  1. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) If the media plays up the interview as "total truth". It is their job to question things, not just go along with the politically correct version of a story. Plays up? Perhaps. Would prefer if the media could not advertise? That seems to be where they get into trouble. The breaking news alerts and stay tuned kind of stuff.
  2. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) lol That is so wrong
  3. Magazine company just called, fake contest with "free" just pay postage offer. After listening I started fake crying and said I would love to get the magazines, but I can't read.
  4. Someone makes a statement, the media points a camera at him and broadcasts it to the world. Later the statements that person makes is found to be false. Has the media done anything wrong? To have them not point their camera and broadcast until they could prove something correct, would cripple media. That's the difference between history books and the daily newspaper. It is far from perfect but the alternative would mean never reporting a crime until someone is convicted.
  5. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) The problem to me is there should be an apology by the media, Al, Jesse, everyone for jumping on the badwagon and linking events that weren't even connected. The story which couldn't be avoided if you turned on a tv, was never corrected. Probably more than half the country thinks what was reported back then was fact and I just think it's wrong. I'm sorry you don't feel that way. If I lived in that town I would be pissed. I'm not saying I don't feel that way, but coming up with the avenue to correct this stuff is daunting. To match the same intensity of coverage they would have to hold daily press conferences for a couple weeks with someone new coming out and saying they were wrong, misled, etc. Seriously, how many viewers wouold keep tuning in to hear that?
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) Mine wasn't either. I was feeling good most of the day too and than it came on out of nowhere. feeling good, then throwing up!? Where have I heard that before? Where you feeling really good? Like bullet proof?
  7. Most coaches seem to have one way to teach, two at most. When that method matches with the players on the team, great. The question is thus, is Walker the best coach for this group of players? No disrespect to his genius, but maybe it's just a bad match.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) Hahaha, touché! You are right, I never have spelled his name correctly.
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Mt. Olympus, formerly known as Treasure Island. Indoor waterpark and indoor amusement park. They are still in transition mode so there were numerous things to be disappointed by. But, all in all, it was a good time. http://www.donqinn.net/ We stayed at the Don Q Inn several times in the early 1990. Theme suites. Very cool. Close by.
  10. Obama is claiming he coined the phrase fired up?
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) Went to the Dells. Where did you stay?
  12. Texan for McCain, oh yeah, he was President also.
  13. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 12:08 PM) When those mistakes are never acknowledged by anyone there's a big f***in problem. And what is the problem? What should be the final outcome of the Jenna 6?
  14. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) I don't know if it's the same owners, but I was thinking of the Pat's on Sheffield just south of Belmont by the Vic Theatre. Mmmmm. Nope, different owner. They both have been around for a long time.
  15. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Well there's always this old thread as well. Pat didn't write this one..is that any better?? What point are you trying to make? Yes, occasionally there are mistakes and what on the surface is blamed for racism, turns out not to be. Rejoice and be glad. But to believe there is no racism in America is wrong.
  16. If there was, I think Clinton would have used it to bail out of the Lewinsky affair. It was my dooooouble . . .
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) me neither. But I know it pissed off the Sox Boras always seems to have the top top shelf free agents we probably would never sign. Easier to paint him the villian. Not that he's all wrong, but the Sox management has a great cover.
  18. One thing I think we all can agree on, last November would have been the best time to make a change if one was coming. Once the hitters report, I believe you keep the staff until the season is over. A mid season change in hitting coach just isn't worth it.

    Cell Phone PDAs

I've been looking at the t-mobile Dash, anyone have one, comments? Other PDA phones? I'm looking to snyc with Outlook, and do not seem to need a crackberry, but would consider it if I saw some feature that I could not live without. Basically I'm in my home office most of the time, it is only when I'm in meetings I need to add appointments, look up contacts, etc. I'd also like a to do list that is easy to use. I just don't think I would be sending emails and surfing the web.
  20. half hour hard on my bike. Even though we are having some great weather, somehow putting it on the wind trainer, plugging in the iPod and riding seems easier.

    Ebay's demise

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 10:40 AM) because no buyer has ever sent a bad check or money order to a seller. The seller waits until it clears. Then if it is a bad Money Order or check the buyer gets a non payment ding.
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 10:51 AM) Yeah...don't focus on the story or anything... He does have an agenda, like it or not, that is part of the story.
  23. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 10:41 AM) Past season. If you want to give Greg Walker all of the blame for the Sox poor hitting last year, you're going to have to give him all of the credit for their great hitting in 2006. fair enough, here's some bags to help with your packing and in the envelope you'll see the credit for all the good you did.
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 18, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) I understand he's not the President, but you'd think the VP could get his name spelled right after 7+ years in office! Oops, John Chaney
