  1. I calling a grand slam for Pagan. it's just too damn predictable!!!
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Plus s***ty minor league numbers and stuff that doesn't match the pre-season scouting report. There's not a thing to like about this guy. But KW said he is just a tick below Jenks!! But then again KW is a f***ing jagoff!!!
  3. Good job on that bullpen KW. You f***ing moron!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) Better trade Dye before we can't get anyone for him. I don't think you could get anyone for him now.
  5. I can't take much more of this s***. I'm gonna f***in put my foot right through my big screen, I am so frustrated with this team!!!!
  6. What the f*** are these guys swinging at!!!!!!!!
  7. Let's see if we can get a hit this inning. I say we score 2 this inning.
  8. If we do trade Buerhle, I have a feeling alot of people are gonna be disappointed with what we get in return. You're not gonna get the top prospects from teams, for a player that isn't under contract for next year. I guess we will see what happens.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 08:23 AM) Would you mind posting the deal that was offered to Mark because by all accounts I have heard, including the slip from Hawk and Kenny at Soxfest, it was NOTHING remotely close to what Vaz got. My fault it was reported that it was the same deal as JV got. I heard it on CTL from Phil Rogers I believe. The point is, sign the f***ing guy to a contract he deserves.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) It's not like he extended Vazquez then offered that same deal to Buehrle. Mark was offered an extension at the All-Star break last season and he turned it down, Vazquez signed his deal 7 months later. I understand that. But it's an insult. How do you offer your ACE the same contract that you ofeer to a guy that is no where near the caliber pitcher as MB. Actually it's emabarrasing for the orginazation in my eyes. I say you offer MB 5/80. That's fair and if he decide to turn that down, then I will say that KW and JR did all they could to try to keep him. But to offer him last year at the All Star break and ext. for 3/33, is just a slap in the face and in embarrasing.
  11. Well I should have said KW and JR. My fault. But to me it's both of their faults. My anger is at KW for basically offering MB the same contract he offered JV before the season started. That is a slap in the f***ing face as far as I am concerned. How do you offer a guy who is 40 games over .500 for you in his carrer, the same contract that you give to a guy, who has been absolutely s*** for you?? I don't get it at all. That's what makes me angry. I understand he had a bad 2nd half lst year, but that still is a bunch of s***. The guy is you ACE plain and simple.
  12. All I have to say that if stupid ass KW gives the headcase known as Javier Vazquez a 3 year 33 million dollar extension, then he better not even hesitate to give a guy who is your ACE, has been the face of this orginazation and a class act, and someone who has helped bring you your first World Series title in 88 years, and also is only 28 years old, give the f***ing guy 5 years and 80 million contract without hesitation. But knowing KW and his smugass attitude he'll trade him for some scrubs that he says our scouts have been wanting for a long time. Reward the guy for his service to your orginazation, if he doesn't then what does that say for future players that come here. KW gives Vazquez 3/33, abd this guy hasn't done jack s*** to help this team win. The guy isn't even a .500 pitcher for his career. Give Buerhle the contract he deserves, and take care of your own!!! 5/80
  13. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Seeing how this season is really out of control, sorry there are to many things that need to be fixed including 2 outfielders, a shortstop, and all but one bullpen pitcher for the White Sox to believe they have a chance. This weekend could really help my psyche........why you ask???? I am one of those people who hates the cubs as much as I like the Sox, both cause me a tremendous amount of angst. Well this weekend the Brewers host the Royals and the beloved Sox host the cub. A sweep by the Brewers and the Sox and the Chicago baseball season is essentially done. You see, the jist of why I hate the cub so much can be typified as follows; They traded a good player and a player they needed to win and there is little negative media vibe. Barrett was thought of as a drag to the team. Nice media spin to benefit the cub but is this not a White Flag deal or at least at this time treated as one? The cub are still in the race and have zero catching depth. Blanco's career may be over. The media does not grill them at all. Listen to the media and you'd get the impression that the Sox are 50 games under and the cubs in the thick of it. They both have the same number of losses! The Sox are being treated as an organization in ruins becasue their division and league are very very good. The cub are trearted as a legitimate franchise because........they are 8 out in a terrible league. Come on, Ted Lilly has an ERA of 4 in the NL and Marquis is slipping into 2006 form each and every day. Instead of telling of the success the White Sox have had over the last 17 years the media covers them like they lost 90 games last year and once again they suck, come on. Sorry if this sounds like a typical b****ie, whining, jealous Sox fan but hey I need to get fired up to throw hands at the cell the next three days and this is what I choose. Go Sox! I seriously doubt any team will sweep one another. It's always a good series, so, yes I guess we can hope for a sweep, but odds are against it. As for caring what the media or anyone else thinks about the Cubs chances, to tell you the truth, I don't even care anymore. Ever since 2005, I could care less about the Cubs and what they do. Both teams are garbage, which is sad in a city as big as Chicago. But I could care less about the Cubs and whatever they do. This Sox team is terrible and that's the only thing that bothers me. And I don't have much confidence in KW improving this team at all. I think alot of people are overvaluing our players, as far as Dye, Buerhle as the trade deadline approaches, and I have a feeling people are gonna be shocked and pissed by the players we get if we do decide have a firesale. I guess we will see what happens, but I predict alot of pissed of Whitesox fans if trades go down!!
  14. I was optimistic after the first game against Florida, but after being at the game yesterday and just seeing this team play, I can no longer be optimistic at all. We really need to trade away as many players as we can, and get some new blood in here. This team is just really in a bad way right now, and I don't see it getting any better anytime soon. One thing I do want in a bad way is URIBE OF THIS f***ING TEAM. I can't stand him, and I want him gone ASAP. He is a bum in the field and at the plate.
  15. Just got back from the game. Garland looked good. Uribe is a f***ing piece of s***. The sooner we get rid of this clown the better. He is useless. If we are gonna have a firesale, I pray that he is included because he is a BUM!!! DYE is a BUM!!! Garland gives up 3 hits, and loses the game. UNREAL!!!
  16. I am starting my first gamethread ever. I am leaving for the game in a few minutes. Bunch of us guys rented a bus an are heading down early to get in some tailgating. Hopefully Garland is on his game today, and the offense comes alive and we will see a Whitesox victory. Should be a beautiful day, just need a Whitesox winner and it will be complete.
  17. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) This team seems pretty loose right now... like even as a fan it feels like there is no pressure. I think KW will see if the team can first get to .500 before the all star break. (13-5) If they can do that, I can see KW pulling off a deal for some speed in the OF and possibly even trading some prospects for decent relievers. KW says he made some calls already but the other teams aren't biting. I wonder what those calls were about?! Anyway, lets get the series win tonite!! I agree 100%. I think this team is gonna go on a tear in the next 3 weeks. I don't know exactly why I feel that, I just have that feeling they are gonna get white hot and turn this season around. Hopefully I'm right.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:18 AM) Define how you would want Williams to 'go for it.' Which players would you prefer he aquire -- bullpen arms, OF help? What trading chips would you be willing to surrender for such players, knowing full-well we're still ~5 games out of playoff contention? Isn't this percisely the problem, forsaking prospects for assitance when we're nowhere near guaranteed to reach the playoffs? Well if we get to be only 5 games out by the All star break, after the way we played the first 2 and a half months of the season, then I would be ecstatic. I would definitely try to improve the bullpen, maybe even one of the starters, preferably Contreras, if we could get an upgrade. I would have to wait and decide what else I would do until I see what is on the market, and see who has improved and who hasn't. It all depends on what I would think the team needs at that time. I can't see into the future, i wish I could but I wasn't blessed with that ability. This is all based on if they can ctach fire thses next 19 games. If they can't, then all bets are off, and I agree we back the truck up and unload whoever we can, and build up for the future.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:13 AM) Right now Dye is probably the best and least expensive bat on the market since Krivsky is asking for like 8 major league players in exchange for Adam Dunn. In 3-4 weeks Dunn's price could have dropped and be dealt off to LA for some young talent taking away a possible suitor for Dye. The Diamondbacks fall out of the race along with the Twins so Arizona is no longer interested in Jermaine and the Twins decide to sell off Hunter to the Padres for whatever the f*** they offer up, who knows. So it's July 23rd and KW is left with Jermaine Dye on his roster and no real obvious suitors for him. At least at the moment you know you control the market with no other bats available and 3 division rivals vying for the services of Jermaine Dye, a few weeks from now and everything could change. You really think someone is gonna give you alot for Dye?? I don't think so. I don't think the D-backs are gonna fall out of the race anytime soon. I don't think the Twins will unload Hunter until the last possible second, meaning IF they do, it will be close to the deadline. You are gonna have alot of teams looking to add players closer to the deadline. You're right about things changing in a few weeks though, we may have caught fire, and got back into this race, or if anything some of our players might have increased their trade value. I guess we will see and one of us will be right. If you are, I'll give you your props.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:03 AM) The 'big deal' here concerns the value of any current player on the trade market. With Dye, Williams can risk keeping him around until the All-Star break. His value is quite low, and even if he doesn't improve we can always hold onto him and anticipate Type-A compensation. With Buehrle, however, three starts leading up to the All-Star break may have a transverse effect if he struggles. Receiving draft picks for Mark doesn't quite seem like an attractive option considering his current value. This 2007 White Sox club isn't winning anything. Why exactly should they be given an additional two weeks when they've had three months to prove themselves. Suggesting Konerko notices something from the team that fans don't is ridiculous as well. Especially when it involves onfield performance. Well the only player right now that has any value as far as their performance this year is Buerhle. He has 4 more starts I believe until the All star break, against the Cubs, D-rays, Baltimore, and the Twins. He has been throwing pretty well lately so I'll take my chances, plus you dont' even know who is looking to trade for him or what they are willing to give for him. It's early yet. The trade deadline is July 31st, not June 31st. There is plenty of time. As for Dye, and Iguchi, right now you probably wouldn't get much in return with the way they have performed this year. What's the big deal if you wait a few weeks and see what happens, maybe they will increase thier trade value. I'm not saying this team is gonna win anything. But who is to say they don't catch fire and go 15-4 or better these next 19 games. I'm not saying they will, but I'm not saying they can't. Anything is possible. All I'm saying is give them until the All Star break, if they don't turn it around, then let the firesale begin. As for me saying about Konerko seeing something that the fans don't, maybe he does. Maybe he sees signs that he thinks this team can turn it around. Maybe attitude in the clubhouse or maybe he can see signs the offense is coming around. Which it looks like it is. I just don't see the big deal of waiting a few weeks.
