  1. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) Politte HAS to go. SOme of our minor leagures can do better than this. this is indeed true. Bring on one of the kids! They couldn't do worse.
  2. cliffy should be just about done with the sox. if this outing doesn't do it , one more like it should take care of it.
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) yes, because the sox are going to light up proctor like a slot machine But if he keeps sucking than he will be gone. I like that option better if I know we will lose this game anyway.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) It's too bad that the Cardinals don't have some big prospects, as I would seriously consider trading Buehrle for a top-notch package this offseason. me too. Send him where he wants to go. In addition if he goes 1-12 or whatever he did in 2003 than the St Louis Fans can praise him when he ends up at 500 for the year and they pay him 8 million. In the meantime we need to stop drafting crafty guys who top off at 92.
  5. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) So do I. But saying that "he's lost it" after three bad starts is asinine. 14-14, 4.13 ERA, 1.35 WHIP. Not very good numbers for an ace. But he turned it around after that. That last part makes absolutely no sense. Yeah, he's pitching like crap right now. But you're acting like it's never happened before. I am saying he has not pitched well and it seems as if he is continuing his slide with nothing positive to talk about. I am also saying I could care less what he did in 2003. To use your term, asinine is the way Buehrle is pitching.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) What, no criticism of any part of the team in your post? They are doing a good job on there own.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) If the pen holds(no reason it cant) there is still plenty of time to make a game of it.... you mean win or just get closer? I really don't care unless they win. But man I am so looking forward to andersen getting over 200. Its like when George Brett was chasing 400. same feeling.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) Riske's good when he throws strikes. As anybody can be. So.....throw some strikes, David. what no andersen update on your post?
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) this is the first I've heard, but Farmer says the flu is running through this team it would be nice if he would have mention this in the pregame show, by doing it now it just looks like some crap excuse.
  10. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) It's a bit premature to say that Mark "has lost it," especially if there's no evidence of injury or diminished skills. Agreed that he's pitched like crap in his last three or so starts, but he didn't have a very good season in '03 and rebounded from that nicely. I expect him to be a great pticher on a playoff contending team. I really don't care if he rebounded in 2003. What happened in 2003? Nothing. Buehrle needs to get his crap together fast. someone posted his last 3 starts, the stats are horrible with nothing clear in sight of him being better. Again 51 pitches today, means more stress on the bullpen. Something is up with buehrle. You will go through more bullpen today and have a 5 era pitcher on the mound tommorrow with a huge series coming up against detriot. Sounds like a stressful time for our bullpen pitchers who blew the game yesterday as well.
  11. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Dude's thrown 220+ innings over the last five seasons. But if he were hurt, he probably wouldn't be throwing as hard. Haven't seen today's game, but he didn't look like he's lost much velocity in his last two starts. Well I don't live in the past. Your only as good as today, and today he is not good. When he retires I will look back on his past. he cannot continue to give up 6-7-8 runs and expect to be called a number 1 or 2 pitcher. He has lost it, I think KC is coming up next month so that should help him out. Maybe he will only give up 4 or 5 runs to them.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) I love blaming only the pitcher when he got pathetic fielding behind him. Buehrle might be a lot of things, but there's no bigger competitor on the Sox. He's not hurt....just bad today. Yea well he seems to be bad alot. In fact I would say we couldn't count on him to pitch a good game right now. Say what you want about his competiveness and continue to back him up but quite frankly I view him as Unreliable at this point in time. Now in addition to him the sox are completely lacking focus. They feel the slide happening. There heads are not in the game. No fundelmentals, and poor defense.
  13. buehrle is Horrible. Nothing else to say about him, except as I predicted last week we would be 6 games out after the tiger series and fighting for the wild card spot. the ship is sinking and we will need a trade big time to infuse some light in this team. 51 pitches is not that many pitches for buehrle, could be he is hurt.
  14. Aj batlling nicely, but I don't think so, detriot rallying
  15. unreal, god damn, I am pissed, and detriot with a rally
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) I think he'd be the one guy in all of baseball who could benefit the most by a change of scenery. Him or Cliff? nice job Jimmy. Use it, PK. wow if I would have come up with that you would be grabbing your posse to come after me. But I do agree.
  17. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) see White Sox schedule, circa mid August 2005. you mean they won't s*** on themselves in august. please. They need a trade. You ahve to beat good teams to be considered good.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Which is why I'm all in favor of a blockbuster trade right now for any superstar. When you have to scratch and claw to barely beat the Red Sox at home, it should signal something. completely agree we need a shake up. In addition we are god damn lucky KC is winning right now. i posted a week ago saying this will be the toughest week of the season. We lost this game but if detriot loses we actually won. No s***. Ozzie compelely over thought this game. its better when he goes with the gut than with his brain.
  19. lets hope detriot wins, we cannot hang with the big boys
  20. well lets hope detroit loses, cause this one is over
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) You know the other fairly amazing thing IMO? At least recently, while the only prospects who really look to knock your socks off in the big leagues are BMac and BA, the Sox have a ton of guys they've drafted and moved/let go who are cropping up all over the place. they have not won a world series, the sox have. anything to win the series. i could care less about fringe guys. Let them prove themselves then we can re-acquire. For every Chris young there will be 10 scott ruffcorns. i love the idea that we build a good system so other teams think we are good.
  22. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) cept Young and Gio WILL probably come back to bite us in the ass... especially if we end up trading Javy... i will take my chances. Both could get injured and never play again. I would rather go with veterans and get into the playoffs.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Just goes to show the media's ability to read other media reports. so, whats the point? let them read. I like the talk.
  24. they are also talking about the flash gordon report out of Phili. Moral of the conversation seems to be KW going for it.
