  1. I have to, and don't be offended, y'all (especially Kap) I found this BMW dealership that will let me use my stimulus check as a down payment on any one of their cars I'll only be able to drive it for a few weeks, but then I just have to call the media and I'll be out of the contract Where else can you rent a sweet ride for $300?
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 08:02 AM) "Pizza Wars - Chicago vs New York" was on the travel channel last week, and at the end of the show they lined up firefighters from a New York firehouse and a CHicago firehouse to eat Pizza from the other side. The New Yorkers were just plain ignorant, most of them wouldnt even try the pizza because they couldnt bend it in half and shove it down their throats. Just the idea of using a fork and a knife was offensive to them. At least all of the Chicago firefighters tried the pizza. That show sucked. I don't care if you have crappy taste and don't like something, but those guys were the stereotypical New York assholes. The Chicago guys showed the class that is Chicago.
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) 1-800-LOU-TO-GO. You're welcome. Tried it a couple times, not the same. But thanks.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Oh now you went and done it. I have to go find a crooked BMW dealer that will sell me my first Beamer for $100K with no money down and take you for a ride when you come back up here. But you can afford it, you have to find someone to sell you a $500,000 car, and then I can go kick his ass Then we head to Mexico and find the %#()$ tattoo artist who gave me the Israel4Ever Tat
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) I guess I missed that part. The point was made earlier by YAS that he and I come at things from the left and right but agree on a lot of stuff. I was merely pointing out that we can view Jesus as a GOP, REP, or, as PA pointed out, a Libertarian. I seriously did not mean to offend you or mock your earlier comments.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) Are you going to go through every thread on soxtalk and mock this s***? Let it the hell go already. Sorry. I meant no offense, I was joking with YAS.
  7. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) There is no other style than Lou's deep dish. All others are just imitators. I miss Lou's sausage pizza.
  8. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) I think a lot of people use the forums as a tool to portray themselves a certain way with no consequences. Ive never met anyone from any of these forums before so its hard to gage how some people are in real life but theres that occasional ass hat that you know is full of s*** In person is totally different. I can't wait to get back up to Dallas to see Kap. I'll bet crooked BMW salespeople and stupid consumers will never be mentioned
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) One difference, Giambi got lightyear, Masset worked off his fat and put on muscle (which would not be an indicator of cycling off). I for one am happy. The guy has a great build for a pitcher and pretty good stuff (not as great as we were expecting, but it is solid). QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) There's a difference between tubby to toned and ripped to natural. If Masset had dropped 20-40 pounds of muscle (Javy Lopez, Ivan Rodriguez, etc.) it'd be a different story. Exactly
  10. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 01:20 PM) Am I the only one who opened this and expected it to be about Ron Paul? The it would have been in SL&M, this forum is for real candidates
  11. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 01:18 PM) or get a job as a BMW salesman...apparently they're making bank off stupid people these days.
  12. QUOTE(almagest @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) Seems like someone reports 25 lbs lighter to camp every year. Didn't Uribe already do this like 5 times? If they are on an opponent's team that means they quit juicing, if they are on your team, they worked out, quit the junk food, and got in shape
  13. First rule, never discuss Soxtalk
  14. old school lecture hall. Ours are all theater style with rising seats. Much different then I imagined, thanks for posting.
  15. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 10:46 AM) hahaha. She doesn't like BMWs. So she walks into a Chevy dealer and looks at a Corvette. Now we all know if you look at a car that is too expensive for you, anything that happens after that is your fault. You should not be there. After all why else would you be looking Bottom line, if someone salesperson takes advantage of your wife, daughter, son, or mother, the correct answer is stupid idiot, you deserved what you got you went along with it.

    Ebay's demise

    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) thankfully, there's a lot more to protect the buyer than positive/negative feedback. one of those being...BUYER PROTECTION Again, there is more risk for the buyer then seller. Actually there is almost no risk other than someone leaving negative feedback.

    Ebay's demise

    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) Apparently I'm not alone in my frustrations... I will be participating in this eBay boycott. Who has more to lose in the situation. A seller who doesn't ship until they are paid, or the buyer who sends in their money hoping the seller is honest? Seems like eBays plan basically evens the field a little bit. I have a lot more to fear from a bad seller than a bad buyer. A bad buyer may leave me nagative feedback because he didn't like the item, a seller could take my money and run.
  19. Are y'all saying we were stupid and signed a bad deal and now should not follow it :faints: It seems we should have known that individuals were also contributing. That our corporations were also contributing.
  20. http://food.yahoo.com/blog/sliceamerica/37...-style-of-pizza The anti-Chicago ~ East Coast bias is b.s. but the article isn't bad. I think many are sub-genres of others, but still a decent summary of all things pizza.
  21. I very close friends of mine was lurking in a few threads and she commented that I have a completely different personality online than I do in "real life". Thinking over the past couple years of face to face conversations, and excluding my lying, cheating, ex-wife I have been in a total of one argument where I even raised my voice. Most people in real life will say I have the patience of a Saint. Usually I am the jester in the corner egging people on and telling jokes. So I'm starting to wonder, are online forums and such a chance to act out in ways you would not face to face, are they an outlet for areas in your life you can not otherwise express, are some people just bad at written communications? In other words, why am I the angry asshole on the boards and a sweetheart in real life, including on the telephone?
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 11:23 PM) Consider this contructive criticism. By you taking care of all the finances you are doing her a disservice. If something happens to you 5 years from now, she's going to be completely lost and totally stressed if she has to deal with it. The financial issues should be, on regular basis, a team effort. For example, every month, you both sit down and work out the budget. Eh ... you get my drift. It's only my opinion, but it's one I feel strongly about. Someday she may have to walk into a car dealer . . .
  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) Well, it would be good because it would recommit the US to providing the amount of world poverty reduction assistance (as a percentage of GDP) we agreed we would provide 35 years ago. It would also push us to ratify the CBD, Kyoto, small arms reduction, and a few other treaties we have not yet ratified, so there's another benefit. The US signed onto the UN's lofty goal of reducing by half the amount of world poverty by 2015. That's not going to happen if member nations don't step up and make it happen. But if they were stupid enough to believe us, it is their fault BTW, it seems that Hillary will be making a second appearance in my area. I wasn't motivated to drive 20 minutes to see her, but since she will be about 3 minutes away this week, I guess I will wander over and hear what she has to say.
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) But only when surrounded by people who have the same POV. Any other time, the mention of God is 'inappropriate'. But you can mention Howard Stern anytime
