Veteran presence, handles the pitchers well. It will be interesting how everything gets divided up. Sandy will keep Mark and probably pick up Freddy. Jaime takes E-Lo and Garland, and the #5 is up in the air depending if we keep 3 catchers on the 25 man. If Freddy pitches Thursday that would give Sandy an every other day rotation.

This is entirly too satisfying for southsider, I may have to lock this love-fest before it's too late.

The more I think about our catcher situation, the more I like Alomar getting some more games. Maybe because I was a catcher and I'm old, that I like old catchers with a season or two left. I am a MO fan, but I honestly like the trade off of some offense for a veteran's presence working with the pitching staff down the stretch. One last hurrah for Sandy.
