I was laughing a little too loud at Nuke's post and my wife came in to see what was so funny. She is mortified I would share that wth y'all. She asked if there were any secrets.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) No relatives?!?!?!?!?! Hell yes! Sign me up! EDIT: In reality, the free ticket will be used to go to another wedding in my friend's never ending quest to remind me of my singleness. . . I may have edited it a bit to make it more appealing.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Hey, thanks for the prompt response. May I venture one more question? Why do you present yourself to the world with a "Shut Up b****" avatar. Do you have any close women friends? I guess that's two questions. Thanks. He's in the Army, of course he has women friends but remember, don't ask ~ don't tell

In the Tex (hey that's me) has a warrant out for his arrest on a speeding ticket

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Just admit what you're thinking Tex. Its a conspiracy by the Bush Administration to silence another of its critics. Now that you mention it he was able to get that drunk driving off his record, he could have done it. LMAO

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) And immediately weaken the depth of one of the best bullpens in the league. Whether Damaso is struggling or not, he's an above average pitcher that has played by the rules for the most part. As far as I know, he's not a clubhouse cancer, and as long as his left arm can still pop it at 94 MPH, it would be foolish to suspend him for the rest of the year. If the Sox need a message, take a look at Carlos Lee. s*** happens, he was late...discipline him and move on. No need to throw gas on the fire. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) The Sox are better on the road anyways. But here is an interesting question; Lets say that the Indians and White Sox tie for the ALCS. Both of them are also tied for the WC with the Yankees. Would the team that lost the playoff game, get a playoff game against the Yankees? Or would by virtue of the extra game, one team be .5 behind the Yankees? SB As a point of clarification, if three clubs finish the season with the same winning percentage and one team will be a division winner and another will be the Wild Card, the games will be played as follows: • The two teams tied for the division lead will play the one-game tie-breaker, with the winner being declared the division champion. • The losing team will then play the club from the other division for the Wild Card. It almost happened last year with Houston, SF, and the Cubs.

15 years ago, when I was travelling extensively, my IT Director told me he used AOL. I lmao until he pointed out they had local POPs everywhere. It was always a local dialup. Now that most hotels have free broadband, I can't think of a reason in the world to stay on AOHell.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) WOOHOO! Got my new credit card (switched to a Northwest Airlines Card--as I usually fly with them) and, after I make my first purchase I will have enough miles to get a free round trip ticket to anywhere in the Continental 48!!!!!!!! Hurray!

It was just pointed out to me that Soxtalk has over 860,000 posts and the other major Sox board, the grandparent wsi, has 836,706. I think the third has a thousand by now, but they will grow. Combined, that is a whole lot of devoted White Sox fans getting together. Plenty of room in the Hotel for fans of all stripes.

I have a one month extension, pending the Judge's decision. I'm contacting Random House about my book Hiding from the Law
-
I am working the community service angle. I am writing a little note to the Judge and request I be assigned Boy Scouts as my project. I already volunteer about 50 hours a month, what's a few more? My backup plan is working as a moderator on a sports related message board, I don't think she's going to go for it. Until they accept, I am still a fugitive

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Hmmm, being in the line of work that is effected by speeding in construction zones...how do I react to this... Saturday 6:30 PM, no barricades, no workers, one sign in a merge area. I would never knowingly speed in a construction zone.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) :puke He better be something special. If he is nothing more than another f***ing Aaron Carter I will be REALLY disgusted by the music industry. 12-year old, 3.6 million, I'm certain it will be an indie sound without much intrusion from Sony.

Speeding in a construction zone. I wonder if I bring my laptop if I can post from jail? Do they have broadband? I need to pay the fine, but first I need to negoatiate. My understanding is, I would need to get pulled over for something else for anything to happen, but still, I think today would be a great day to take care of this.

Nothing like opening the mail to Oops. And it was dated on my birthday. That was such a great day for me. Off to see the Judge.

Guys don't make the All-Star game by accident, especially when there already where players from your team choosen. I've understood some of the anti this or that player rants, but anti-Kong stuff has me baffled. I can't wait for the months of get rid of him and use the money to plug holes comments. And great point ChiSoxfn, PK in the 5th spot would be great. The bat we may have for #4 is good old #35. I'm hoping for that. Gooch, Frank, PK in the 3-4-5 may be the best we can hope for in the off season. At the minimum, it should be the minimum.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) Is getting attacked by a tiger *really* an accident? EARTH TO SIGFRIED AND ROY: IT'S A WILD f***ING ANIMAL!!!!!! IF IT ATTACKS YOU, DON'T BE SHOCKED. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WILD f***ING ANIMALS DO: ATTACK s***! AND IF YOU ARE THE s*** THEY ARE ATTACKING DON'T EXPECT ANY PITY FROM ME!!!!! you are soooooo cool when you rant I thought George Carlin or Dennis Miller joined. And BTW, you are so correct it is amazing that it must be said. One thing that does amaze me, with the notoriously short Hollywood, entertainment, marriages, these two have been together a very long time. To work together, and then these past two years, these two must really love each other.

In re-reading some of these posts, I remember one unique thing here. Most of my neighbors are 1st or 2nd generation, Americans. Many have dual citizenship, some are Mexican citizens. Whether in English or Spanish, the sentiments where the same. Disbelief, shock, anger, it was all there. Even our visitors, those vacationing in the US from Mexico, felt it was an attack on us, not an attack on the US. Then on Saturday, a section of the Queen Isabella Causeway (bridge) to South Padres Island collapsed, killing several drivers who drove off the end of the bridge into the water below. It happen around 2:00 am so many of us awoke to that news. Same wondered if it was another terrorist attack. I remember thinking to myself in a Bin Laden voice, OK we attack and take down the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, the Capital, then the bridge on South Padres Island To me it was so obviously the Captain of the Exxon Valdez back as a barge Captain and making a navigational blunder but to many people down here, the possibility of terrorism was that real. BTW, it was a barge accident.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) They took all the trees and put 'em in a tree museum. And they charged the people a dollar-and-a-half just to see 'em. You don't know what you got till it's gone
