  1. I just took the opportunity to educate on a cause I'm familar with. The liveable wage concept could solve a lot of social problems.
  2. replace hate or racism for anti-semitism and I agree 100%. Actually I agree 100% as written, but prefer to extend it to all people.
  3. Wow that's really cool and a testimony to the greatness of NASCAR and racing. I enjoy watching in person, especially with a scanner to listen to the drivers and crews. On tv, yuch I guess I'm not a big enough fan.
  4. I was just thinking how nice it was that it wasn't getting out of control. WHich post did you think was out of control?
  5. No I will not sign the petition. Jason can do whatever he likes with the site. If this is some test tube lab for a science fair project then so be it. If he enjoys hooking young people on this site and then suddenly yank it from them like some expensive dom in high heels and leather, so be it. If he wants to pop a needle in some youthful flesh, setting them on a hallucination of all things good and wonderful then crush their dreams like a 9 year old that learns there is no Santa, the let it be done. If he wants to metaphorically gently marinade a lucious t-bone and fire it up over the hardwood fire of his grill while his vegitarian friends look on drooling, so be it. If he wants to much on an onion bagel while his Atkins reducing buddies go through carb wthdrawl, then that's his right. He is Jason, he's God-like in his powers here. Let him roar
  6. I would never ask you to sympathize with an individual who wishes harm to you or any other soul. However, then offer the same respect to your Arab counterpart and not want him dead for being an Arab or Muslim. Do not judge all Palistinians, Arabs, Muslims, and Jews the same. Recognize that there are innocent humans on both sides who are victims of people and policies out of their control. Denounce all bloodshed, not just Israeli. Start praying or cheering for a compromise that will bring a lasting peace; not the annihilation that extremists on both sides are praying for and will only happen with nuclear weapons that will leave the ground unfit for anyone to live.
  7. You are correct. Steff, The only behind the scenes discussions would be between the admins, Mods are basically Wal*mart greeters. Hello, can I get you a cart?
  8. Even with a job, people are living under the poverty level. Minimum wage will not lift you over the poverty thresh hold, especially if you have children. There is a movement to pressure companies into paying not the minimum wage but the liveable wage. All city jobs and school district positions here pay a min of $7.35 +- a few nickles which is the poverty threshold for this area. The bulk of our job growth has been in lower paying service sector jobs and small business who do not offer health insurance benefits to their employees. So sadly just getting an entry level job does not raise a person above poverty nor assure them fair access to health care providers.
  9. And it's a lot like the NBA. SHow up for the pregame and tip off, go have a few drinks and watch the final 2 minutes
  10. If editing other people's words in quotes is a high crime then a lot of people should be ousted. Starting with me. I've been the perp and the victim of the evil misquoter, always a perp for laughs. All this to win fictional debate points with people you will never meet :headshake
  11. Yes, I am proud to say that I smpathize with all my brothers and sisters in the human race who do not have the freedom of the pursuit of happiness, who cannot live in peace, who only know constant fear in their daily lives. I think less of any human that cannot sympathize with other humans in that condition. You think less of some humans based on where they were born or their ethnic makeup. I do not. I see humans just like myself. So please, call me a sympathizer I am proud to wear that label and sad that you do not.
  12. The excitment is in the stategy of when to pass, the door to door, bumper to bumper action at 100+ mph, the noise, the crowds, the skill of the drivers, the chain smoking women in halter tops, the bubbas and bubbettes, and the possibility of seeing a major wreck in turn 4. And of course the same evil vs. good that WWF has employed. You have to watch "your guy" win or get screwed by same assclown.
  13. Be careful what you say Nuke, You know what a stiffy 4E gets when you talk about killing Arabs
  14. Saturday Night Bristol Stomp??! I thought you were going to a square dance . . .
  15. really, burts of three. Is there also the "being overrun hold the trigger and go through the entire clip" mode?
  16. I agree with the spirit of your post. However, and I really hate to say this, I do not blame the attorneys or their clients who bring suit under the existing laws. Until the laws are changed, all Americans should be able to hold each other accountable to the fullest extent. If that means availing themselves of the legal system, then so be it. One of the reasons we have our freedoms is attorneys. We have the greatest legal system in the world, which gets it right most of the time because we fully support both sides and truely try and find the truth. To do that defense attorneys must exhaust every avenue for their clients and plaintif attorneys should do the same. America -Love it or Leave it!
  17. :finger Sounds like Queen's Guide to a Good Honeymoon except she forgot the and a good :sleep
  18. Study for the blood test? You're interested also??
  19. Did you study for the blood test? Congrats, may the be forever.
  20. It is nice that we care enough that when this happens to a person most of us have only met through these boards we care enough to have a 100 post thread. Gee, Jas would you please take away my mod title, I want to see if I will have a 15 post thread I figure I'd start the thread for 1 and I kknow at least 13 people who will post a it's about time, so I'm looking for the lone defender BTW, when do the Sox start playing again??
  21. hell all my posts are in green
  22. I keep laughing that anyone thinks there is "power". It's joke. With the exception of the guys who write the check or can program this Edsel, it's a pat on the head and a lolly pop. There is no power. Power to do what? Edit a post? Close a thread? Pin a thread? What is the ultimate power here? The power to ban someone. Ohh wield it carefully, the course of human history depends on it's judicous use. Power to destroy careers? Change lives? Feed the world? IMHO as soon as anyone thinks they have power as an admin, take it away ASAP, they are suffering from delussions. Why is it creating a stir? I have no clue. I find it all rather silly that adults would care if someone calls them an admin. The fun is in reading the posts, responding, sharing ideas, making friends. If someone needs an ego boost of being called by some honorary title or worse, feeling good that they can wield some imaginary "power", it is sad.
  23. I guess they will not playing the Austrian Anthem Maybe he should take up something safer like NASCAR Speedy recovery to you
  24. It's part of the military prison guard training
  25. Kap, with all due respect, it's all personality stuff. With the exceptions of the guys who write the check or have programming skills to keep the board running, (BIG Thank you) the rest of the mods and admins basically have received the on-line equivelent of a pat on the head and a good boy. If Mods had any real responsibilities, or "power" there would be written guidelines, a list of responsibilities, possibly some training. Instead mods receive "thank you, you are a mod take a look at your new control panel and let me know if you have any questions". Again IMHO it's just a pat on the head and a lolly pop. BTW, Jas, thanks for the lolly pop, you can have it back anytime and without a 70 post thread. The mods and admins without technical suppport had to be selected based on their posts or real world relationships. i.e. personality stuff. If you get in on that, the removal is also that. CW pissed some people off, pile up the bodies on one side vs. the bodies on the other and a decision was made to take back the lolly pop. For some, there is joy in Mudville. Why people care so much still surprises me. Basically the "real" admins told CW they do not like him anymore. Well gee, I hope everyone realizes that there are people here who do not like you. If that bothers you, stay home, don't log on, because on a big planet, there are bound to be people who will not like you. I would hope that CW doesn't let the realization that a couple people here do not like him keep him from posting. I know there are more than a few people here that do not like me, it's pretty easy to tell, they have told me. I can respect that, I don't much care for them either. I am not privy to any insider information, I did not receive CW's ouster email last week (maybe he doesn't like me ) I just know the stakes are so very very small and on the human scale of tragedies, this doesn't even register. I enjoyed CW's short posts, I prefer someone just giving me the :fyou than spending 1000 words to do the same so many times stopped reading the longer ones. But to dismiss personality in all this just doesn't pass the common sense test. If Jas is going to drop an admin for admin mistakes he should drop himself for crashing the boards every three months for another of his "upgrades" BTW and for what it is worth, I would have let him keep his admin title and took away any functions that y'all felt he abused. However, if the mindset is these titles have power then that probably never crossed anyone's mind. His public posts were no worse than dozens of other posters here.
