Darin Erstad has a swing similar to my little girl cousin, who is only 10.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) Considering Anderson has no future with us, and Day is as old as Contreras is, then that wouldn't be a horrible trade. We've made one great trade with Philly, and one horrible. Time for one in the middle. Well, Day is said to have one Jim Dandy of a slider (I know, Hawk's sayings get to me), one compareable to Brad Lidge's. And he is 26-27, so that means a team could get 7-10 good seasons out of him, if he is as good as he is said to be. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Anybody saying anything about why Thornton wasn't used today? When I was listening, no.
-
QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) What has he been saying today? His usuall stuff. "It was a ballgame, that's all" "you can't win them all" "Logan lossing the game was a good thing because it could have caused more relievers to be used"

I have a bad feeling that KW will do something idiotically drastic at mid-season to get Rowand back. Like trading Anderson and Day for him.

I had to shut off PFB before I threw my radio out the window, with my computer following.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Absolutely....play for today, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. It's too bad Aardsma overthrew that fastball. Time to start hitting more consistently. I wish we still had Gload on the roster to back-up PK. I wish we had a hitting coach and hitters who knew that line drives and going with the pitch is more effective then uppercut pull swings.
-
QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Thames has been hitting like s***, and Aardsma just missed his spot with that pitch. Look at where A.J. set up and where the pitch was thrown. It doesnt matter. You can still take a fastball low and away deep. He is a good fastball hitter. Lets say it was Konerko up there, and he is struggling like hell, would you still throw him 3 straight fastballs? I doubt it. and PFB, stfu.

PFB is saying it is a miracle in disguise that Boone Logan lost the game...

QUOTE(chisox72 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) I call BS on that one... Zoolander is 1-4 with an ERA north of 7 against us.... This should have been a W. Period. Yeah, I was about to say the same. The White Sox can hit hard throwing pitchers... they can't handle the soft tossing pitchers who go down and away.

Sad news about Cintron and his grandfather. But, the good news is now, we have 2 scrubs on our roster who would not be on any other team in the majors.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) Is this one of those magical "other 40" games that Hawk always talks about? You know, win 60, lose 60... Just thinking about Paul Konerko right now makes me sick. lol, I hear ya about PK. I am one PK's biggest fans, but right now, I would like to play with his blood with you. 0-6, 3 K's, 1 pop out, 1 FC, and 1 GIDP, with what, 7-10 runners left on base? Disgusting.
-
Oh, and I never even thought of Thornton (thanks to fathom bringing that up). He has been the least used reliever (outside of Logan, of course). Why not let him close it? And anyone else really wondering what the F AJ was thinking by calling for 3 straight fastballs to a good fastball hitter in Thames? He was sitting dead red fastball, and while it was bad location, a fastball should not have been thrown there. In fact, I didn't like that whole sequence to Thames. First pitch should have been a slider, to get Thames thinking, and make slow his bat down.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) You're not serious are you? I am 100% serious. 5-3, against a good Tigers club. This was a must win game. You can't expect to win the division let alone the wildcard if you are blowing games like these.

Also, a couple comments on Ozzie useage of the pitching. 1. Why take out Garland in the first place? Besides the 1st inning, no one even came close to hitting Garland. Why not let him finish it? He only had thrown 102-3 pitches, which is pretty good. 2. Why not actually put your closer in? I have nothing against Aardsma, and that was horrid pitch calling by Pierzynski, but in a game close like that, shouldn't you put your closer in? 3. Why take out Masset and put in Logan? This one, I really don't understand. Granderson, besides for his leadoff double, had done nothing the whole game, and everyone knew Leyland would pinch hit Monroe if Logan came in. Plus, the rest of the hitters after Granderson are righty. So, this would be Ozzie's 2nd blown game, correct?

Well, watching that game from the 9th til the end was like watching Rosie O'Donnel strip.

I think its because of me growing up as a huge stars fan, that any thing other then the original isn't right for me... I hate change.

What the hell??? Why is the Wii so hard to find still?
BearSox replied to Kid Gleason's topic in SLaM
Wii is a good party console. Have a bunch of friends over and swing away with the remotes. But for "gaming", it is the worst. xbox 360 is the best right now because of all the games it has already, but ps3 should eventually become no. 1 for gaming. Wii looks like it could get really boring. The only good game it seems they have also is the new Zelda game. But it is a cheap system. Some games I am looking forward to for the ps3... Fear: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/fear/index.html I have heard good things about the computer version and xbox version, and I hear it has great online play. And Sierra usually makes very good game. Comes out in 2 days. Rainbow Six Vegas: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/rainbow...egas/index.html I love all Tom Clancy games, and this one looks flat out awesome. I can't wait. Comes out May 22. Rogue Warrior: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/roguewarrior/index.html I am a bit unsure about this game, but I have always wanted a massively multiplayer online game that wasn't with mystical crap, but with military guys, and such. It seems like your team picks a base, the other team picks a base, and the middle area would be completely random, and I read something that there would be like over 1000 possibilities. Comes out June 1. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/graw2/index.html Practically the same reasons I want Vegas. This comes out June 26. NCAA Football 2008: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/ncaafootball08/index.html Looks great, and I can't wait. Comes out around July 15. Some other games that might be good: The Club, The Outsider, Lair, and Warhawk -
He has about what, 7 different types of pitches?

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:51 AM) Dude, Sweeney has like 30 homer potential in his prime. He's good; he's not the premier prospect in the White Sox system. Of any White Sox prospect, he's the most likely for success, but that just means he'll be a good #2 hitter, maybe an adequate to good #3; that's not huge numbers, nor huge power numbers like Carter may be able to put up. Well, I was talking in terms of something like 35-40 homer potential. Sweeney has 25-30, IMO.

THIS DATE IN WHITE SOX HISTORY: APRIL 22ND (The fight!)

QUOTE(Heartattack19 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) My dad and i were in the Left Field Blechers. I thought it was going to be a long day when Wendall McGee hit a homer for the tigers. I remeber Tanyon Sturtze threw the second beanball and the hit battsman did not charge (maybe Dean Palmer?) but it was someone from the dugout! I carry the ticket stubb with me all the time and have met three or four other people who also were at that game. It is in the top three games i have ever been to! Well, it was one of the better brawls you'd ever see. -

I remember Foulke was getting beat, and then PK came out of know where and took that guy out, or something like that... those were the days. Do you have a list of everyone ejected? -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:57 AM) http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/viewpoll.as...submit=Vote+%3E How sad is this poll question on Chisox.com? Can someone please explain to me why this organization believes Erstad is God's gift to baseball? I can't believe I used to post there...

quick note about Cotts... he has been unhittable for the Cubs this season, and lefties only have gotten something like 1 hit out of 15 tries against him. Aardsma still rocks his socks though.
