Well I only saw the man from the neck up, so I can't comment on his weight, but yes he does look old. He doesn't look that old in the commercials he does. He was all smiles last night and chit-chatting with folks as he headed to that high rollers room, but he probably CAN'T be an ass when he's there or folks would be upset with Casino management. I still jam my REO Greatest Hits cd at least once a month. Not a big fan of the others, though.

I agree with you, SS. The Pads need him more then anyone with Hoffman, Witasik and Villafuerte still out. However I hate White, I think he is a cancer on the mound and will only get worse (I don't care if he has retired 8 of the last 9 batters), and Acevedo has killed us in the past. Part of the reason the Sox think highly of Acevedo is how he pitched against them last year. He gave up no earned runs in 111/3 innings, allowing 11 hits and two walks. Then again, how he has done against the Twins and other contenders I have no clue.

I used to school the Hollywood in Aurora (or is that one in Joliet and the Empress in Aurora?). They have great dealers there that are really into it, and that's the key. I have finally found MY casino. The other two we got here are way too tight. Funny thing is, before the past two months I hadn't been to this casino in like 4 years. Back then, this particular casino had jokers in the blackjack decks, and if the dealer got a joker he automatically beat the table, no matter what his other card was. Same goes for the players, but it was rare. You also had to pay 50 cents for every $10 you bet, for the Indians. California passed a law to get rid of that s***, finally. I saw The Gambler last night....my cousin Kenny Rogers. He does commercials for this casino and frequently visits. I saw him walk right past my table with a flock of people heading for the high rollers table. I swear I was even then and that changed my luck.

Not a problem. I didn't get to see the game last night because of stinkin WCIU, so I took the Casino for another $200.

And that makes the D the winner, with myself the only one picking him.

No I just meant the lineups that they posted for today. I mean, Alou might be coming around now, but they bring up that kid Kelton solely to DH because he was doing so well in the minors and they don't start him? Troy O'Leary in left for Alou. Makes a lot of sense. And I know the Dodgers and Astros have to have better bench hitters to DH then Coomer and Merced.

Funny...I love double standards. You and I both have booed Sammy Sosa all throughout his career. Who cares how he played, he is getting booes from myself and sox fans. Yet it is not ok to boo jsg if you are a dev's fan, after a long fought bitter series? :fyou hypocrits I'll tell you what....if the Sox won the World Series against the Cubs and Sammy took the MVP trophy, I'd cheer for Sammy cause I got what I wanted and obviously it was a team and not an individual effort.

Ahhh the joys of being in fantasy leagues with people who have no clue. I must have grabbed Mark off waivers in a dozen league recently. I think the runs will come for him, and he'll finish with at least a .500 record.

Ahhhh dang! I'm actually glad I missed most of the game because I went to the casino again for an hour before picking up the roomate from the airport and won $300. They had the game on there anyways, but I couldn't bare to watch. And they booed JSG I hear after he won the Connsmythe trophy. New Jersey is such a dump.

Are you sure he was called up? Wasn't Willie on our DL and taking BP the other day in LA? And how has Burke been doing in the minors? I remember how surprised everyone was with him in spring training...

As a "part-time" Padres fan living in SD, I can tell you they got this guy because of his defensive presence behind the plate. He has a gun, and blocks balls in the dirt very well. They traded for him (and Kingsdale was highly touted too) thinking he can return to his minor league hitting form in AAA a few years back. I have no clue why they gave up on him and not Wiki Gonzalez, but I can tell you the sports radio channel I listen to was ripping Kevin Towers for trying to sneak him through waivers and now getting no compensation for him. Kudos to KW for this one.

After tonight's game 7, I'm going to be bored out of my mind unless the Sox go on a Mariner-type tear. Wishful Thinking. Anyways, the Devils might have let the momentum slip away when Sullivan creamed Kariya on Saturday and he ended up scoring the goal to put them away. GO DUCKS!

Malone could very well come to Chicago this offseason. It's very unlikely he'll go to the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq there as a third option, and in Dallas he'd be a 4th option behind Dirk, Finley and Nash. With the Bulls (and a good relationship he already has with Paxson unlike Krause), he's be the #2 option at WORST. Think about the lineup: Rose Crawford Curry Chandler Malone and a bench that includes: JWill (unless traded) Marshall Fizer Mason draft pick (unless traded) It makes for a decent squad that could very well be the #6 seed at best for the playoffs.

We could sign Jermaine O'Neal for less then we'd have to give up for KG and get almost the same production. My dream is to see both O'Neal and Karl Malone in Bulls uni's this year, but that will never happen.
