  1. besides for the first week or so, this team's offensive approach has not changed a bit from 2007.
  2. I got GTA IV... and it runs smoothly!
  3. I was one for my Grandmothers funeral, which was a year ago. Basically, make sure you're in a black suit, and look somber. The funeral director will give you the gloves and such. Just make sure you don't F up. Sorry for your loss.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) Yeah, I managed the convincing over xmas 07, but that was after 14 months of marriage. Good luck with the big day though... Go with the PS3 and convince her it's a good buy because it is sooo much more than a video game console. In fact, it's the best bluray DVD player out on the market.
  5. Hall really doesn't add anything that Lucy doesn't. Lucy is at least on par with Hall as a hitter (at this point in Toby's career), plays better D then Hall, and adds a little speed (and bunting ability apparently).
  6. 2B is the second easiest position to play in the infield, and third easiest to play in baseball. Fields would be no GG at 2B, but he'd certainly be able to handle the position.
  7. so, does GTA f*** up for every 60 gig ps3?
  8. Obama sees nothing wrong with Wright for over 20 years, and now all of sudden, he disowns Wright... So, he doesn't get it for 20 years, but finally does get it after 1 day?
  9. there is only one way to battle gas prices, and that is to conserve. Not buy huge ass SUV's and guzzle gas, and god forbid if you walk somewhere once in a while.
  10. looking at the box score, it looks like Javy should have been allowed to get the complete game.
  11. Fields with a homer in his first AB... he's been heating up lately.
  12. I'm 6'3"-4"... so, yeah, eat your heart out all you shorties!
  13. damn, I could have used that W from Javy for my fantasy team... couldn't see the game today, was CQ's homer a bomb?
  14. awesome work... I love it!
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:39 AM) Konerko's a dead pull hitter. I want him pulling everything. That's where his power is. No, you want him pulling everything that's "pull-able". A slider on the outside corner isn't pullable, but is a pitch that you can poke out to the opposite field.
  16. an ideal situation would be to probably move Dye in the offseason, move Quentin to RF, Swisher to LF, and in trading Dye, get a CF who can leadoff. Unlikely, but highly ideal situation, IMO.
  17. I think Retherford's ceiling is being like Robbie Hammock. Hammock is a decent bench guy who can play C, 1B, 3B, and LF, while being able to hit a little. If Retherford can be like that, that is a valuable addition to the bench.
  18. I, like Kalapse, have fallen in love with Quentin.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) I remember hearing that too, but I think it restarts to the top of the last inning played. Or maybe its the last half inning? I'm not sure. If a game gets rained out (or postponed for whatever reason) before it becomes an official game, the game restarts from the beginning. However, if a game gets delayed after it becomes official, it goes back to the previous inning, and whichever team is winning gets the W. This part I am not so sure about, but I think exceptions to this is if the team that is losing is threatening to come back, or it's tied, the game will continue where it left off.
  20. I'm going to wait until after school to get GTAIV but it will be certainly tough to hold off on.
  21. People talk about Broadway being a bad 1st round pick, McCulloch was 10x worse of a pick...
  22. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:06 AM) Thank you very much! yeah apologies about the thread-jacking.. but thank you very much, I play guitar and sing lead. We're just starting to get some radio play on Q101, which is obviously a big step, and I just actually heard it on the radio tonight for the first time.. at the same time that Crede hit the game winner.. so I think whenever the Sox are in a tight game.. Q101 needs to play some Plunket and they'll pull through. Hit me up with a PM if you wanna know more about us or where you can get our album or anything like that.. Now back to your regularly scheduled White Sox Winner Thread. once your famous and stuff, you better still post here... good music, and good luck with your music career!
  23. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) OC is getting on base at about the same rate Quentin is but with a higher average. So with that higher average he is more likely to move Swisher from 1st to third. Right now, he seems like the better option. well, he did fail pretty badly on that hit and run attempt.
  24. I agree, but I also disagree. Moving Quentin to the 2 spot makes the top of the order better, but then that weakens the bottom of the order. A 6-9 of Pierzynski, Crede, Cabrera, and Uribe isn't going to take a whole lot of pitches/walks. All of them are pretty much free swingers. With Quentin hitting down there, he adds balance.
