First of all, and will never condone such behavior, but if your going to pick a professional woman to send these too the last people on earth are reporters or anyone in the media. Just a complete idiot.

And we play the NL central in inter league and they are in schambles. Sox will get to the playoffs with what they have but they can’t win throughout unless they get some pitching depth. I am not against Cruz but if they go this route they will basically use all their money on him and will be saying we are just going to out score teams because we don’t want to overpay for these pitchers. It’s one or the other for them but it’s not both.

You maybe right but if that’s the case then we should not have drafted him so high. We will wait and see. Payroll is always an obstacle and Madrigal is cheap and an everyday player. Hopefully something happens soon. I really do like Huer as a 7th inning option. Foster, and Marshall are sixth inning options, Frye is more situational . Whenever you have young starters you need a shut down bullpen. Huer would be missed. Anyway, we will see, very fun times .

So we drafted Madrigal in the top 5 , he hasn’t played a year yet and we want to ship him off? Seems like a wasted pick to me and then we would need to find an everyday second baseman. These number 1 and number 2 choices that we sacrificed years to rebuild have to stay in the org and grow together. Seems pre- mature to give up on Madrigal now unless he has reached full potential. I just wouldn’t trade for a pitcher using our key prospects. Sign a number 4 and let cease and kopech develop under Katz . Sometime this year kopech will BE up and so will crochet.

Since we are all getting crazy I would take Devin Williams. This burnes thing irritates me as he is a work in progress and I don’t want to give up any potential 30hr 100 rbi guy for a project.

Is Burnes some kind of all star? Is he potentially better than crochet or kopeck? Why part with Vaughn who in a year could be your starting first baseman for 10 years. Just seems strange.

Well the Sox could have had Hand for 1 year 10 million and be done. But all teams passed on that deal so his market most likely has to be around 8 million.

The fact that the Mets are now interested in Hand might say they are not willing to go 4 years and maybe they are pulling out. Dodgers won’t be that stupid either. The sox and blue jays might be that stupid.

If we were inn the same position at that age with one contract left we would all do the same . Yes a couple extra million dollars count in the long run . If someone offered me an extra year I would take it. Sox probably made a damn nice offer that all of us would agree but if some org made a better one and I buy a beach house in la I would take it . Good info, but in a depressed market for paying out large numbers you wonder if you just sign the guy you want ( Hendrix) and wait to see who is left in the outfield. With so many teams cutting payroll and now trades being made you would think they would do it reverse, get the guy they really wanted. It’s easier to find an outfielder than a stud closer.

The cubs sold off their top starter and back up catcher for mid tier prospects and a number 4 starter. We are adding and buying to a team on the upswing. I will take our side on this one . Sox will add and compete cubs will keep on selling .

Cubs didn’t land a ton of quality but they got a lot of young talent to develop. The market is weak for sure.
