Minnesota Wild Sued for Over Serving
Texsox replied to Texsox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Here's the bigger implication people. Let's make an assumption here. He was sitting in his middle-of-the-row seat, and was being served by a beer vendor at his seat. The vendor will not be able to hear him, see him walk, or even get a good look at his eyes. He may be 30 feet away. If the plaintif wins this suit, beer sales might be at a counter only. No more beer vendors. I support the laws that place some responsibility on the bar that is serving a product that is known to reduce reasoning and causes deaths every year. A sober bartender or waitress is in better position to judge a person's sobriety level than the drunk. Dah, we've all been there. It comes with owning a liquor license. Because of the profit on beer sales how this plays out could have a big ripple effect on ticket prices, free agent signings, when liquor sales are halted, etc. -
Wife sues Minnesota Wild for husband's crash Saturday, December 13, 2003 Posted: 9:36 PM EST (0236 GMT) ST. PAUL, Minnesota (AP) -- The wife of a hockey fan who crashed his car after drinking too much at a Minnesota Wild game has sued the team, saying her husband shouldn't have been served so much alcohol. Kris Lodahl, 37, was paralyzed in the February 8, 2002 crash. His wife, Rebecca, 39, is suing under a state law that holds bars and other establishments liable for serving someone who is obviously drunk, said her attorney, Harry Sieben Jr. She is seeking at least $50,000 in damages, claiming "loss of guidance, counsel, aide, comfort, assistance, protection and support of her husband," as well as mental anguish and financial loss. The rest of the story . . .

What would a Chicago election be without allegations of voter fraud? There is a system in place to track new registrations and where they post, including polls. BE Good

More importantly Who voted for JM? Is it an anti-Ozzie vote or a pro JM? Please tell me it's an anti-Ozzie a pro JM would be too much to take. Or was someone trying to vote in GREEN?

What about the strip tease on skates that player did during a game? OH wait, that was in a movie

Seriously. Why does Bill Wirtz still own the BlackHawks? What does he get out of it? I know it's an exclusive club he belongs to by owning a pro sports team, but the franchise hasn't held Lord Stanley's Cup in 42 years and the last time it was at the Stadium it was a Penguin holding it (IIRC). Does he really enjoy this? Why does he continue to let Pully do anything? Why does he keep hiring Sutters? Why aren't home games on local TV? Does he even care anymore? Isn't he ready to retire and please don;t tell me there is a Wirtz Jr. ready to take over.

I have the same gut feeling, I wish there was something based in fact to back it up. I would have been happier if he said he needed surgery for a hang nail on his middle toe. The only players other teams are really interested in on our roster (in order) Maggs Lee Thomas Koch Valentin Kong I've felt all along that Maggs or Lee will be in a new uniform next year. I was less certain about Thomas. I will be very shocked if all three are playing together next season, except for maybe an all-star game.

Did mamma Sutter have any daughters? They'll be coaching next
-
I think fire Sutter has been on the To Do list for 25 years. Is it an NHL rule we have to have a Sutter on the payroll?

I've been whining that draft picks, prospects and the like don't mean spit. I was wondering who was drafted ahead of Frank Thomas. Here is the 1989 top 10 picks. 1. As I was watching I kept thinking, they don't look that bad for a team that totally sucks in the standings this year. They seem to be hustling, getting back, decent passing, etc. Then I realized they were playing the Hawks

My favorite quote "It was the same thing in Atlanta," Haslett said. "He'll learn. He's only 32."

At least the guy has a great conversation piece. Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? No. As a matter of fact it's my penis, my ex-wife cut it off and I had it varnished. Want to see it?
-
Sorry to hear that.

I would like to thank everyone for responding and nominating. The nominating committee will begin sorting through all this and the polls will open on Wednesday, at the latest.

I'm not so sure. playing time and other things may factor in. Plus at his skill/salary level money matters more. If winning was that important he would have thrown himself on the Yankees or Lakers and begged them for a job at minimum.

why oh why did I post that. I walked back to see the replay of the Dallas goal.

Seriously, how excited would we be if we signed a Graffy type player? Nothing wrong with the Graff-man; but I'm not too concerned about the balance of power shifting in the AL Central with this move. The Royals are still behind us and we're still behind the Twins. Besides they had to match our Uribe move like the Red Sox and the Yankees match each other's moves.

It's tough sometimes to play fair when you know the other side won't. Still we need to live our values, no matter how irritating they can be. We want to be the shining example for the world's people to aspire to. Although a suspended sentence, full retirement benefits, and a thank you from the President might also be in order.
