  1. And I'm just seeing highlights and as we all know, there is always more to the story, it is never perfectly clear.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) She, from what I understand, didn't accost him. She, as citizen of the US and the commonwealth of KY, asked to speak to and question of one of her elected representatives. And to clarify the situation, Ryan wasn't 'on the job'. She was on the street as a citizen. I'll grant the bratty ass kid was way out of line, but still, no politician to have to power to demand someone be fired for questioning them. I'm wondering if she used her position as the Theater Manager to gain access? Since it was at the theater, or am I misreading those statements?
  3. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 11:54 AM) I play with it as often as I can. . . I wonder how many stars that gives me? looks like 5 stars.
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) Yep, because she has to look "tough" to the rest of the world. I think she actually is the toughest of the candidates.
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) 3000 dead American's can change people's minds about how to treat people trying to kill us. And our freedom of speech And our freedom of religion And our freedom from illegal search and seizure etc. And Balta, you are correct. Crossing for the wrong reasons is not a good thing. But not crossing because of some party pressure is not good either.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) Al Gore, you say? Actually three. Hillary's Obama's
  7. Sad that the course of history, worldwide, hinges on who is writing checks to whom.
  8. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 12:36 AM) I don't think Lieberman is that stupid. Regardless of what happens on the Presidential level, odds are a stronger Dem majority in the Senate. That kind of betrayal would wind up with a Lieberman stripped of all seniority. I'd love to see more guys like Lieberman who have the freedom and courage to support either party at times. Imagine if more did cross the aisles based on issues, not labels. I'm dreaming, I know.
  9. I think McCain would receive more party support than the other candidate. McCain has a lot of time invested in the party.
  10. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) My male students. Although, I admit I did have one undergrad girl who seemed to feel that "nice tits" would be an appropriate remark to make to me. And if you were a plastic surgeon, it would be. Hmm, checking google images . . .
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 11:19 AM) McCain needs a good old fashioned bible thumper to be his running mate. He needs someone to pacify the religious right who hate him. And it better be on a "New" fashioned Bible. Just like Romney's Bible is toooo big, Lieberman's Bible is too small to pacify the Religious Right.
  12. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) Does anyone really use the soxtalk "rating system" built into the message board functions? apparently someone thinks I'm 1 out of 5 stars. I think you're being kind... Congrats you are now at 2 stars. Someone plays with it, somehow I have 4 stars.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) My point was that if his wife's health is that bad and he can't handle a hectic week, he has no business in the race or being president. Exactly.
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) I'm telling you, the Clintons don't do a DAMN thing without calculating the ramifications. Don't be surprised if Hillarity gets the endorsement. Unlike the other candidates who just do whatever and hope it works? Would you want a President who doesn't calculate the ramifications? Everyone of them hires the best brain trust they can to get elected. I am certain Edwards and Guiliani weighed when was the best time to drop out to save their careers and boost them forward. They are weighing what endorsing or not endorsing a candidate will do to their careers.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) That's exactly why I said in another thread the he'd win the general if he gets the GOP nomination. His independant streak. I think most of the citizens of the good ol' US of A sick and tired of this partisan BS. You've got your left wing loons and your right wing idiots. Those are the feathers on the tips of the wings, the farthest away from heart of the American eagle. Nicely put.
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) I kind of surprised at Edwards timing on dropping out. One more week, and he's got the opportunity grab quite a few more delegates. He'd then be in a postion play to king/queen maker. The Club management may have strongly urged him to drop out.
  17. Anyone can do a quick check and discover how to beat a lie detector test, but actually doing it is another thing. http://www.wikihow.com/Cheat-a-Polygraph-Test-(Lie-Detector) I'll even do the search. So now no one here should ever fail.
  18. I always worry when we attack someone for making a new decision at a later date. Sometimes it is a great idea and perfectly understandable to change your mind. The I'm going to stick by this decision no matter how stupid or no matter how many peoplke get killed is dangerous. Attack the second decision as right or wrong, but not the changing of the mind. I'd applaud if the second decision was better than the first.
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) Someone tell me, how can they tell the candidates that FL/MI will not count and then consider having them count? That doesn't even sound plausible. Someone needs to explain this to me right now. The thought of Hillary as Pres. makes me a tad queasy. Basically primaries are run by the parties to select who from their "club" will be the nominee. The laws are rather loose. Kind of like if the Steve9347 Party decided they wanted to field a candidate in the General, that party could choose how they selected their candidate. They could decide to hold primaries or they could decide to go on Springer for a winner take all confrontation and studio vote.
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) Actually, according to the polls I've seen, Clinton and Obama both beat the pants off Romney in a general. McCain is the GOP candidate who has a shot. I am projecting what a few months of campagning will do, and the images of the candidates side by side.
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 09:13 AM) Romney can't beat anyone in November, so I'd flip Romney and Obama there. I think the list would be... My resoning was Romney has a much better chance of getting the GOP nomination than Obama getting the Dem. So if he isn'ty going to make step one, it was tough to place him ahead of Romney. Looking at some match ups Clinton - McCain is a race edge Clinton Clinton - Romney is a Clinton winner Obama - McCain is a McCain win Obama - Romney is a race edge Obama
  22. I have two votes, one most likely to get flamed and deserve it and one most likely and not deserving . . . you know, just sayin'
  23. The next President will be one of these four McCain Clinton Romney Obama And I put their chances in that order.
