    Christmas Gifts

I'm old and feeble. The poll originally had Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning plus both. Then a started constructing a more all encompassing poll. I like to be certain I have bracketed the choices to allow everyone a voice.
  2. Linked here This time of year and Holy Week, are just crazy down here. Traffic is a nightmare, you cannot move at the mall, the private plans heading up from Mexico for US shopping is just unreal.

    Dear Santa,

Sex I was hoping she could do her comedy routine

    Christmas Gifts

I accidentally voted for the Tigers having the best pitching staff in the Central. Hell, they might not have the best pitching staff in Michigan

When did you move to Florida? Was the ballot too confusing?

    Christmas Gifts

Merry Christmas to everyone here who made my year brighter and happier. I hope you all receive a special gift this holiday season and know the joy in watching someone open a gift you carefully selected for them.
  8. If I was in Boston, NY, or LA, I would be saying why not both?
  9. Once again Kenny and Co. need to try and strike a balance. Unlike the Yankees and Red Sox that can just pile on in one area that needs help, Kenny is forced to balance pitching, power, defense, speed "ozzie ball", and payroll. He cannot just go and add pitching without taking from another pile. He cannot just keep taking from payroll to add speed. So we have taken from our power pile and added to our pitching pile. We have taken from our RBI pile and added to our speed pile. Overall I do not think the team has gotten better, but this mix may win more games. For example, and not to start a stat war, maybe we hit 15% fewer homeruns, but they generate 5% more runs because guys are on base when the ball leaves the park. Ahhh hope springs eternal.
  10. General Comment: I would like to add that people who report objectionable posts, are not going to post why they thought a suspension is necessary. We do not ask them to, nor do I think it is a good idea. So these threads always seem one sided with the poster's buddies, those with higher tolerances, and those who have not read all the posts jump to his/her defense. Please be assured that before any actions are taken that people have complained. If it is a singular post, and the mods or admins agree, it is deleted. If it is a pattern, the poster is warned in various manners. Interesting to me, the people who complain are typically not the ones being attacked.
  11. Happens here all the time and I'll bet FlaSoxxJim has seen it in December by him also
  12. Mr. Zero :fyou My 8th grade daughter is in four dance classes, President of National Junior Honor Society, helps out in the pre-school gym at her dance studio, takes extra stringed bass lessons, Girl Scouts, choir, and a few other activities. Most of the time she is perpetually in motion between events. Before you talk about unfit parents, understand why sometimes a kid has like 20 minutes in between stuff to eat dinner. You can take your Ozzie and Harriet s*** and stuff it.
  13. Oh thank God they are empty calories, I mean, how much weight could something add if it is empty? I think we have to separate "fast food" from unhealthy food. One of my local grocery chains has sushi to go. I can be in and out in about 5 minutes at lunch. Another local place has Chinese and Mandarin drive through. They have a steamed veggie and white rice plate that is fast and healthy.
  14. Sorry, I didn't realize registration was required. And Mrs. Texsox would want to join in and bring the youngins I am actually registered for the Post, with my own name, not from bugmenot.com

  16. If you were throwing a party, paying for the chips, dips, and beer and one guy was being a jerk, insulting some of your friends, and pissing on your floor, what would you do? Most hosts would ask him to leave. Maybe some people at the party think he's funny and a great guy to have around. They can leave with him and throw their own party. Folks, it's a simple deal. Pull out your credit card like Jas did, buy some software and a hosting deal, and you can make up whatever rules you like. As a cuople people have said, it's just an internet board. I have disagreed with some of the suspensions and bannings, I felt some were deserved that were not handed out. But bottom line, I defend the guys who are spending their money to keep this site going to make whatever the hell rules they want. This isn't free to run, it's free to you. Telling the host he's wrong isn't the way a guest should behave.
  17. This thread has made me feel way older than my 40's
  18. Do you see the salaries for the Tiger's starters? Look at all that flexibility!
  19. It's the balance. We dug a couple holes to fill in others, The question is, if we leave Spring training with this team, and I doubt we will, is the improvement in starting piotching equal to the loss of offense with Maggs, Lee, Valentin, and Olivo.
  20. From classicbands.com Yesterday would probably top the chart if you include all the airplay from covers of that song.
  21. Wait, isn't this like your 15th vacation this year? How many weeks do you have to work a year
  22. Which is why if someone tok it a couple weeks confined to quarters isn't going to change their minds.
  23. I am so glad that Gore invented the information superhighway This had got to be better than the ughh Dr. Laura photos.
