The last ten (happy thought)
How long have we been saying "we just have to play .500 ball"? 7-4 should be the mark. Start October with some momentum.

Songs that describe the current state of the Sox
Jimmy Buffett - Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes Lyrics I took off for a weekend last month Just to try and recall the whole year All of the faces and all of the places Wonderin' where they all disappeared I didn't ponder the question too long I was hungry and went out for a bite Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum And we wound up drinkin all night Chorus: It's these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes Nothing remains quite the same With all of our running and all of our cunning If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane Reading departure signs in some big airport Reminds me of the places I've been Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure Makes me want to go back again If it suddenly ended tomorrow I could somehow adjust to the fall Good times and riches and son of a b****es I've seen more than I can recall Chorus: These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes Nothing remains quite the same Through all of the islands and all of the highlands If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane I think about Paris when I'm high on red wine I wish I could jump on a plane So many nights I just dream of the ocean God I wish I was sailin' again Oh, yesterday's over my shoulder So I can't look back for too long There's just too much to see waiting in front of me And I know that I just can't go wrong Chorus: With these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes Nothing remains quite the same With all of my running and all of my cunning If I couldn't laugh I just would go insane If we couldn't laugh we just would go insane If we weren't all crazy we would go insane

Chicago, Saturday in the Park . . . Slow motion riders fly the colours of the day A bronze man still can tell stories his own way Listen children all is not lost All is not lost Funny days in the park Every day's the Fourth of July Funny days in the park Every day's the Fourth of July People reaching, people touching A real celebration Waiting for us all If we want it, really want it Can you dig it (yes, I can) And I've been waiting such a long time For the day

Goodbye message
All the companies I worked for would allow a "send all". Mostly becaue the mistakes were so damn funny. I was once placed under a curse by a guy I had to fire. I was worried for like a nano-s***. He sent that to everyone.

Jim I remember a long ago comment by my HS Bio Teacher that every organism pollutes their environment to the point that it is inhabitable. Is that accurate?

What a crock!!
I would not have believed it was real.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) I have an endoscopy scheduled for Tuesday, which I'm not looking forward to, and I'm in the process of putting together a project to heat my house via solar energy. f*** Nicor and their $400 gas bills. I assume an active system? Sounds cool. How far along are you? Are you just trying to heat or hot water and energy part of the plans?

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) Post my life events here? I don't have any. Ok, seriously. Since we got the big weekend out of the way last week, I'll share now. My wife is expecting our first, due sometime around Mid-May. We should know more about the due date and all of that next week. So, last night we were in the grocery store and we looked at the price of diapers and food and all that good stuff. Damn, poor house here we come! Congratulations! BTW, note to new parents, when the diaper says good to 20 pounds, that's the baby's weight not the load.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) I saw a pic in today's paper of school busses full of people being taken out of Galveston by the gov. Yeah, what stupid idea that would have been for N.O. Texans are sooooooo much smarter.- Wedding, Baby, and Home Updates
So what's happening? How is everyone? Southsider and QP need to update on the wedding, the baby, and the new house.- The last ten (happy thought)
Eat what you kill. 7-4 is about the season win rate and the kind of roll that would help in the playoffs.- Soxtalk Crashers
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) So you're the asshole. What can I say, I'm just a dumb newb.- Hurricane Rita.
Why doesn't Bush just ask her to leave us alone? That's what Reagan would have done.- Catch-All Anything Thread

QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 05:48 AM) 45 degrees should be fine. Suggestion. Nail the angle brace to the plywood, then let the other end rest on the ground. Drive your stake at an angle that puts pressure on the brace and snugs the plywood up to your building, then tack the brace in place with a nail or two so the wind (and flopping plywood) doesn't work the brace up the slightly angled stake. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned flapping plywood, there is probably some value in cutting the plywood to fit the window frame instead of on the brick. Being "inset" would reduce the flapping. I was trying to avoid having five different size boards to deal with.- Hurricane Rita.

In 1900 Galveston was hit by a huge hurricane and over 6,000 people died. Amazing how far we have come.http://www.1900storm.com/- Hurricane Rita.
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) MSNBC was saying it's something like the 5th largest storm ever recorded. I'm not sure if that was the exact statistic, maybe the 5th largest storm ever to hit the US. 5th strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. - Hurricane Rita.
