  1. I know as an adult, salary structure, arbitration rules, FA, signing bonuses and etc. are fun winter time activities. I wonder if this is killing the sport for the kids?

    Damn good candy

Pringles has a new single serve container. I'm not a fan of their chips but they have been advertising the hell out of them here for school lunches. What is so stupid is almost every kid here receives a free school lunch.
  3. cough er spam cough For this you get more nominations than I for LOL Let me try this exciting brand of humor Link
  4. Plus Uribe will be able to understand Ozzie better than Miles.

I can't believe I have something down here before the rest of the world. We're so far behind the times, there is one video rental shop that still has Beta movies in stock. They are packaged similar to the new Pringle Snackers. They are chocolate with a couple ribbons of peanut butter. Thin like a pringles potato chip. (For you hoosiers, that is potatoe)
  6. Recycled. I can't remember my cell phone number but I can remember a joke I told 20 years ago. I guess I know what's important.
  7. This Minor League Rule V is really just a joke. I wonder who the greatest Rule V player of all time is. I can't believe I'm interested, but I am. Is there a 12 Step program to help me?
  8. Ladies and gentleman the 2004 Chicago White Sox, brought to you by Kenny Williams
  9. At least she brought the severed penis with her to the hospital, didn't Lorena toss it our a car window, prompting the motorist it hit to say: I don't know what that bug was but it was hung like a man!
  10. His attitude was excellent with the Rangers and the White Sox, too bad problems early in his career will dog him forever. I'm glad he's in the NL but hey, don't we play the Expos next season?

Same shape as a Pringles, great taste of a peanut butter cup. I know they were probably out six years ago back in civilization.
  12. 1. Certainly she now has a paralysed husband she is legally responsible for. 2. Would be considered in determining damages. Projected lifetime earnings vs. what he could earn in his present condition. 3. Even if separated, she still is responsible. Happiness won't but legal status would play in an award. 4. I'm not certain how the Wild would be less responsible if the guy was an alchoholic except that he would have been better at hiding how drunk he was. But since they kicked him out for his behavior he didn't hide it too well. How pissed would you be if you knew a bar kicked out your (insert loved one here) because he/she was too drunk. Knowing he/she probably lived a considerable distance from the bar. (how many people are at a Hawks game ~and~ live near the stadium. I guess we are looking at legally a victim or emotionaly a victim. I believe she deserves the same protection under the law as the wife of someone he may have killed. Full disclosure. Some of you know my brother died while driving drunk. The bar, after serving him 6 pitchers of beer in two and a half hours, served him close to 10 shots in the next hour before helping him out the door. They only had 22 people in the bar at the time with 2 bartenders and 3 waitresses. Anyone that tells me my mom and dad aren't victims because they were related to him has no clue. These laws are in place to protect us from ourselves. Just like motorcycle helmets, seatbelt laws, etc.
  13. What do you want to do? I dunno, what do you want to do? Let's win every auction on eBay for the next 2 hours. Do you think they want to take KW's spot at the winter meetings
  14. So I guess the Wild's defense should be "Hey! he only hurt himself, it's not like he killed someone else. Wait until that happens before suing."
  15. Honestly, I wasn't replying to you before, but I do have aquestion for you. Is the wife a victim?
  16. Maybe the LA AA affiliate needed a OF. Anyone know anything about the guys we picked up?
  17. I wasn't replying to any one post in particular, I didn't mean to make it look like I was. The wife has a law suit because we have a law on the books. To get rid of the lawsuit, you need to get rid of the law. Or how else would the law be enforced? Would you send the server to jail for a day, a week, a year?
  18. If you are unhappy with the laws write your congessman and demand that bars have the right to sell as much liquor as there customer can drink. Explain that it is a bad law that prohibits bars from getting someone as drunk as the individual wants to get. Then explain to a family who lost someone to a drunk, why it was necessary to repeal a law that helps, in a small way, to keep people from getting drunker and killing themselves and innocent people. Basically we (US society) have decided that if a company is serving an intoxicating substance that is known to impare judgement they must exercise responsibility. The paradox with alchohol is the moment that you need the most judgement is the moment you have the least capability for judgement. The Wild understood fully the laws and their responsibilities when they decided to sell liquor. I don't necessarily fault the person for availing themselves of everything under our laws.
  19. Somewhere in Southern California, someone thought you said Sooner, and got a Trojan
  20. Great, now we let facts get in the way of rightous indignation We should also remember the guy is paralysed. It's not like he's going to be dancing if he wins anything.
  21. which contributes to my point. You take dozens and dozens of prospects and hope 1 or 2 come out. Screw that. I'd give up prospects everytime for a mid season chance to win a division. Trade picks for players. I don't like any deal where we are giving up X and getting less than X in major leaguers and given prospects to make up for it.
  22. Does KW know it's Sidney Ponson **not** Sidney Australia That may explain everything. KW to JR "hey boss I can get a great deal on this city in Australia"
  23. I won't believe it until I read it in Marriotti's column
  24. Steff, What is the law if the guy has a designated driver with him? I would assume it wouldn't matter since anyone can lie. Still if a sports team lost this they will have to reevaluate their practices and the above would still be possible. I would guess that most/all teams have insurance (dram shop?) for this and the insurance carriers might raise their premiums for teams that "seat vend"
  25. Agreed and changed. Sorry, it was before my time. I'm glad we have an old timer around here
