.
  10. https://mobile.twitter.com/ckamka/status/1526020826637672450?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet ?
  11. I said it a week ago. Twins going to have a Sox April in May.
  12. Nah. Twins rotation doesn’t match up with the Sox. Sox have a top 3 rotation in baseball when healthy while the twins will be lucky to be top 15. Also, the Sox have a better everyday lineup than the Twins. The Twins fade has already begun. I would be surprised if the Sox aren’t in first place by 5+ games at the all star break.
  13. Using the term bailed out implies they benefitted from a wrong call. A better way of saying it would be New York got it right and it never should have even gone to replay in the first place if the umps got it right on the field.
  14. He can’t help you if he can’t stay on the field and he certainly hasn’t stayed on the field much these last few years..
  15. Luis Robert has played in more games than Byron Buxton this season. https://mobile.twitter.com/PhilMackey/status/1524196311850913793
  16. Too bad for the epic collapse last night otherwise this would be 8 in a row
  17. Tip your cap to Naylor but never should have been in that position. Had several opportunities to close it out.
