Who is dieting?
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:08 AM) A pound?!!? A stinking pound is all I lost this week?!! Grrr. I'm now firmly in the part of the diet where the pounds aren't just dropping off anymore. Depressed now. . . . think I'll have ice cream and alfredo sauce for breakfast. Hope y'all do a lot better than me. You jerk! I found your pound Here is my excuse. I was merely eliminating the bad calories from my frige before embarking on the diet. The cheese cake mistake was consumed, along with the "just scoop and eat cheese cake filling" w/o crust. (that saved a few calories).

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 07:52 AM) Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod. . . THEY'RE LISTENING IN ON OUR THOUGHTS NOW!!! This is the very kind of personal intrusion us conspiracy theorists have been warning you about for years. Not only that, one of our own SoxTalkers is openly advocating for and condoning this activity. Time to stock up on the heavy duty tinfoil now and keep the political parties out of my head. Professor Jim

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) Let me put it this way. If someone decided your job was too important to the public, and that you now had to do twice as much work at half the pay, would you still be doing it? Who would be working for half the pay?

Catch-All Anything Thread
While on a road trip, an FlaSoxxJim and Mrs. Sox stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant, and resumed their trip. When leaving, the lovely woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table, and she didn't miss them until they had been driving about forty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around, in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, FlaSoxxJim became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained, and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at ]the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car, and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her,'While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and the credit card.'

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) You know another internet money bomb post will be here soon. Then we will ask why is Kucinich, sorry I mean Paul, is still in the race. Then we will get a few Sheep pics and maybe the typical "Well you don't know Ron". After this we will get the usual " I suggest you go to his site and sign up for his Election Pod. once you receive the pod in the mail, sleep on it the following night. Once you wake up, you will feel fresh and new and not like your old self. You will be able to give all to Ron Paul. He only has 14 more million dollars to go to take 3rd place. The 3 delegates he has are frisky and cant wait to bring the message of paul to the convention. Hail Ron Paul leader of the universe." There is a function that candidates like this serve. It is the best way for those factions of the party to have a voice. It is a bit of tilting at windmills, but I believe both parties should hear what all their members are thinking.

Fields thought about walking away
QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) So what's next, we turn into the Colorado Rockies and start banning Playboy and Penthouse in the locker room? Sorry, but I think that's bulls***. People should be allowed to do what they want in the locker room, whether it be cursing, listening to music with parental advisory warnings, reading Playboy, or whatever, so long as it prepares them to perform on the field. If you're an adult (as all of these players are, including Josh Fields) and can't handle other people doing those sorts of things, you should really reevaluate your life. It's a workplace and subject to workplace rules. Why not place a copy of Playboy on your desk at school or at work.

A Word About Your Candidate.
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:21 PM) I've had my say. I'm not going to get into it with you guys. Sure you will, not on this, but we're too old to stop being us No big surprise, but the mods and admins can fling poop better than anyone here. We can also trim the sails and keep an even keel. Sometimes we need that. It seems like this is the time. Peace.

Tax Prep
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) It will ask you a bunch of questions at the beginning, including if you have had any life changes in the last year (new house, job, baby etc). Based on those answers it will walk you through the forms you need, and it will compare whether the standard or itemized deductions are better in your specific case. I have used TaxCut by HR Block for 5-6 years now, and I love it. It is really simple to use. Last year I was really lazy and used H&R on-line. I assumed they used the same program. Now I'm wondering. The price was about the same.

Who is dieting?
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:30 PM) Agreed. And with a spreadsheet set up, having different start dates for each Loser isn't hard. The relevant statistic of % weight loss over x number of days of dieting will be readily comparable regardless of when everybody started. I started at 275 pound like a couple weeks ago

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:28 PM) Good point, but he'd need Romney to support him. On one hand, I can see Romney doing what is best for the conservative movement by endorsing Huckabee. On the other, I can't see him doing so when Huckabee wouldn't step aside for him as the conservative frontrunner. Will be interesting. Do you think they may be considering what is best for their careers The horrors! See what Hillary started

Internet Cables Cut in Middle East
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) Agreed on the bias. It is an intriguing possibility though, and I wouldn't put it past any of them. I still expect us to be at war in Iran before Bush leaves office (if, in fact, he actually does). Just because it is biased doesn't mean it is wrong. Suspect, but not wrong. In fact some of the most rapid, crazies know so much they can be right for all the wrong reasons.

Hillary Clinton - Why the hate?
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) Oh bulls***. Nobody cares, or at least no one cares that matters. I am so glad it distilled to that. Early one it seemed it was getting some traction and that would have been wrong
