  1. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) that's literally, what she said
  2. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 05:38 PM) As I said, send them all home, and make them apply for a guest worker program LEGALLY. Then, I don't have a problem with it. And create the program with less than full benefits. I think it would be incredibly wasteful to send good workers home just to turn around and hire more. That seems like a crippler to our economy. Keep the ones that have p[roven to be good neighbors and deport the rest. And cut taxes 50% so we can afford to do all this.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 07:28 AM) Bobby is an interesting character. On one hand you have to admire and respect the effort he put not only into basketball, but turning his boys into men. You never, ever heard about scandals or problems from ANY of his players, even after they left his programs. On the other hand, his methods left something to be desired. Either way he leaves as one of the all-time greats. gp

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 05:13 PM) no, I hold out until I get feedback....because this wasn't the first time I've run into this kind of unrealistic bidding. So when he gave me negative feedback, I responded with the same, because despite paying ontime (not his only responsibility) he was a terrible eBayer. People think eBay is this amazing place where you can find anything for a good deal...no, that's Amazon.com. eBay is where you find used stuff for dirt cheap. He paid you, was disappointed, and left you negative. You retailated. Classis reason why eBay is choosing keeping sellers honest, who are more of the problems, then buyers.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) Just voted for the first time. Walked right in. no problems. As I was leaving.. a line out the door. Perfect timing Those touch screens are really slick. I like them a lot. especially since they have a paper trail. You Rock Barack! I remember my first Presidential vote
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) You realize that at this point in time in our country, you cannot just build 12 million or MORE people into our social welfare program, right? BTW, this is why the government has looked the other way for decades. As long as we had people to work those low income jobs off the books, it did not cost us as much. Low paid workers, no matter who it is, receive more benefits then they contribute. Student financial aid, police and fire, highways, food, clothing, and shelter, health care. But Kap, we can't keep using illegals, so those jobs will have to go on the books. Like it or not.
  8. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) I remember hearing on NPR recently that a country wasn't accepting dollars anymore...anyone remember which? Texas, aceptamos sí Pesos
  9. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) Given that our economy is mostly electronic with credit cards, debit cards, online, etc., maybe the reasons posted above are enough for the 2/3...but wowsa, that still seems like alot. I was surprised to learn that we are continuing to print more new bills then we retire.
  10. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) 30k posts man. 20k ago you had the right to joke Cause I'm supporting the troops too!
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) You realize that at this point in time in our country, you cannot just build 12 million or MORE people into our social welfare program, right? Right. We need 12,000,000 people to work those jobs that won't qualify for benefits
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) Another interesting thought for the day... With Obama and Clinton seemingly locked into a 50-50 battle with no end in sight, could the big cash advantage that both of them have over McCain be nullified by a protracted and expensive battle for the Democratic nomination? McCain has the potential with a big super Tuesday to all but bury Mitt Romney. He might not be able to clinch, but he could put a big enough lead up to make it futile for Mitt to keep up the expensive fight. If McCain can obtain early victory he can seemingly sit on the sidelines waiting for the bloodied and well spent Democratic opponent to emerge. The other problem with that is it gives the liberal bias media an excuse to not cover everything McCain is doing, like they would if he had an opponent. So he'd have to spend just to keep momentum rolling.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) The Seller, can't give negative feedback... and they're getting rid of it. Hence the "Ebay getting rid of seller negative feedback". I see where the mistake was made. I'm still really not happy with this. I had someone leave me negative feedback when he wasn't happy with the item I sold him, despite CLEARLY describing it. So he paid and I shipped. He was just unrealistic. Perhaps I'm in the minority with my story, but this decision is a poor one and I won't be selling on ebay ever again...and that, the last time I checked, was how ebay made their money...NOT on people buying. bad decision Ebay. Would you have given him negative feedback after he paid on time?
  14. And SS is posting to support our troops, let's all join him.
  15. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) Did the show say that the actual, physical bills (or coins) were overseas? Or just a broad statement about the 'currency' in general, because while that could be possible for the reasons discussed above (plus 'dollarized' economies), 2/3 does seem high given the size of our economy. The show was on counterfeiting bills and yes, they mentioned the actual physical dollars are over seas in circulation.
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) you guys are just un-american go vote for Hillary...hippies.... I'm building sand castles to support our troops!
  17. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) At least we won't be arguing about Erstad vs. Anderson in CF. Sure we can.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) It makes sense to me that if Danks problem was in fact fatugue, that he became afraid to challege hitters early in the count, because he was afraid of his stuff at that point. Instead he was just trying to beat people with the perfect pitch, which usually leads to 3-2 counts and walks. Sometimes it really is just that simple. Nice analysis.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) I'm pretty disappointed I don't lead this one, I'll have to somehow be even more of a pest next year. You are such an idiot for even thinking that cheap joke. No wonder I'm not winning funniest
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 07:59 AM) While it doesn't bother me as much as some, I don't think the jersey is worth much. Personally I think letting troops into games for free (if they do still do that) is a nicer gesture. I also agree that if they really wanted to do something, they could donate a portion of sales of these uni's to places like the VA hospitals, or for families that have lost family members to war, etc. Exactly. The cynic in me sees a marketing ploy to get people into the games and profits for the companies doing these tributes. Let's buy a support our troops magnet and support the 9 year old kid in China that makes them.
  21. Is there a line that gets crossed and then it's a meaningless gesture?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 05:24 PM) Oh, and stay out of the "Food" thread. It doesn't help. Notice the posts are like 3:1 between those threads.
  23. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) It kind of looks like the guy just poked McCain in the eye. The guy even has his finger extended pointing in McCain's direction, as if retracting from the original eye poke. Isn't that President Bush?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) You thought Daniel was the protagonist? He was the most evil character in the movie. Oops sorry, I meant his son, H.W. But after thinking about it some more, the townspeople? Society?
