This December I will be running another "Best of Soxtalk" awards thread. You can see last years for the types of awards and who, at that time, was nominated.

Does he fly back or drive? I'm thinking they hand him a Friday morning flight back to wherever they are playing on Saturday. He's going to be rocked and ejected from the game after plunking someone. I'm expecting a bench clearing brawl tonight. In fact, we probably should just forfeit and not risk injury to anyone in a game that is clearly meant to be a loss. Rauch will only make it out of the third because Ozzie has no options. I think Munoz is going to look good by comparison. Rauch will give up double digit runs, possibly by inning two. I would also guess back to back to back homeruns by their 7-8-9 hitters. Left to pitch 9 innings, Rauch would give up 20 runs. There are only two solid ML pitchers in the organization. Two servicable, and the rest are AAA on their best days.

When they are playing bad, it's real easy to turn off the computer and not think about them. There are a lot of Cub fans all around the country, but it is easy to avoid them out of town. It sucks when they ae doing well and I know I'd be at a couple games a week, like old times. Calling my old Cub fans and gloating just isn't the same. I'd say you feel the pain a whole lot harder being in town.

College coach rivalry mentality. Do what ever you want but beat Ohio State, Oklahoma, Boston College, etc. I like that

That is one of the challenges of pulling a team together. It is tough to make friends if you don't hablar espanol or speak english in many clubhouses.

So do some ladies, padded even, what's your size . . .

A more interesting question is what a Cub fan does in that situation at the Cell when a Sox players hits a home run?

I agree with your sentiment and how I think you meant it. I very nice man once offered the following insight to me, and I've never forgotten it. And I try and offer the same whenever some mis-informed ass hole like your self brings it up. I think we need to treat people how they want to be treated. Just because someone wants to be treated like crap, doesn't mean they have the right to treaty others like crap.

And we have a pretty good track record in this country of tossing out the bad. Slavery, woman's rights, genocide, etc. while keeping the good. Perhaps the easy stuff is done, now we are into the tough stuff. Not bad progress for 200 years.
