QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:23 PM) Who, Len Casper the Friendly Ghost and Jonny Cakes? what are they saying... I mean, I could easily see Hawk saying "Wow, what fire, maybe this will turn things around" Brenly just said it's gonna take awhile to figure out this mess. Kasper was just saying it was a strange day at the ballpark today.

Can't wait to hear the press conference about this. Lou's gotta be thinking "what the f*** did I get myself into"
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Zambrano sucks this year and has never been good in AL parks. I'll pass. I agree with you santo.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) they totally did, Lee rushed back there, Rich Hill came out and got Lou. That team is a mess. Zambrano really must be an idiot if he went after Barrett again in the clubhouse. The guy is a free agent, and he is gonna risk getting hurt in fight, and possibly jeopardizing his career. What a f***in moron. I wouldn't want this guy on my team never. He is a f***in nut!!
-
They just showed it again on WGN, and after the incident, it looks like they might have went at it again in the clubhouse.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) Exactly this can be turned into a positive if it brings out a better effort. Guillen is the kind of guy that can get through to Zambrano. Guillen can't get through to the players he has now.
-
His velocity was 95-97 last year consistently. Today he touched 94 a few times but was throwing 90-92 pretty much all game.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) If they could sign him, I'd trade any pitcher on the White Sox for him. Not me I'll pass. His velocity is way down, and he is just too f***ing emotional. He's got something wrong with him both physically and mentally if you ask me.
-
He walked off the field, and went into the dugout and had a few words with Barrett, and then just took a swing at him and they started going after each other. Barrett was just protecting himself. Zambrano was getting rocked, I guess he just snapped. His market value is going DOWN!!
-
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He f***ing took a shot at him right in the dugout, theyy had to break him and Barrett up. He is a f***ing nut job!! And we think the Sox have problems!! hahahaha
-
He just took a swing at Barrett in the Cubs dugout!!!!!

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Here's my thinking: with the Sox likely replacing Crede with Josh Fields this offseason, that should really clear up a lot of payroll. If the Sox don't bring back Buehrle, they better be in the hunt for guys like Ichiro. I'm thinking the same thing fathom. I really think they are gonna make a run at Ichiro this offseason.
-
I'm anxious to see what Owens can do. I hope he can bring a spark to this team. Lord knows it needs one!!
-
I guess signing him is possible, but highly unlikely. I would love if they did, but I'm not sure if that is an option anymore. I just don't know how much we could get in return for him from teams knowing he is a FA after the season. I just don't have much confidence in KW trading away players and getting value for them. I know the Mcarthy trade looks to be a good one so far, but KW just reminds me a Jerry Krause in alot of ways. He likes to think he is smarter than everyone else, and I just don't have confidence in him, especially if we are going into fire sale mode.
-
We need to find a way, anyway, to get this win tonight. Otherwise I am gonna go f***ing nuts!!!!

Current trade market analysis

QUOTE(pale_hose @ May 31, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) Why not Dye and Lance Broadway for Carl Crawford? -
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) Well Diego here is a tip. Take a gander at the attendance sheets, and how much money the team takes in. Thats pretty much what will be reinvested into the club the following year. So hopefully they pull it out of their asses, because if they suck and attendance takes a dump you might not see it this year, but in 2 you will see a payroll hit. Here is the simple math of it. If Buerhle wants to get paid similiar to what he gets today for 4 years he will be a whitesox. If he wants Zito or more money, he will be traded and we will see him on another team. Its not a matter of opening pursetrings. Its about being sane. 5 to 6 years for a ton of money isnt going to happen. I really don't think attendance will suffer like it did before we won the World Series. You figure we aren't gonna resign Dye, or probably Iguchi. Crede will probably be gone at the end of 2008, if not before, so that frees up his salary. I really believe if we become sellers this year, I think Contreras will be gone, at least I hope he is. As I am writing this, Dusty Baker is on BBTN and he is predicting the Whitesox are gonna get white hot in the month of June, and only be 1 game behind the AL central leader!! hahaha All I am saying, I would do everything I could to keep Buehrle around. I'm not sure if he is gonna get Zito money, I know their numbers are comparable, but Zito also won a Cy Young, Mark hasn't. Plus the market is better this year for statring pitchers. I guess I am just hoping we hang on to this guy.
-
I wouldn't trade Jenks. He gets the job done. Why would we get rid of him??
-
I know alot of people want to see BA, but in reality, I don't think we are ever gonna see BA again on the big league club. It's pretty obvious they are done with him.
-
I really hope JR opens the purse strings and resigns Mark. He is a reliable starter who in my eyes is the face of the Whitesox. He will be a big help with Danks I also believe, so that is just another reason to keep him. I'm not sure you will be able to get enough talent in return for Mark, just for the simple fact that he is a free agent next year. Teams aren't gonna give alot up for him, just for that reason alone. The best things is to resign him to a 4 year deal with an option for a 5th. JR and KW need to do whatever they can to keep this guy!!

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) So Vazquez is not a good pitcher? Vazquez is a headcase. Sure he might pitch 200 innings, but he isn't worth 11 million a year. I would take Lilly over Vazquez any day. But if this trade f***s us in terms of resigning Buehrle, then KW is a bigger f***ing asshole than I thought he was.
-
I really hope we sign Buehrle. He is the last guy I want to see traded.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) problem is, I think the Sox will feed off a weak NL in June and they'll be in sniffing distance at the trade deadline. Not that means that I think the way they're constructed/playing they're better than you say they are, but they'll have the illussion and Ozzie and KW will buy it The way we are playing, I don't think we have to worry about feeding off anyone.
-
We just aren't a very good team. Our offensive approach at the plate is terrible. I don't think anything will help this team at all right now. It's gonna be a long summer I think.
