  1. watching mad tv last night, they had two fake political ads that made me laugh...
  2. my only gripe about the game is that Danks didn't get to go all 9...
  3. Javy will win it, with both Danks and Floyd being tied for 2nd place.
  4. I was thinking about, but todays start by Danks has convinced me to add him to my fantasy team...
  5. If Danks can keep this command, he will become better then Buehrle. Both are similar pitchers who don't have great stuff and they try and work fast, but Danks has better stuff then Buehrle, however Buehrle has always had great command. Vazquez, Danks, and Floyd are turning into a nice little three-some.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Yeah, they should release him. yeah, cause I said that...
  7. Has it seemed like to anyone else that Crede has been much worse this year then his numbers would indicate?
  8. I'd still take BA on the bench over Owens. Anderson provides value as a defensive replacement.
  9. what in the world are D.J. and Hawk talking about? The only reason why they felt more comfortable against RHP was because a good majority of the time they faced righties. They were used to righties and the angle the ball would come in at. But, a lot of righties crush lefties anyway. The same thing does not imply to lefties, as most lefties (including myself) hate facing left handed pitching. That is because lefties (and all hitters) see righties most of the time, and are used to them. By Hawk and D.J.'s logic, Swisher should bat left vs. lefties and right vs. righties.
  10. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:25 AM) how can you say it has nothing to do with the contract? you think we should sit both paulie and thome right now? indefinitely? because thats what Gibbons told Hurt. INDEFINITELY. come on now. after 60 PAs that's just messed up. Indefinitely? What in god's name are you talking about? They said he would see a reduction in playing time, not that he was going to rid the bench for the rest of the season. He wasn't producing and as it is now, they are playing in a tight division, and they don't want to fall behind anymore. Stairs is a good hitter in his own right, and has had the hot bat. I guess that is the problem with having two players who can only DH.
  11. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) are you kidding? i'd be pissed too if i had the chance to play a full season but the team wouldnt LET ME to save themselves money. that's just effing shady man. I think Thomas had every right to go off about it. for a guy who's career's been riddled with injury, i cant imagine it feels good to have even more time taken away from you because the organization doesn't want to honor the contract it gave you. You know the Jays want to actually do something this year, right? And since Thomas has been sucking, their best option was to sit him for a bit. Stairs went 2-3 yesterday in Thomas' place. This has nothing to do with the contract, as if Thomas was actually producing he wouldn't have had a reduction in playing time. Stop being a homer.
  12. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:14 AM) Ideal Day: SOX WIN, URIBE DISAPPEARS BEFORE GAME Perhaps he can receive the same fate that Ozzie Smith did in the Simpsons?
  13. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 12:17 AM) Well that isn't going to help matters is it. Wonder if they'll think about trading him now. I'm waiting for the poster who says we should trade for him to platoon with Thome...
  14. see, this is the attitude of Thomas that led to me not being a big fan of his. He's a great guy, no doubt, but he always puts himself over the good of the team... IMO.
  15. I have always been a fan of Jackson's since his days as a top prospect with the Dodgers, and I still think he can live up to that potential. We mustn't forget that he is only still 24 and was drafted originally as an OF (although they quickly moved him to P). As a baseball fan, I hope he can live up to at least some of that potential he had. However, as a Sox fan, I hope we side-track that development by 1 start... On a side note, imagine if Jackson does continue to develop along with Kazmir, Shields, Garza, Niemann, Price, McGee, and even Sonnanstine (who I'm not a fan of but included because of his great start). The Rays have a chance to become a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming years.
  16. yeah, I think he's thinking of Roberto Hernandez, who was coincidently in the booth today w/ Hawk and DJ.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) I've heard Richar won't be available until June. that's not good...
  18. Alexi needs to start everyday at SS down at Charlotte, and we need Richar here ASAP. I can tolerate Uribe as a bench player, but odds are with Ozzie that ain't happening.
  19. I bash Uribe after most victories as well... Uribe just isn't good.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 06:01 PM) We desperately need to add another lefty hitter to our roster. This righty dominant lineup is going to struggle against RHP with good offspeed stuff. That is why we need Richar to get healthy. He will add a lot to the offense, IMO.
  21. the only thing that hasn't made the OCab trade terrible so far has been the fact that Garland hasn't been much better and our back three in the rotation have actually been good... we'll see how it goes on, but I still think we'd benefit a whole lot more with Garland on the team still.
  22. you don't run him to next base in a rundown, you run him back to his original base. That was both Juan's and Cabrera's fault.
  23. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) Trouble in Toronto;
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) /facepalm Ok, I just have to jump in here, I just couldn't let this post slide. If you don't like Obama and have reasons for it that actually matter, like you think he's too liberal or something (because he is, in fact, pretty liberal) that's fine. If you don't like one or more of his policies, because some of them aren't all that great or are just dead wrong, that's fine too. But this whole post is a microcosm of everything that's wrong with American politics. Seriously. Hyperbole, half-truths propagated and accepted as fact, fear-mongering, distractions, "you hate America" BS, all of it's there in one neat little package. So, his associations with Ayars and Wright should be ignored? We know nothing about Obama really. And his associations with these people need to be addressed. Personal is as every bit as important as policy. I don't care what a president's policy is if they are some nutjob. It doesn't make a difference to me if I agree with their policy or not. I have absolutely no trust in Obama, not until he can answer these questions with a somewhat believable answer. His story about Wright has changed constantly.
