Ahh, nice. That is encouraging to hear. After the Clark, Leyritz, Simonetti and IG stuff I was pretty much ready to hear the final news and be disappointed. Beef boy and recent reports have given me hope again.

Did Dave say recently that he likes the Sox chances?

Social media is the way of the world now and it’s why you see bloggers breaking news and Cuban baseball players dropping hints to where they will sign with an IG pic, ala Luis Robert.

Rumor is Machado is also following Guy Fieri on IG hinting that he may be heading to Flavor Town.

What I said was those who don’t believe Clark’s words yet will standby WSD report. If you don’t believe Clark it’s whatever. I am not making fun of that. I would expect it to be a polarizing rumor.

I enjoy the off season and all of its rumors and reports. This is fun to me. Dan could be wrong in his reporting and Machado still winds up going to the Yankees who knows. I’m not a Dan Clark groupie but I am not just looking at his recent tweets in a vacuum either. I’ve read his tweets for about a year now. He’s not some weirdo looking for notariety from my perspective. I know that’s how some view him and how many want to view him. Again, I hope he’s wrong.

I feel like the Sox are going to be dead set on making big splash this off season whatever means necessary. If they strike out on these guys that means there will be a trade that hauls out young talent. Is a trade for Arenado with the thought of signing him a possibility as plan b?

Hypothetically speaking, if Dan’s info is correct what is typically the benefit of waiting to announce a deal like this? Could they just be working on the final details but agreed on the general parameters? Im just trying to understand why they wouldn’t just announce it. For me what would make this more of a textbook method of driving up bidding would be for Manny’s camp to put something out there saying he is “leaning” or “the edge goes to NY” but not decided and will be announced shortly. We will soon see though. I hope it turns on Dan. I’m one of the pipe dreamers that believed the Sox could land both Harper and Machado.

If he made the same tweet and said it was going to be to the Whitesox everyone would be totally willing to believe it as a forgone conclusion since the very same Dan Clark that said it.

Prepare to be disappointed with those figures.

I am sorry but Dan Clark is not going to come out and tweet that as definitive as he did unless he is absolutely sure. I will eat my words if it winds up not happening, happily, but I would be willing to bet my next pay check that this is going to wind up being true.

Yeah Dan Clark is legit. The Machado dream is as good as done.
