  1. I agree. But in fairness to our staff, when someone is that lost, it seems that a change in coach always seems to help. Likewise a constant change isn't healthy. William S. Burroughs once said about attorneys that you are just buying their luck. I think position coaches fall into that category. Do we judge Katz by Giolito or Cease? Maybe they have little influence on guys who have been playing for a decade or more and it's just random chance when guys get hot.

My son who teaches reported last week, his students start this Thursday. My wife starts tomorrow and her students start the 15. I have a bunch of coaching stuff this week, kids on the 22nd. It seems like summer just started, now it's over.
  3. That's as good an explanation as I've heard. I wonder if he feels better on one side of the plate over the other.
  4. I could see a few guys getting hot in September. I'm just hoping it's not too late.

I do respect him for his professionalism. He's got to be one of the top priorities for the coaching staff.
  6. Back to School. Running out of time.
  7. I keep thinking he's hurt, but he doesn't look hurt in the field.
  8. I keep thinking he's going to recover.
  9. Truer words have not been spoken. I'm saving this to cut and paste whenever we're talking about another franchise. It applies to all of them. Ok, maybe not the Pirates.
  10. I'm thinking when he first came up. Once he stopped playing every day it went down hill quickly. But that was a long time ago.
  11. Not that I'm comparing their abilities or potential but Frank Thomas played a decent 1st base but DH worked out well for him.
  12. Nope. It's Tony filling out the lineup. Leury will sit for the next couple games.
  13. I agree. It's cause for optimism.
  14. And better coaching. But the manager needs to be awake.
  15. I think at times he's so unhappy with his offense he kind of gives up.
  16. And that's not a bad thing in modern times.
  17. 60% of the time would be a huge improvement.
  18. Hey Tony, with this lead how about giving Leury a little rest today and put that guy you don't recognize in?
  19. I doubt even a change in ownership would be that dramatic. Over 100 years of mediocrity. It's in the DNA.
  20. Not at all. I'm tired of MY bitching. I'm tired of me always hating this organization. Do your own thing. You be you. Thank you, I edited the title for clarity.
  21. Exactly. You be you. I'm not going to tell anyone how they should react to the most disappointing team in the past fifty years.
