QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) Denver went headhunting all day yesterday and the refs didn't stop it once. Poor show for their concussion safety protocols Yeah that was fun.

Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 07:46 AM) http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/09/heym...l-saunders.html The comments here about Quintana are f***ing hilarious. One person says the Dodgers would never give up a package of Urias, Thompson and Grandal for Quintana because "he's not worth it" lmao To be fair I am certain they read some of our trade talk here involving them and thinks its hilarious too.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) So Zaidman tweeted out that Whitehair is probably our starting C, that's the way coaches are talkin. Would it hurt to let Larson start the first game and let Whitehair get a little extra time to get acclimated?

I love football. Tonight is going to be fun. I still miss the days of the gruesome brutality of the hits but this brand still gets my blood flowing.

Have you ever caught a pop-up add out the corner of your eye and flinched as if something was about to hit you? Me neither.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) I hate week 1. Never makes any sense. And its all warm and stuff. Such a weird week for football. I love it, but it takes a while to get in full swing football mode.

The wrong side of 30? He is 30 years old now right? I would think he has at least another three good years left in him.

Brad Biggs was saying on the radio this morning that even the Packer players are curious and looking for some sort of explanation as to why a guy like Sitton would be cut.

Labor Day Weekend
Still winded up going out even though I was really trying to stick to plans of staying at home and relaxing. We went to the Renaissance Faire which was a lot of fun. First time I was there. I was surprised how it flushed me of money as much as it did though. Not only did me and the wife pay to get in (kids were free under 5years old) but every ride cost at least $3. So that started to really add up as my kids like to go on every ride they see and sometimes more than once.

We should do some polls to pass the time and vent
just sad. The meaningless second half's are becoming really old. It will likely be the same thing next year which makes this feeling even worse.

Jose Abreu
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) There's a mutual $10 million agreement or $3 million buyout on Volquez. Will be an interesting decision. They theoretically have Vargas coming back. Duffy (last arb. season), Kennedy, Ventura...they don't want to start Young anymore, so back end of Gee, Vargas and Strahm plus $17 million freed up from Medlen/Volquez means they add another pitcher or 2-3 relievers. Did you mean to put this post in a Jose Abreu thread?

Labor Day Weekend
What is everyone doing this year? These days we seem to be doing something with the kids every single weekend but this weekend I am determined to just chill at home. That is something I havent done in a long time and I am not exaggerating. Gonna bbq some ribs and steaks and let the kids act like animals in our yard.

I wonder if Shea is going to make the Patriots 53 man. I know he played rather sparingly in the pre season and didnt play in the last game.

Bears should be keeping a really close eye on all the cuts that are going on today which I know they will. When you have a team that is lacking depth like they are they can actually save themselves in some areas with some quick signings from this point on.

Not a huge fan of Mariani but he did fairly well as a slot guy last year and is steady with catching the ball in the return game. He isnt going to lose you any games by making key mistakes and you need that. I am not going to get upset over a 7th rounder being cut nor would I get upset if Mariani didnt make it. I would understand either side of the argument.

White Sox call up Minaya and Smith
I have to fight the urge in each new thread to not respond "god this is depressing" in every one. Its just all so disappointing with very minimal positive signs I am....just done.

Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
It seems as though the local guys on the Sox beat dont buy this rumor.

Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
They have to bring in those guys that Balta mentioned AND make some trades in order to get back to being competitive. Even then it would be no guarantee that they wouldnt just flop again.

Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana
Its been pretty obvious that this has been the case by the lack of movement at the trading deadline and everything that was done in the past two off seasons.
