  1. A friend of mine from high school posted this video and commented at least it's Cubbie blue. I responded that Cubbie blue usually isn't good for preventing choking.
  2. I try to be consistent and think down the road, could I say the same thing when it's a Dem.
  3. Is there an incentive for hospitals to under report? I can't think of one, there probably isn't, but nothing surprises me.
  4. We will open the beaches by Easter
  5. While an argument could be made that football is now America's sport, I think as a moral boost mom, baseball, and apple pie would be bigger. Outside in the sunshine with a beer and hotdog.
  6. Graduation that year was interesting. We bowed as we crossed the stage. And, can't we strive to do better?
  7. There are also a large number of retirees and "work from an internet connection" employees who have created America enclaves in low cost countries like Mexico.
  8. I'm all for a careful study of ramping back to work. It seems plausible that we could start with workers who are least at risk and move to the most at risk instead of waiting for it to be safe for the most at risk group.
  9. I'm not certain I would agree with that. I believe sports could be a big part of bringing back normalcy. It's one of those uniting events.
  10. Do you believe that the President of the US has a greater responsibility in what he says than anyone else?
  11. OK. I should have been more specific. Did I miss where President Trump said sodium hydroxide had been used for a long time and was SAFE to consume. That would be more accurate to what he did.
  12. Which brings up something I hadn't thought of. I assume that US citizens living abroad who file US tax returns would receive a stimulus check as well?
  13. Did I miss where President Trump said Drano had been used for a long time and was SAFE to consume?
  14. Here's another problem with what they did (and clearly they are also responsible for being stupid). They ingested the aquarium cleaner version. Who knows what else was in it? If this does prove to be an effective medication, how many people will hesitate because of these two?
  15. Kind of forgotten in the negotiations, and one I would like to see. For the cruise ship industry, no help for foreign flagged vessels. Disney cruises and the rest who fly "flags of convenience" should petition those countries for economic help.
  16. Sadly, without those steps, 59,936,000 could have played the game . . . And that's the issue. We will never know if we over reacted. We will know if we under react. If only a few thousand people die in this country and a hundred thousand people are ill, a group of people will believe it was only an existential crisis and say "look at all we did and this was all that it really was"! Still others will believe that our actions "flattened the curve" and averted a real crisis. No one will know for certain.
  17. I'm wondering what it could look like in terms of scheduling if fans were not in attendance. No need for teams to travel as much. They could designate five stadiums to host games with six teams assigned to each stadium at a time. Play a round robin schedule of 20 games each with three games played per day then rotate teams after all the games are played. It's basically a TV show at that point. Pick five stadiums within a reasonable driving distance and they could avoid all air travel.
  18. As the most powerful person on the planet the president of the United States's words are carefully reviewed by everyone from the Kremlin to the kitchen. When the president speaks, It's a platform that should be treated with a great deal of respect, caution, and diligence because it wields a tremendous amount of power and influence. That platform is greater than the person holding the office. It does not appear to me that Trump believes the office is greater than he is. Some call it respect for the office, I'll just call it an awareness. Middle of the night tantrum tweets are beneath the office. Mocking handicapped people is beneath the office. Repeating speculation and internet memes is beneath the office. But his support base is anti-establishment and that's how they discuss the issues. He's being true to the people that put him in office.
  19. After 58 years on this planet revolving around the sun it is obvious to me that people would buy it and try it. It would have been better to not mention the drugs specifically.
  20. I understand wanting to open the doors. Hell, everybody wants to get back to normal. In theory I even like allowing state and local governments to make decisions for their local areas. But the feds should be the most pessimistic.
  21. Lindsey is a girl's name < for old times sake
  22. With two teachers here trying to work from home we needed to create two spaces. Plus I created a video or audio recording space that my wife ignores. I wanted to have a space with a nice background. I had multiple doctor appointments scheduled over the next few weeks and it's interesting how they are now trying to limit unnecessary appointments. Makes me wonder why they were so insistent on these follow up visits when they first scheduled them. My ophthalmologist wants to see me twice a year or will not renew my prescriptions - until now. How much time and money have I wasted?
  23. Can anyone put this in plain English? They aren't actually voting on THE bill, but on a shell bill . . .
  24. You can't be the smartest person in the room if you agree with the majority.
