IMHO SUV drivers can be broken down into two groups. Ones that have business or hobbies that necessitate 4-wheel drive, the room, etc. And those who want the imagine or the perceived safety of a bigger SUV. I bought mine to tow my boat and makes Boy Scout trips insanely easier. My neighbor who bought the Hummer as a rolling advertisement for his practice is probably closer to the above generalization.

    "Homeless" scam!

LOL. I am certain it was unintentional, but funny never the less. We have the underpass guys down here. They are dropped off every morning in their wheelchairs and they work the traffic all day then when their shift is over, the van picks them up. They muscle out anyone who tries and move in on their territory. It's like a frickin' franchise. I never give them anything. Well once I gave one of the guys a cap from the "other country club" in town, and told him I would give him $1 every time I saw him wearing it. After two days he told me someone bought it from him for $10 and he asked me if I could get him another one

Then you probably know my father in law. He has been just about every position both local and statewide over the past 30 years. Great group. I hate tootsie rolls

Is Chevy still doing the 100,000 mile club? When I rolled over 100k they gave me a cap and displayed my Blazer's picture in the showroom. Great scam to gather names of people who would be trading in soon
  7. Especially with a pitcher hitting behind him. He isn't going to see anything good to hit. I am assuming he's batting 8th in that lineup.

My Chevy Blazer had over 150,000 miles when I sold it to a guy for surf fishing on the island. I also put over 100,000 miles on a Suburban without a repair beyond scheduled maintenance.
  9. Willie or Cora? Do teams fighting for a World Series birth ever have to think about something like this? :headshake God we suck. I hate baseball with 4 or 5 elite teams and the rest just road kill, carnival side show freaks, the Washington Generals to the Globe Trotters. I know it's what we are dealt but we're worrying about which guys we'd pick up from baseballs scrap heap of old and discarded parts. :puke
  10. 4-1 before being injured. I am willing to bet if he didn't have Boras, he'd of had a contract with the White Sox. My guess, with Boras as his agent, he is with the Yankees at 2.1 or 2.2.

  12. Hogs-n-dogs link More at link. What is interesting is trying to write a law that stops this sort of thing and makes killing them for food legal. Is it cruel to herd cows into a chute and bop them between the eyes and killing them?

  15. This must be so stressful for you. You probably gained a few pounds, and it is so hard trying to sleep in the same bed with a pregnant person. And not knowing when the baby will come. I hope your wife is being supportive during this time. Any chance for a Christmas baby? [tex doing math] Nothing like spring training to get y'all in the mood
  16. With the explosive growth, comes some new screen names. Tell us who you are, favorite Sox moment, favorite players, that sort of stuff. Toss out a few favorite TV shows, music you listen to, if you are in school, where? what year?

  19. All together now . . . The weather up north is frightful But here, it's so delightful; As long as I'm way down here Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow The weather up north is frightful But here, it's so delightful; Since it won't affect where I go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow . . . Oh, into the ditch they're glidin', and there's lots of cars collidin', If the casualty rates stay low, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow Well the snowplow came by today Piled six feet in front of my door, So I'll shovel my my life away And the weatherman says 'Here's some more!' And it's easy to think snow's funny When you're down where it's hot and sunnny So since I'm not there no mo'.... Let it snow..... Let it snow..... LET IT SNOW! That's same damn fine musical collaboration
  20. Dead Men Walking Chicago could be a perennial powerhouse, in the elite with the Red Sox. All that needs to happen is the Cubs or Sox move. The surviving team would own the market and could easily afford a $100-$130 mil payroll. Instead we have two mid-market teams.

    Christmas in Chicago

My favorite drive is down the Edens to Sedgwich (spelling? neighborhood with incredible Christmas displays) south of Skokie, then into Evanston and driving up the North Shore to Lake Forest. We'd stop along the way for a hot beverage. The white Italian lights in Lake Forest are so wonderful in the square.
