  1. If you had offered both it may have been a runnaway. I didn't even know either one was coming back. Another tough poll would be which one would I most like to retire.
  2. I never think it's fair to after the fact pick who should have been drafted. It happens all the time that teams pass on people they should have taken. This happens less to the great GMs and a lot to the crappy GMs. And that's all sports. KW has had a couple stinkers, but he also bought E-LO cheap and sold him high. AJ, Gooch, etc. all have been excellent low dollar acquisitions. That makes up for the name goof a few years back.
  3. There are a whole lot more. I believe in modern times this is known as the WSI Code of Conduct as written BY George.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Or if you have around 17,064 or more posts on a message board. We theadjacked a thread involving a Beatle member. I think we could be suspended. This has to be against the rules.

    Hurricane Katrina

Where there any alternatives to the floodgate system as proposed? There always seems to be another side that makes sense. I have a proposal, let's build a replica of the Great Wall of China all around the city to protect it from looting and floods. Sept 1 2065 If y'all had listened to me back in 2005 and built the Great Wall, none of this would have happened, but nooooooo, you said it was bad for the environment.

    Laura Bush

QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) Ahh, thanks for clearing it up. See, the deal is that I haven't visited the SL&P forum until this year (and I normally steer very clear of any politics talk). Anyway, I am happy to realize that not only are Sox fans intelligent, but are rather entertaining, too SFF Stop in any time. BTW, green = sarcasm, some people forget.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) I guess this would be one case where Hamarobi's code will actually take place. Is it not Hammurabi's code? And IIRC each one ends in he shall be put to death. Either the accused or the accuser. Loser pays. BTW, does my warning level go up again for overzealous grammar policing wink.gif?

    Laura Bush

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) I just figured since I'd never seen SFF here before I should clear that up. We joined the same day. Ahem, only I've been a little more active

    Laura Bush

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) You realize that post should be in green right? CC is the hardest core republican on the site. . . Gee, I thought he finally saw the light

    Laura Bush

QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) This is where, in the new spirit of Soxtalk, I just take a deep breath and quietly back out of this thread... BTW, 349 posts in two years? That's a good hour for southsider
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) ......that's when people label you 'eccentric'. And if you work at a normal job your a nut case, wacko
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) .365 BA? They are lucky they didn't kill her. OMG, I'm thinking .365 batting average? Where the hell was that??

    Laura Bush

It's called cheer leading, and has some value. It picks up the spirits of some people, it makes the nation feel, at least vicariously, that we are really helping, and spotlights what the real volunteers are doing. If not for Mrs. Bush, no one would have bothered to send cameras to that soup kitchen. Now even better would have been the Bush babes, hurricanes in hand, riding the storm out atop one of the hotels. Now that's a photo op.
  14. I guess if Mariotti isn't available . . . I'd like to hear Bevington.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) Aren't you already? What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas
  16. Holy Crap, there are more of them then I would have imagined. Plus, how cool is seeing 140 years of stats?

    Hurricane Katrina

QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) winodj, it was widely reported that New Orleans had "dodged the bullet" after Katrina passed through. Gulfport was devastated by the storm, as were other locals along the coast. Bush was specifically talking about NOLA and the levee situation. The way you present the Bush quotes on NOLA, followed by all those headlines is simply a case of misleading spin. Misleading Spin ~ A SL&P Tradition since 2003! Just wondering was the "Dodged the Bullet" also misleading spin? It seems that a whole lot of misinformation, falsehood, wrong assumptions, and other errors of judgment occurred and if we are looking for a scapegoat, Brown seems to fit the bill perfectly.
  18. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Is that Subservient Chicken in your Av, Kap?" If so, I'm simultaneously impressed and very very worried. Is that a subliminal message for me and my newfound life of crime? Perhaps you are thinking that is my future, to be a subervient chicken?

    AOL?

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Advice on dealing with AOL? 3 words. DONT DO IT!!!! They are the part of the internet that Al Gore did invent. Evil misquoter thought NUke's post needed some ghost writing.
  20. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Animals are jealous/protective by nature. Any chance Montecore smelled strange pussy on Roy? OMG I am so easily amused but
  21. I really dislike generalities, and stereotypes, but let me toss this out. The closer one comes to being a genius in science or the arts, the more likely the person has some serious flaws.
