  1. man, I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would be sooo awesome if we had Joba Chamberlin right now instead of McCulloch.
  2. does banging that Michele chick and hanging out with Roman actually do anything or is it just crap they threw into the game?
  3. I like how they leave Juan Uribe as Juan Uribe...
  4. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 11, 2008 -> 06:04 AM) Hmmm, I thought it was the opposite because of the crazy humidity. In fact, Hawk and DJ were recalling how Ken Griffey Jr was complaining when the stadium opened that it was really hard to hit a homerun there compared to the Kingdome. well, it must have been a dry day out there.
  5. Well, the ball really carries at Seattle. The only ball hit that was truly "hit" was Anderson's. Quentin's (I still love him) and Beltre's both shouldn't have been homers. Also, I guarantee Uribe will be to his usual, virtually no offensive output self, within the next week or so. Good win though and we're actually winning on the west coast.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2008 -> 05:06 PM) Signing a backup outfielder does not make this team better. The biggest reason why Ozuna and Ramirez are both on this team is that they can both back up the infield positions. With Crede's back issues and Uribe's usual performance issues and Cabrera's this year suckitude, we need more depth in the IF than the OF. The day Danny Richar gets healthy will be a joyous one.
  7. check that... I just realized that Rouse is no longer with the Knights, so forget him. So, either Wise or Liefer then should be on the bench. I pray to god I never see Jerry Owens in a White Sox uni again.
  8. Ramirez needs to be in AAA playing everyday at SS... I'd call up Mike Rouse or Jeff Liefer to take his spot on the bench.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 7, 2008 -> 12:19 AM) Stay back and pull the ball? That doesn't make much sense at all. When you stay back, it's because you're letting the ball get deep and hitting it opposite field. yeah, maybe on fastballs. But he was waiting for the change or curve. Just because you stay back doesn't mean you have to go oppo.
  10. why in the world is this big news at all? Hell, this isn't even really news. Who the f*** gives a s***? Plenty of crap goes down in locker rooms. My goodness.
  11. I am glad for the great outing and all... but I am extremely pissed that Floyd was actually taken out of that game. What f***ing bulls***. So f***ing what, llet him get the complete game. I remember hearing all this crap about Ozzie letting his pitchers go long into games and such, but so far this year, he has taken the ball out of the pitchers hand soooo many times. This is just one of my pet-peeves, and it pisses me off so much. f***ing BS that Floyd didn't get the CG tonight.
  12. I could kind of understand calling up a pitcher... but he wasn't even f***ing used!
  13. I have a feeling anyday now Ozzie will completely blow up and say something really stupid, and because of it, he'll either quit or get fired.
  14. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 4, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) Id say Swishers D is definitely not tops on my lists of complaints about this team. It's actually probably somewhere around the 100th biggest issue. This team is depressing me. Oh, I'm not complaining. I'm just saying it's a little far out there to say he's played outstanding D.
  15. I wouldn't say Swisher's played outstanding D in center, but he hasn't f***ed up either. Pretty mediocre out there if you ask me.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ May 4, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) so what if JT swings and misses by 500 feet when it counts most . and then when the score is 166-3 he hits balls to the moon. YOU CAN BET YOUR LAST DIME THAT WHEN WE DO FINALLY SCORE RUNS WE ARE GOING TO SCORE CLOSE TO 20. probably win 19-3 and then proceed to be queens and lose 5000 one run games in a row. someone with some baseball sense please answer this question: what really is wrong with JT? bad speed? picking up the arm angle? picking up the rotation out of the hand? too far off the plate? not close enough to take away the inside pitch? one simple answer... old age. Everything is slowing down for him, such as bat speed, among other things as well.
  17. I'm afraid that this will be another looooooooong day... however, I will not have to witness this game as I have a doubleheader today!
  18. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 4, 2008 -> 05:11 AM) Assinine? That's ridiculous, has been a great hitter his whole life? Yeah, he's got a TON of major league experience in his combined 1 season of major league at bats, there's no possible way that in his young age, he could develop a bad habit and actually NEED someone to help him make adjustments and get his swing back. Your whole post is ridiculous, no offense. The fact is, he's a young player and young players aren't veterans and haven't been through the ups and downs that go along with helping someone become an established hitter with few weaknesses. Sure you go through bad habits and slumps... but if your worth a damn and know anything about baseball, you wouldn't need a hitting coach to get you out of said slump. A hitting coach pretty much gives advice, but that, most of the time, doesn't work. It is dependent on the player to fix it himself.
  19. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 3, 2008 -> 10:16 PM) firing walker won't do sh**, please stop rehashing this old and useless idea because the guys on the team that might actually NEED a hitting coach (Quentin and BA) are actually hitting PRETTY DAMN WELL so far, the VETS whom have grooved swings and established approaches at the plate, are the ones who have their heads up their asses now, you can ask yourself why did we HIRE walker in the first place, which is a valid question to a point, but to fire him is pointless and only serves to make yourself feel better because of how this team is making YOU feel by their constant losing, you want someone to play scape goat because your feelings are hurt That is a horrible arguement. Is it Walker's fault the offense sucks? Probably not. But it is his job title as hitting coach to take all the blame (or glory) for the results of the offense. It's kinda tough to fire 12-13 players. An example has to be made, and as we have seen in other places, the firing of a hitting coach can spark the offense. Also, you saying someone like Quentin needs a hitting coach is assinine. Quentin has been a great hitter his whole life, and everything you see from him is due to his incredible work ethic and talent. BA on the otherhand needs to get some talent in the hitting department.
  20. I am the last one to blame the coach for the hitters not doing their job, but for the past 2 1/2 years this offense has been terrible. While that is probably not Walker's fault, someone has to take the blame. Sometimes making an impact by firing someone will send a message to the players.
  21. First thing we need to do with any lineup is make sure Uribe is far away from it. I'd keep the lineup vs. the righties pretty much the same, except replace Uribe with Ramirez. As for vs. lefties: 1. Swisher, CF 2. Cabrera, SS 3. Quentin, LF 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Thome, DH 6. Dye, RF 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Crede, 3B 9. Ozuna, 2B
  22. I'm hoping we can somehow find a trade with Texas to get one of their many stud catcher prospects. Taylor Teagarden would look awfully good right now playing in a role similar to Kelly Shoppach.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 2, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) If he wasn't let go after the horrendous 2nd half of 2006 when we were expected to repeat as division champs, then I doubt he will be shown the door now when we were projected to be a 3rd or 4th place team. even worse, when we had arguably the worst offense in all of baseball last year, he still retained his job.
  24. depends on the seriousness of the injury. For all we know it popped right back in, but judging by that one post, it sounds a whole lot worse. Not good news at all. A young man's career is in jeopardy, and we have basically no catching prospects what-so-ever now.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) In the first week, we got shut down by Carmona, shut down by Westbrook, and were getting no hit by Dontrelle into the 5th inning. I stand corrected... besides for some players actually having a hot streak early this season to go along with the awesomeness of Quentin, the offense hasn't really changed at all since 2007. I wasn't able to watch the game (I can't wait until I can ditch directv, but from what I've heard, Comcast ain't much better, if that), but how fast was it?
