  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 11:13 AM) f*** it...lets make the playoffs!!! Shhhhhhh...keep that down, you are going to insight rage around here with this kind of talk. That would be a dreadful season to most of the board.
  2. This weekends games should be nice to go to. Upper 60's and lower 70's by Sunday. Nice alternative to get my start of the season fix in since I cant get out of work today.
  3. I am not advocating that keeping Q is the best route. I have just come to the realization that I am more attached to Q and I am way more willing to accept him being a part of this teams future than I was with Sale. I selfishly want to keep him right now because I respect the hell out of his game and his professionalism. He is coming into his prime and is getting better...he loves being here....all his teammates and coaches respect the hell out of him...young pitchers can learn a lot from him...he is a horse...and he comes cheap.
  4. I think I can honestly say that I have way more of a connection with Q than I ever did with Sale. In this past month I have definitely had moments of seriously wanting to not trade Q at all and figure out this rebuild with Q as the centerpiece of the future. Today is one of them days that I am totally down with that.
  5. I will officially be extremely disappointed now if we dont sign him. There has been too much talk about us being the favorites that I already have him penciled in to my 2019 lineup.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 12:49 PM) Well, again, I don't know that I have actually watched a bad player's BP snippets. So maybe the mere fact that one was generated and shared means that he is in fact worth signing. It could be the moneyballing metric the white sox need. Oh I know. I was just kidding because I totally fall down the same line of thinking when I see these. Two months from now I will dig into my Robert memory bank and remember that video as if I scouted the kid traveling down from field to field on a donkey.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 12:40 PM) Probably because only phenoms have their BPs put up on twitter, but every one of those I think "THis player is amazing" So you are saying its not effective to scout a player on 40 seconds of BP in the DR? I have to look back, I am not even sure he was wearing shoes.
  8. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 12:17 PM) White people... smdh LMAO Hey I'm white and I was smdh too.
  9. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Meh I'm not thrilled with what the Cardinals farm system could offer Many arent but I would welcome them into the discussion. The more teams interested the better the return will be.
  10. QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) It's a risk for both sides. Astros trying to stick to their plan and get throught he season with that rotation. White Sox trying to keep his value where it's at. It'll probably be incredibly tough to trade him next offseason. Its hard for me to imagine a time when it would be incredibly tough to trade a pitcher of Q's quality and his contract. Even if there are others available, hard to beat the contract with his kind of production.
  11. Looking forward to cheering my ass off for Q on every one of his starts to be dominating. Then trade him to a team that wasnt even in the trade talks this off season.
  12. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) I'm kind of tired of the attitude from Astros fans and their GM. I'm not budging one iota if I'm Hahn. Every team that has been rumored to Q have that same attitude. Each fanbase value all their A list guys as cant miss and untradeable while they want to offer 1-2 B level prospects. Even then they think they might be giving up too much.
  13. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 12:15 PM) I know that. But they should at least try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But that should be the first course of action. If they get half of the velocity he lost back by doing that they won. I said that Giolito's mechanics are complex. I know that getting them exactly where they were will likely be very difficult. I would be pretty certain that Coop has and will try this approach. What would make you think he hasnt or wouldnt?
  14. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) Agreed Judging Giolito based only on very limited spring training performance is a big mistake He is not a finished product and really could use a full season at AAA to develop Sox are going to be patient with all these prospects, and fans need to understand that going through adversity is part of what young players need to learn to handle Which is literally WHY HE IS A PROSPECT. Did we expect everyone to come over in these deals and start producing right away? Or look like a close to finished product? Of course not every PROSPECT is going to come blazing away or have life to every breaking ball. This is a process. Its going to be hard for Sox fans to grasp this concept when so much is hinging upon the success of the guys that come over but we cant hang on every outing or every scouting report that changes with the wind.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 10:26 AM) Sounds like Giolito was horrible in his minor league start earlier in the week. Unless he gets more velocity or alters his fastball grip/angle, I don't see him being an impact pitcher http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/1898047...lito-worth-hype Hot damn, we love to jump to early conclusions. LOL
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 07:17 AM) Was this before or after Bob Kraft announced that Brady wants to play 6 or 7 more seasons? This was after. LOL Seriously, if the Pats truly believe that Jimmy G is the next big thing and they usually have the balls to make the boldest of moves, trading Brady now might make some sense. But I am sure if they made him available the bidding would become outrageous. At least I didnt get slapped. Although I dont think its THAT far fetched of an idea as it sounds on first impression.
  17. Here is a thought, just slap me hard in the face once you are done reading, is it possible the Bears could actually trade for Brady with the number 3 and then some? The Pats have always been proactive and it would immediately legitimize the Bears team. I know, slap me.
  18. One of the more impressive things I've heard from the Sox beat is that Giolito is an extremely mature dude especially for his age. This makes me confident that whatever hurdles that he is going to face he will handle it like a boss.
  19. Kind of surprised how low the Dodgers were and how high the Indians are.
  20. Not sure if this is posted anywhere else. If it is we can delete. Sox are cheapest and the Cubs are polar opposite as the most expensive. https://twitter.com/AmazinAvenue/status/846...8703104/photo/1
  21. Bruce Levine‏ @MLBBruceLevine 14m14 minutes ago More WhSox Rick Renteria said he will announce rotation in the next two days. Does Quintana trade status impact this ? Bruce always trying to get a piece of the obvious...
  22. What is to lose by naming Q the OD starter and still trading him before opening day? Do they think the fans will feel slighted if that happens? They must really think there is a good chance he goes before then by going out fo their way to NOT name him the OD starter.
  23. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Mar 22, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) I say dump the overrated and costly (prospect currency wise) Martes and go with Tucker, Reed, Perez and Laureano. Overall I'd still rather work with the Yankees or Pirates though. The Pirates are not going to come to play. They want the player but will never be willing to part with the prospects that it takes. They can keep the prospects and struggle to even make it into the playoffs let alone win a playoff series for all I care.
  24. There is definitely a lot more chatter on twitter today on this front. Seems like it may pick up some serious steam if one of the big guys reports on this as well. Still could be nothing though.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2017 -> 08:05 AM) One more thing to note here... Look who got the scoop for this story. How many stories did he have about who was interested in White Sox players this winter? just sayin. Bob Nightengale‏Verified account @BNightengale 2m2 minutes ago Chicago #WhiteSox sign shortstop Tim Anderson to record six-year, $25 million contract http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2...nsion/99441684/ Its been a while so i forgot. He was one that put a lot out there right? Didnt he have the three team deal scoop until it fell apart?
