QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 09:58 AM) There are times I yell at my radio, "Mully! Shut! UP!" His interviews for radio are horrifyingly bad. He can't just ask a question, he has to go on a diatribe about god knows what. And he cuts off Hanley all the time. Not good. As for Spiegel and Parkins...it's not working. They don't have the chemistry. What I like about Spiegel is, he's real. You can hear it in his voice. I can hear his disdain with Parkins. Did anyone hear Parkins interview with Dan Pompei? It was about TO not making it into the Hall of Fame. Parkins was pressing Pompei on the reasons why. I thought Pompei answered to the best of his ability, without jeopardizing the integrity of the room of voters making the decision or calling out anyone in particular. Parkins kept pestering him not liking the answer. And after the interview really kind of gave it to Pompei about not answering to his liking. This is a 30 year old newbie calling out a HoF sports writer less than a month into his new gig. It really put me off as a listener. Parkins has a little shock jock in him, and I don't think that plays well with Spiegs or with Chicago. This is spot on. I really didnt expect him to come into this situation like he has. He isnt trying to work his way into the mix strategically, he is going in balls to the wall like everyone has something to learn from his style. Instead of adapting himself to fit into the Score he wants the Score to adapt to him. With that being said it is still early, he might learn from his mistakes and fit in as time goes on.

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
shipps replied to Al Lopez's Ghost's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jon Heyman on the Score this morning sounded like he thinks the Sox are very comfortable with holding onto Q into the season. Nothing new. -
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) Miami is definitely better than the Sox. San Diego and Philadelphia are the only ones that are definitely worse IMO. 1. Anderson SS 2. Abreu 1B 3. Cabrera LF 4. Frazier 3B 5. Davidson DH 6. Lawrie 2B 7. Garcia RF 8. Soto C 9. Tilson CF That's a bad offense. Yes and if any of 2-4 on the list go down its bottom 3 worst in the league.

Jabari Parker torn ACL out for the next year.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 9, 2017 -> 01:28 PM) I didn't even post the rumor because I don't even follow the guy on twitter. I only see things from him when WhiteSoxDave or Owen or someone retweets it. I never said he was credible, I just said he has gotten a couple things right recently so he is worth monitoring. I think the point was that he was never even worth monitoring.

How about the timing on this one from Sears? Its like he was intentionally trying to show chili he was making s*** up. If there was any question before he cleared that up pretty damn quickly. Anything or anyone associated with sportsmockery isnt credible at all.

This Sean Sears guy is getting the scoop on everything! Thanks Y2Jimmy0.

WTF is going on in here? Damn, the world we live in today is scary.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 3, 2017 -> 09:45 AM) I think Cleveland is thinking very hard about bringing Watson home, I wouldn't be so sure about Garrett Thats what I thought too. It would be so cleveland.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 3, 2017 -> 08:28 AM) No they haven't. At least they shouldn't. Donald is a 3 technique DT. Allen more of a 5 technique in a 34 front. He should be a good pro but I worry that he's about as good now as he'll ever be and the shoulder issues are scary. I think Solomon Thomas from Stanford is the best DL in the draft. He could be JJ Watt like at the next level. If they didn't go QB, he'd be my pick at #3. How do you feel about Garrett at 3?

FG projects Sox as having 3rd biggest fall off in defense

Yeah its gonna be fun, for sure. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) Allen isn't known as a pass rusher and he has had 2, possibly three surgeries on his shoulder. I am scared to death of Allen (maybe it is the White syndrome) but I pretty much am only interested in pass rushers, perenial all pro LT's, or QB's with a top 3 pick. Allen doesn't seem to fit the make-up of a guy who will be a total elite difference maker while I think the safeties can address some huge needs and have that talent, that said, I think I grade them more similarly and thus would prefer to move down to get them, cause I don't really see a team taking those guys @ 3 (and figure at least one will still be there if we were down at 7, 8 or 9. This time of year is when I read scouting reports and watch some tape on guys because I admittedly hate watching college football during the season. Everything that I have read and seen on him is that he is going to be a difference maker. Scouts that have said those exact words. He is going to be a disruptive force. Now the injuries, yeah that is a fear.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) I think the game changers available at #3 are safeties and I view the top two relatively interchangeably and not being worthy of the #3 pick, so if a team had another player, say an offensive player they wanted/needed to move up a few slots to get, I'd prefer to make that move and accumulate picks. I have always believed in the Jimmy Johnson (and really to some extent Belicheck) view of moving down and accumulating picks...gives you the opportunity to be aggressive when you need to move up. Pace has also shown he is not afraid to move picks (which I like). I want Allen. Fangio can move that guy around and he will be a game changer on day one. I like the idea of obtaining more picks, dont get me wrong but this dude is a cant miss IMO. Without a pass rush you leave any safety you have back there out to dry even if he is good. Either way I think they make out pretty well in this draft and off season though.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) My ideal scenario would be to trade down and grab the best safety available, get some more picks, use a 2nd and 3rd (following year) on Jimmy G and then obviously use some FA money. Could all be a disaster, but I'd be okay swinging for it. I would still want that for sure game changer with the third pick instead of a really good safety + two dice rolls.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 02:54 PM) By the way, I still think Jimmy G should be plan A (presuming we could get him for less than a 1st round pick). If we can get him for our second and a third next year I would be pretty damn excited. You could still draft a defensive beast with the third pick and add Jimmy G? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiit.

2016-17 free agency thread (NON WHITE SOX RELATED)

Someone asked Offman were there any names involved. He just responded this morning saying that no names and there are many other discussions with other teams involved as well. Yeah so that rumor was nothing unless you want to read between the lines, as expected.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 12:09 AM) Spiegs has already had to say what Chicago athlete seems to be the biggest asshole (he said Kane), if he was mad his co-host was brought in from outside the station (he said he was pissed off about it), who he wanted as his partner (Rozner), reasons why he got divorced, and that's only from the 2 times I have heart parts of the segment. The ones I've heard Spiegs not answer are.....how big is dick is (Parkins volunteered his size, unprovoked) and who he would not save from The Score building if it was on fire. I cant believe he answered the reasons why he got divorced. What did he say?
