Monday nite 6-16 game thread
yes he should be brimming with confidence. Exactly why he should be pulled for the 9th. Too much of a chance for a loss.

worked so well letting Colon pitch the 9tha couple days ago I'm sure JM will let him go.

Monday nite 6-16 game thread
Hehehehehe, just think about it. After tonite, hell be halfway to Colon, or a third of the way to Loz. Our "ace" will be one third of the way to a guy who I honestly did not expect to make the team...

Stuff from the Thomas thread
This is way more entertaining than about half the Sox games this year. Thank you all.

Do the Spurs win it tonight?
Well Hockey and Basketball is over I guess I have to start paying attention to the Sox.

My complete lists of SNs
Damn, I want to get thrown off a board. I'm trying to think of one a Sox fan can troll and can't think of one. Perhaps Detroit? Have we beat anyone this season?

Kenny
The team threatened to "pants" him and hang him from a locker.

A 2nd Chance for Thomas Bashers
I'd have to say don't know for certain. I do know he talks about his kids often, and I at least have the impression he sees them whenever he can, but families do cover up sometimes, I suppose. Which makes at least one in the family understanding pr. I don't know of anyone who spends as much time with their kids as they would want to. Bottom line for me after 30 years as a Sox fan, Thomas is the best hitter I've watched. In the mid 90's Frank was must see TV. It is too bad that our society places so much emphasis today on what happens outside the lines. Who really cared if Frank hired non union labor to build his house? How many times was stupid stuff like that publicized? I had the pleasure of a couple conversations with Baines and he is a true gentleman and a credit to the Sox organization, I wish circumstances would of had him playing his entire career as a Sox. But as a hitter I still would prefer to watch Frank to Baines.

Look beyond the stats. He was suppose to be the staff ace. How much does it hurt a team when your opening day starter is struggling this much?

Thomas, Alomar 4th
I'm voting for every NL stiff. If home field is at stake I want the AL to have it. Piazza's my Man! He got all 10 of my votes and I hope he plays "for the fans".

Frank
A few things are going to hurt his chances 1. His public relations skills. 2. DH most of his career. 3. Only a handfull of postseason games and he sucked in those. I feel fortunate that I've been able to see him play throught his career. During the mid 90's he was poetry to watch at the plate.

Answer this...
Negativity? Here!? This team is the greatest underachievers in my 30 years of following White Sox baseball. How's that for a positive spin wether you're a democrat or republic, gay or straight, like scary farm animal avatars or jimmy carter teeth smilin' dude avatars you have to admit this team is underperforming in a huge way.

Clicker not picked
When the "Clicker" isn't picked so far we've dropped back and taken the best performance picked. Seems to me if no one picked him, everyone missed and just move on. That may put some players back in the mix. It seems that most players pick Frank, Maggs, and Lee twice each week. By only rewarding the winner it may make more sense to gamble on Crede, DJ, PK, etc.

JERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY!!!!!!!
As Bond's ball sailed over the fence Colon should have been walking into the clubhouse with his head held high. JM should have made the move. I have three witnesses at my house, I was screaming at my computer even before the 9th went the rest oif the way to hell.
-
As If The 9th Wasn't Bad Enough.....
Ituned in as Bonds was circling the bases and my first reaction was what the f*** is Colon out there for? Who's brain dead decision was that :fyou . When I heard the pitch count was under 100 I understood. But stop right there. Call the pen after the homer. Koch has been pitching well enough of late that JM should have had enough confidence in him to close out the 9th and see if we could win this in the bottom of the 9th. If he didn;t want to go to Koch then DM or KW. Still I would have pulled him much sooner.

MB 5.18 with a 2-10 record. Jon (Cy or Judy) Garland has a 5.29 and a 4-5 A case could be made that MB should be closer to .500 with some run support. Sorry if I yawn. Mark should be closer to A. Colon 6-5 with a 3.68 B. E-Lo 9-2 with a 2.06 His ERA is 1.5 to 2.0 rpg higher than what could fairly be expected of him. He needs to give up less runs then I'll lead the pity party for him.

Comparing two stats: 1. Third lowest in run support (last two places are Tiger pitchers 2. He now has a 6.45 ERA over his last 12 starts. Sorry dude there ain't a "whole lotta love" (with apologies to Plant and co.) out there either way. A MLB pitcher isn't going to win twenty with a 6.45 ERA. He also isn't going to win 20 with the third lowest run support. Bottom line for MB is; STFU and take care of your s*** then worry about Frank and Co. taking care of their s***.
