  1. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) What matters more right now, respecting el duque or winning games? It's about respecting all the players. How Oz handles el duque is how the rest of the team would expect to be treated. Esprit de corps and all that jazz.
  2. Imagine that surprise to find out Shil is your roomie. I wonder how many could live at Crawford Ranch?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) What critics have to say about movies in general does not effect how i feel about a movie going into it. I go into all movies with an open mind. I have looked back on a whole bunch of movies on rottentomatoes.com and those critics are unbelievable when it comes to some very good movies. What effect would you say the atmosphere inside the theater has? Watching with 20 other people scattered around the theater vs. the excited buzz of a full house? BTW, great avatar.

    Hurricane Katrina

QUOTE(winodj @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) But he just seemed pissed to leave Texas. Anybody would be. As a Bush sometimes basher, I fell like coming to his defense. IMHO the information he was working with was wrong. I still cannot believe, if the information was accurate, he would have acted and scheduled his time the way he did. That just is not the person I believe him to be. I expected to see America, from Bush on down, in our finest hour of humanitarian aid. I really expected much, much, more. Switching gears, Rush has become a very wealthy man by being the GOPerheads bully ringleader. The blind loyalty they show him is scary. I know someone who will argue forever that Rush has never been wrong!?
  7. IIRC, he batted third in Japan.

I should have added ourselves as an option. Plus, while never the number 1 factor, I think word of mouth, critics, and the buzz, has a much bigger impact then we realize. Going into a movie with the right attitude has a huge effect on how much you like it.
  9. I was just looking at Greg Maddux's career and Wow. I don't pay that much attention to the NL, and basically only laughed that he left the Cubs and they got nothing in return. I guess I knew that 300 wins is obviously a big deal, but I didn't realize how many complete games he was pitching, etc.

  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) She was: There's good naked and bad naked though, and unfortunately the folks that are usually in the biggest hurry to shed their clothes are the bad kind of naked. The voice of experience? Being near the ocean with miles and miles of remote beaches, I have seen first hand of what Jim speaks and all I can say is damn straight. I was begging people to put in on.
  12. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) Happy Birthday to everyone's favorite Aussie!!!!!! Before we anoint him as everybody's favorite, was Olivia Newton-John English or Aussie?
  13. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) You beat me to it. I just saw at the bottom. The big(HUGE) 2-0. Enjoy yourself DBAHO! Don't get caught doing any illegal things. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Have a good one. He is in Australia, are there any illegal things? BTW, has a birthday thread ever been threadjacked?
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) I could buy an RC and a Moonpie for 10 cents. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) They were $.65 when I was a little kid, how old are you again? QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) I was a kid during the depression You do the math. Ah, the depression between 1920 and 1958, or between 1960 and 1983? Easy points for figuring out those dates.

    Remembering 9/11

I was leaving for work later than usual, I needed to stop by the airport and pick up co-workers that were flying down from Milwaukee. I was watching the Today show and trying to comprehend the first plane. At first I thought it was a single engine, solo kind of thing. As it was sinking in that a large jet accidentaly flew into the WTC, I was blaming it on malfunctioning autopilot type of thing, the second jet hit. The next couple hours was a bit of a blur. Wondering what was going to happen next.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Ordonez got exactly the money he would have gotten had he never been hurt from Detroit. He had plenty of options to try to go to different teams and see if they contend...us, the Cubs, etc. He took the biggest contract. He also took the only contract that was offered post surgery. And it is nice to know that so many people here would never leave the company they are working for to make more money elsewhere. Wanting to gte paid as well as other people for doing the same job would never enter anyone's minds here. LMAO
  17. Where is the none of the above, his stuff is crap option? You know, just asking.
  18. Happy Birthday! Are you too old now for Fairy Bread?
  19. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) I could buy an RC and a Moonpie for 10 cents. They were $.65 when I was a little kid, how old are you again?

  21. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) We're a coke school, so i think i'm becoming brainwashed and thinking coke is better now. Also, didn't RC go out of business? RC is alive and well in the South where ordering a Royal Crown and Crown Royal is somewhat common
  22. Does this mean we might have a World Series with teams from actually around the World?
