  1. Another difference in our opinions, I do not find Kerry likable. I place Bush far further up that scale than Kerry. There is just something about him that I cannot warm up to. That inner voice is probably 90% of the reason I'm still undecided and closer to pulling the level for Bush and knwoing what I'll get, than Kerry and onl guessing.
  2. Are any of us working for corporations we feel are unjust, or doing something not in the best interest of its employees, the neighborhood, or the citizens of the US? Most will say no. Then is it no surprise as politicians you will favor policies that benefit those market sectors? I would have been more surprised had President Bush not favored oil interests or offered contracts to Haliburton. Hell is W thought Haliburton was a bad company, why pick its CEO as a VP mate?
  3. That and the fact we like fresh strawberries in January. I don't know how to roll this back but we can no longer support our food requirements from home grown products. We could, except the US population doesn't want to hear about "seasons" or increased prices. I would love to see more production brought back to the US. I think it is cool when some fruits all of a sudden start appearing on grocers shelves because they are in season.

With debates in several threads about how it is better to not work and live off the public welfare, I wonder at what income level y'all believe not working is a better life than working.
  5. Kerry plan in summary: Take back the Bush tax cut for people making over $200,000. Close any tax breaks for companies sending jobs overseas. Take that money and cut taxes for the people that Choas talks about, the hard working Americans making $25,000 to $200,000.
  6. And the dissapointing reply from the challenger
  7. And Kerry agrees with that.
  8. And for those who wish to support the man from the great state of Texas and former minor league baseball executive
  9. BTW, I sent Kerry and Bush emails asking them to define "middle class" we'll see their responses. Both candidates seem to require signing up for their campaigns to ask a question. Interesting. In the mean time I did receive this from the Kerry campaign Dear James, Thank you very much for signing up at JohnKerry.com. Your support is instrumental to the success of our campaign -- and you've taken the first step by signing up today. Our organizers have fanned out across the country, linking up with activists and volunteers like you who have been working in the field for months. Person-to-person communication is critical to spreading the Kerry-Edwards positive vision for a new America: stronger at home, respected in the world. With your assistance, we will create a field program whose size and reach are unmatched in the history of presidential elections. We need your help in this tremendous effort. Please FORWARD THIS EMAIL to five friends and ask them to get involved in our field program by clicking here: http://volunteer.johnkerry.com/profile/new Face-to-face contact is the best way to get voters to the polls for the Kerry-Edwards ticket. We need a huge number of grassroots volunteers -- you are our #1 recruiter. Forwarding this email to just five of your friends will help grow our field program into an unstoppable force. Tell your friends to get involved here: http://volunteer.johnkerry.com/profile/new Again, thank you for your support. Sincerely, Kerry-Edwards 2004
  10. Too hard to get elected if you tell the citizens they cannot have any candy. Better is telling them they can have the candy, and if they eat it, they will increase the revenues to pay for it. All we have to do is run deficits and the money will flow in.
  11. Projected income is a politicians best friend. Cannot afford an expenditure? Add to your projected income.
  12. It didn't happen very often, and IIRC it was the high volume accounts that had the problems. If you all of a sudden had a couple hundred people, all paying you the exact same amount, it threw up red flags. Some pyramid schemes, fake raffles, etc. used Paypal because of the lax banking laws.
  13. Bush believes as long as we run huge deficits to help his rich, white friends, the middle class will be better off. Without the rich paying taxes, who does the burden fall to? The middle class. If we can make a general statement to make a good point.
  14. Where politians can bend the stats is defining "taxes". Are we talking just income taxes on a federal level? Are we talking all income taxes? Do we include estate taxes, sales taxes, fuel taxes, etc.? When we start to include things like sales taxes then the upper classes and middle classes start to pull away. Technically a poor person, or "tree hugger" who uses public transportation has not paid sales tax on a $75,000 Hummer or gasoline tax on the 12 mpg he gets heading through the jungle of Madison. I believe a graduated income tax plan is in everyones best interest. I believe a balanced budget is the way to go, I do not like deficits. I believe we do not want to live in the America that the poorest can afford to build. I believe everyone who lives here should contribute to this great country. I believe given the choice of increased crime brought on by poverty, or public aid, we are better off with public aid. I believe we need to fix the way we fund our schools so that the poor and working middle class have better schools to send their kids. I believe we need bigger pools of people for health benefits. Small business's are the backbone of the US economy and need help in offering this basic benefit to their employees. I believe we need to encourage companies to keep jobs in North America and higher paying jobs in the US.
  15. Back in 1999 when Paypal was still new, the crooks were working the system faster than Paypal could plug the holes. Some people felt their Paypal money had the same protections as a bank account (FDIC) or a credit card. PayPal felt otherwise. Basically PayPal operated almost like a "gift certificate". You have some money here that we are holding, but we are NOT a bank, we are NOT a credit card. During that time, some people had their accounts frozen, with hundreds or in some cases, thousands of dollars on "deposit". PayPal was trying to determine if those monies were the results of fraud, or legitimate transactions. Those people are the ones receiving some compensation for not having access to their money.
  16. Read his page. Both parties want the same economic band and the bulk of their policy proposals target the $25k to $125k range. Despite some misconceptions from talk show hosts, the bulk of the taxes are paid by the middle class. Bush's tax cut helped those making over $175,000 the most. If anyone is forgetting the middle class, I believe it is Bush and his spend and cut tax policies.
  17. On one hand you state you do not know where the range is, then assume it is $50,000 - $75,000. If you would like to deal in fact, John Kerry defines $200,000 as the dividing line. Here's a link to his middle class fact page. Official Web Site
  18. LMAO. Kindof
  19. I've never had a problem with my PayPal account.
