http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/col_imre...?intid=38011175 This article states exactly what I think of this organization. Some folks have accused me as being too negative but I cannot put it any better than this article.

Jim, I think the place is run poorly. JR doesn't handle the media well so why should expect others to do the same. Here is the rub, Ownership needs to do just that...own. I don't like my families or childrens issues aired out in public, why should they. Since ownership does a poor job at marketing, and dealing with the press they have no idea to to handle there own people. I think Ozzie will make it 10 times worse. This guy is a big mouth but once again professionalism with this team is second.

Don't take me so seriously, I think what you have is great, and gives us a terrific perspective. Thanks very much

this is by far the most exciting item I have heard this off season. This is incredably awesome, and I fear you will need to shut up or use a discalimer like: From What I understand the sox spend x amount. We will all know the code. I guess the big questions are: Do the sox make out if attendance is down? Ncorg says no. What can the big guys afford? what are the costs of the park and upkeep and so on. Is this low payroll justified? What is needed to sell this club. Before Ncorg jumps on this. If lets say donald trump offered 260 million would these asswipes sell? If so then why not put the team up for sale like the brewers did and find a buyer? I think the reason is they are making cash and a good amount of it. Who designed the ballpark changes? I assume the Whitesox did?
-
Corg the magic questions. Is it better moneywise if the sox do not pay rent (under 1.3) or if they pay rent (say 2.0 Million fans) Sounds like a potential conflict of interest. What posseses the Sox to want to get fans?
-
this is awesome information. thanks for sharing. I think a Copy machine and a lawyer/fan can dissect it. Anyway, terrific info. Does it say anything about management incompetance?
-
jason, can I use my same ID and password on future sox. or do I need a new ID?

I would love this trade: 1) We will begin our rebuilding process and recieve great pitching in return. Jackson and Miller are terrific. 2) Frres up big money for Next year in which we will have a solid pitching staff and then we will look for free agents next year with cash to spend. 3) I hate konerko. He is overpaid and slow and hits to only one side of the park 4) first base would be split between Gload and thomas. Again rebuilding all around pitching. I would like to see what Gload can bring. Mags is gone anyway, and Konerko is overpaid.

Where does it bash the Sox, by saying they are a NOn contender? Right now they are a non contender. Everyone in the division has gotten better except the Sox.
-
ahh Jim, lets make sure we sit together. You can keep from from coming out of my skin. Lets add: With the offseason we have had, are we a better team or worse team than last years squad.
-
I remain Extremely perplexed that we as Sox fans on this board jump on people who critisize the Sox. I don't think anyone is jumping to other teams, but as shareholders of interest in our lifelong committment to this particular team, I too remain very depressed this offseason about the Whitesox. Doesn't mean I don't care, in fact it means I do care. I have an investment in both time and money and I simply do not understand the direction. The only thing I can think of is after this year we will look more like Baltimore is looking like now. Payroll will free up and we will rebuild with key players after they kick Valentin, Magglio, Thomas, and trade konerko. Its the only thing I can think of because right now this team is worse than last years team which did not make the playoffs. Very depressing. Therefore, I remain a sox fan but a smart fan and this smart fan doesn't think this team looks good enough to compete for a division or playoff spot.

didn't the orioles sign Javy lopez?
-
With the exception of Marte the entire bullpen is a huge question mark. I guess you could say we could have one of the best bullpens, then again you could also say we could have one of the worst bullpens, which puts us right where we are....unknown.
-
God this is exciting, something really to build on leading up to Soxfest.
-
Rex, I think willie can hit 250 with the bunts. That's it, Hope he proves me wrong, but certianly would like better from a leadoff hitter. I will assume the sox will experiment with many players at the top of the order throughout the year, I can even see Rowand hitting there this year(not because I want him there)
-
and you just hit it on the head, it doesn't have to be this way. the division is there for the taking, we are not going and getting it. its a shame, and as fans we need to voice our opinions, we are not robots like the Cub fans, we care alot about our team, we defend it, but between ourselves and management I remain highly critical of what in the hell the whitesox are doing.
-
Who cares if Ozzie teaches him to bunt, is he going to bunt four times a game? Is he going to bunt to hit 300. The guy can't hit. Good bunter can hit, not just bunt. The opposition has to respect the bunt of a good hitter. If all this slug can do is bunt we are in trouble.

The board is for posts good or bad. Its not to blow sunshine up the whitesox asses. The facts remain the sox have done nothing to improve, the Royals have plain and simple. As far as our offense being better, I completely disagree. Sweeney, Gonzo, Beltran, randa, berroa, harvey, rondel white is a great start, they have a better manager, better bench and better relief pitching. they are better.
-
its a big secret just like our offseason
-
once again the Royals have made themselves better and the odds on favorite to win the division. This is a shame, the whitesox have done nothing to improve this club in an easy division. Add in the loss of Alomar for 1 million and this off season is by far the worst I have seen in many years. Willie Harris is a piece of crap, we have huge holes in pitching, we have a catcher that cannot hit a curve ball, an unproven center fielder, a C rated minor league org, a potential sophmore jinx with Crede, the slowest first baseman in the history of baseball, no bench, a rookie manager, increase prices for tickets. We gone.
-
Ok, this sounds like its over but two observations: 1) Could be postering to get alex to tell the players union to f*** off 2) Another great gesture by a great org. They post stuff out for there fans. God what a concept. Can you see JR doing this? No way, we would have to read about some bulls*** leak in the press.
-
can I give you a tissue?
-
quit acting like your 15, think through the scenerio. If we keep nomar and he doesn't sign next year, what do you think of the trade? you will feel the same way you felt when we didn't sign colon, or alomar, or everett, or sullivan.
-
I really don't beleive we will keep him
-
Well, I don't understand the big deal. Your all in love with Cotts, just like everyone was in love with rauch, then corwin Malone, Kris honel, Jon Garland, blah blah blah. The way I see it is if KW gives up maggs and Cotts for Williamson, Mota, Perez, and Jackson or Miller then I think we made out big time on this deal. We get a closer, Middle reliever, Starting pitcher and potentially a fifth starter this year or next. Then you trade valentin for gullien. Then you trade Koch to the mets- for weathers or royce ring. Then you are saving about 10 million with all these players, go out and sign ponson and Juan gone. There is your team....for a while I might add. PS this all could happen and its all within budget.
