I found that surprising. Do any of these count? Searching the UN site I found countless references to condemning Palestinians acts. And a few against Israel as well. My thinking would be more along the lines of do we need another UN condemnation? They do not seem to be working.

Israel, A couple questions, Do you see peace in the Middle East without a clear military victory for Israel? If military might is the only path to peace, how many people will Israel have to kill and of what nationalities? If you see a peace without a clear cut military victory what concessions would Israel have to make? Hasn't the land that Israel currently consideres its boundaries been shared for thousands of years? One problem I see with the land argument would be returning the US to the Native Americans aka Indians. Wouldn't it be a similar situation? I am not clear on this part of Israel history. When Israel was created and the two states partitioned, were people displaced or could they remain and be a part of the new state? Since Jews are only 20% of the entire Israel population isn't it misleading to continue the equation Israel = Jews?
  5. Going in 2nd, CF, SP, Closer are all ?. I do not have a problem leaving our guys out. Jimenez poised for a career year? Repeat that eveery Spring and you'll be right at least once. What the hell is a "career year"? For E-lo, he had a "career year" at the AS Break.

Thank you for recognizing that. I find being called a racist something worth defending. To me it is a very serious allegation. I was not weeping, but defending the Texsox name. You are not a skycap by any stretch of the imagination. But hey, keep trying! Seriously, I would be very interested to watch you and Sideshow try and come to a peace agreement. How would you two decide the path of history? How would you two create a world for your grandchildren's grandchildren? Could you two even agree on a place to hold the meetings and say an agenda of 5 items? Instead of trying to outshout each other, could you listen enough to work out a peace agreement? Without one, both sides will live in fear, and that is insane. So, do y'all want to keep fighting, and have your grandkids, grandkids fighting?

Tomorrow morning about 200 head will be taking a trip away from the ranch and sent to what the cows and steers will think is heaven. They are heading to the feed yard for 5 months of munching on grain before they will show up on a table near you. PETA
  11. And looking at auto manufacturers as an industry, no one manufacturers a car anymore. They are assembly plants. A transmission from this company, a complete dash assembly from this over company, some plastic parts from here, some seats from there. Alps down by me produces the wireless openers for 6 different auto brands.
  12. One of the most important things an education should teach is the ability to think and make decisions. It should create situations that are all about the gray area. The lines between art, erotic art, and pornography is a moving line based on the person viewing it. And if you begin to ban something because someone may find it erotic, you would have to take down a shoe display because some people have shoe fetishes. I think the display and the debate it has produced is great for college students. It should be taken down soon and replaced with something that will also produce such debate. IMHO the most appropriate public setting for an exhibit like this is a college campus.

Well this summer I had the pleasure of helping my buddy castrate his bulls. I helped cut the bulls from the cows. Drive them down the chute to the gate, lock 'em in, rope the back leg, pull it back, and watch the cutter cut off the sack, reach up and pull down the balls and toss them aside. There is only the smallest amount of blood. Open the gate and off they run. After that, a disection would be a piece of cake.
  14. cw, manufacturing jobs will be decling for the rest of our lives. We will never see a net increase in manufacturing jobs again. Intellectual jobs and service will continue to grow. Technology is replacing workers. Low skilled positions are migrating. The challenge for America is to improve our education systems to train workers for higher skilled jobs. I cannot see manufacturing jobs increasing. But look at industries that have been created. The Internet has created jobs. People will not pay more to buy American. We have lost agriculture jobs for the same reasons. Technology allows production of foods in far off places and getting them to market. We need to evaluate the economy in term of total jobs and the total wages they pay.

Israel, And there is the root of the problem. I imagine after all the suicide bombers and violence against Israel that a majority in Israel endorse violence against Palastinians. I have never believed these Arab newspapers and I am surprised that you do. Nest thing Apu will be believing Israeli newspapers. Maybe this is a start of a compromise. You have mentioned that Arafat needs to be "taken out". I am certain you are not in the minority with that view. With both sides preaching violence, all you get is violence. And we get to the same point I've made all along. Too many people on both sides believe the only way they will live in peace is if the other side is destroyed. Sadly, both sides may be right and the othe world isn't big enough for Israelies and Palastinians. If that truly is the case, imagine the bloodshed that will happen. If we have learned any lessons from the Holocaust, the world will no longer sit by and watch the systematic destruction of an entire race of people. You and Apu are perfect representatives for both sides. Could you imagine you two trying to negotiate a peace agreement? I cannot. But that is the challenge facing the region. Many, many innocent lives depend on rational humans making decisions in the best interest of everyone. No, I am not a rocket scientist. The hard sciences, like rocker propulsion, do not interest me as much as Psychology and English Literature.
  16. I love watching diverse groups come together. The closing ceremony at the Olympics have always choked me up. While I respect the reasons for our boycott, I always have felt Carter was wrong in his stance on sending the team that year.
  17. What makes this relevant is the lessons we should learn. Our "friends" do not always stay our friends. I agree with CW, the "you are an enemy of our enemy so we must be friends" guide fails at several levels.

  19. Fez Festival The festival is on a world tour. Of course things like this never make it to my tiny corner of the world, far away from a major city. I think a grass roots movement, with many events bringing together humankind for arts, music, sports, and love will bring peace faster that all the debate and hatefull speech combined. Maybe it's my 60s upbringing, but I believe all humans are capable of love and understanding and want to live in peace.

So every Palestinian is an enemy of Israel? If you believe some are not, does that make you an anti-semite? If so, do you believe that every Palestinian needs to be killed before Israel can have peace? Can you seperate a Palestinian "Cause" from everyday Palestinians? Is there an American Cause that every American agrees on? If someone believes some Palestinians are good and sympathize with their plight, according to you, they are a racist against Israel. If they agree with you, and claim since the Palestinian cause is the destruction of Israel and therefore they all are bad, doesn't that make them racist against Palestinians? Is there a way to not be a racist in your world? Orare you claiming it is ok to be a racist against Palestinians? And just for fun Israel, find me one time I agreed with Apu. You seem to link us together. You accuse me of not being able to read. Or would you like to ignore that fact.

Israel, you are in essence saying some Palastinians are bad, so all Palestinians are bad. Hitler was evil personafied. Are you suggesting that all Germans are evil also? Since Hitler targeted Jews, can Israel live in peace with Germans? And why the hell would you even bring Hitler into this? Can there be peace with Palestinians? Based on your view, any leader from Israel who negotiates with the Palestinians in good faith must be an anti-semite. To negotiate in good faith you must believe the negotiations could reach a binding agreement that will be held by both sides. That would also mean the Israel leader would believe the Palistinians was capable of doing the right thing. Take a look at the this link Fez Festival of World Sacred Music I believe these types of events, that bring people together, and far more productive and will bring peace to the Middle East, faster that extreemist like yourself who preach hate for the other side. Show me where * I * ever disagreed with your summary of the Peace Accords? If your entire reason for calling me a racist is I believe there can be peace with Palastinians and not all Palastinians are evil, that is sad. You have accused me of a vile crime against an entire religion. And your entire reasons are I believe all humans are good and capable of good things. Is that an opinion that would be shared by all Jews or just yourself? "You people are all unbelievable" Are you linking everyone together? Can't you read who writes each post? Please do not link me with anyother writer. My ideas a seperate from everyone else here. You and APU are crazy. You two cannot give an inch and have jumped to extreems to prove your points. You two are amazing to watch. It is so nice that you two are so similar. I really cannot tell the difference sometimes, except APU uses more pictures. This is why under the present regimes, there will be no peace. You two are a real good representation of both sides. How could you two agree to live in peace? And just so I am clear, the reason I am a racist in your view is I believe that not all Palastinians are evil. You have not posted one quote from me that I've said any racist comments towards Israel or it's people. And you wonder why I think you are an idiot :headshake
  22. Texsox replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
Israel, Did you happen to find my racist remarks? Of course not, because I never made any. A decent human being would retract your vile accusation. But then again, I wouldn't expect someone who advocates murder, to do the decent thing. I feel that calling me a racist was about the greatest insult you could have leveled against me. All I'm asking is for you to cite the specific posts here that led you to say such a thing. Perhaps in your circles it is ok to make false statements against someone. Perhaps based on your racist views of Palestinians, you do not feel calling someone a racist is such that big a deal. Well I do. I agree the current leadership in the Middle East has made a lasting peace impossible. Hopefully with a reshuffling of the deck, there may be a bater chance. But with both sides being taught how bad the other side is, it may be becoming harder and harder for that to happen. Do you think all Palastinians are against peace with Israel, or just thier leaders? You earleir said that not all Palastinians are bad. ARe you claiming that ALL? Majority? of Palastinians want to destroy Israel? Are you claiming if someone is sypathetic to Palestine they want Israel destroyed? Why does it have to be one or the other? If it is one or the other, how do you intend to accomplish this? Name calling? I don't believe anyone on this board is named Adolph. Read your own posts. racist asshat. As soon as someone disagrees with you, you start screaming racist. Maybe since you are such an idiot you think calling someone a racist is just name calling. To me it is a serious allegation. And for about the hundredth time, point to my post. Point to where I disagreed with your Israel position. I disagree with your anti-Palestinian people positions.
  23. I never waded into the Mel Thread and feel terrible I missed his post. Peace to you Brando. The history your grandmother saw in her long life is amazing. I hope that someone in your family chronicled her life. To have someone you love that long is truly a great blessing. Sorrow shall pass, Love is forever.
  24. Steve, A true fan has to push management to put a winner on the field. Accept mediocrity and that is what you will be served. We needed to replace Colon at the min and since we are on the E-Lo thread, make up for a drop off. My hunch is Mark and E-Lo will combine for the same number of wins as last year. Being a fan is coming back each year no matter what. Not blindly cheering whatever crap the team does.
