You be the judge
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 12:09 PM) They never had knowledge, Tex...they had rumor/speculation and then used their position of authority to intimidate the student into divulging information she had no interest in telling them, or her mother. I am not going to risk my career and reputation by not calling the police if I suspect there is an innapropriate relationship happening.

If you have knowledge of an adult having sex with a minor child. Seems like a police matter. Let them investigate and decide. Now do you also tell her parents that you notified the police?

You be the judge
Seems like an easy decision. Possible abuse here between an adult and a child. They needed to report it to someone. Actually they should have called the police.

Parenting Thread
My daughter turns 21 next month. If some guy breaks her heart I will kill him. I am a Texan with a shotgun. Every age is wonderful, every stage better than the one before. My son has had one major f*** up, and a really terrible year in college. Other than that, just a great kid. My daughter's only fault is she is too conservative in her politics. I like her social conservative side, the political side is troubling. But I taught them to think for themselves, and I don't mind living with the results. Start saving so you can get them what they need. Budget so you could give them what they want, and develop the backbone to say know to some of the things that they want. One thing my kids figured out, at a checkout don't start grabbing candy and crap, grab a book and it gets bought. They visited colleges when they were two. They grew up with the expectation that college stops with a PhD. I am certain my son will achieve his. My daughter is about ready to start working. Yeah teething sucks. There are emotion and physical bumps and bruises growing up and those really do hurt parents more than the kids.

Worse Public Bathroom

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) As someone who may be deciding to have kids soon, I feel like a thread like this will make me regret that decision. Especially with the internet, it feels like the complaing about the kids is way more prevalent than the enjoyment of having kids. It is easier to complain.- Worse Public Bathroom
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) What, no votes for the Minneapolis airport bathrooms? They are only bad if you are a member of congress with a "wide stance"- Kept off the ballot for not speaking English
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 05:29 AM) In order to write laws in English you have to be fluent in it. I doubt that the official writes the laws, in most cases they hire an attorney or have one on staff.- Kept off the ballot for not speaking English

And to my left, receiving the serve is Adam Dunn Here's the first serve 15-0 Here's the second serve 30-0 Here's the third 40-0 And the fourth serve brings us to game At least in tennis Dunn could miss four times before sitting down.- Kept off the ballot for not speaking English
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) Isn't there a certain level of English proficiency required to become a citizen? If she can't speak good enough to run, how the hell did she speak good enough to become legal? She was born in the US and lives in a community where 87% of the people speak a language other than English. I guess we could write a law that anyone born in the US must speak English or give up their citizenship.- Butler National Golf Club considering female members
I attended several tournaments there, including the Sunday run of Scott Verplank(A). It is a beautiful course. Diana Dikta coined a word for women at most Country Clubs WORMS, wives of regular members.- Kept off the ballot for not speaking English
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) Presumably this law in Arizona was passed by politicians who were elected themselves, correct? And they weren't replaced after passing this law? Thus, having english speaking candidates only in that state is in fact the decision of the voters. I thought of that, and it is a good point. The counter is that statewide politicians are making laws for local elections. I'm not a fan of that, same as I'm not a fan of federal laws governing state elections.- Kept off the ballot for not speaking English
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/02/08/arizo...?iref=obnetwork I have always advocated for letting the voters decide.- Parenting Thread

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) So what you're saying is that he's now going to leave to pursue tennis? Dunn playing tennis is like a Lionel Richie song . . . Endless Love- Real World Border Fence Issues
Hmm, lots of gates, landowners with pass codes, citizens locked into a no man's land, pass codes for visitors, lol what a giant waste of money. But it helped some lawmakers to get reelected, helped some people feel like we're doing something about illegal immigration, and we're stopping drugs from getting to customers in your hometown. Imagine if the government built a fence around your home and gave you a code to the gate that they say will work. Of course they wouldn't accidentally change the code.- Real World Border Fence Issues

Is anyone using a book ap to catalog and track your library? I've downloaded a couple and have thought about the time it would take to barscan them all. I'm not certain it is worth it.- Penn State horror story
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) It's "out of scale" because of how many people are defending him on a national level "out of scale", saying he didn't do anything wrong, shouldn't have been fired, etc. Last I checked PSU wasn't rioting over Sandusky or McQueary, nor were articles being written to defend them, etc. It's pretty easy to see how it follows. Yes, out of scale in both the defense and the attacks.- Penn State horror story
Is it possible to believe that Paterno is guilty by not doing enough, and that the condemnation of him as a person is out of scale as compared to others who were also involved without defending him? Mike McQueary and Mrs. Sandusky IMHO should be the ones that receive the highest condemnation. But his name is forgotten because he told someone famous.- Penn State horror story
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) Because children were raped and it never could have happened had he not been willing to look the other way. So why does he deserve a pass? He doesn't deserve a pass and I never said that. But that isn't how you like to discuss stuff. You like to twist s*** and make up stuff. I have consistently said that others DESERVE MORE OF THE BLAME. And those individuals that were eyewitnesses and ear witnesses to the abuse have received far less of the public scorn and attacks than Paterno. That seems lopsided. Where have I ever said he deserves a pass? But you will make up statements like that. So why do you think his wife should be given a pass even though she was home when the abuse happened and heard it? Why do you think the eye witnesses deserve a pass?- Kim Jong Il Died
Crazy on so many levels.- Penn State horror story
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) So why do you give Joe Paterno a pass? I can play this game with you. Why do you believe he should have been sent to South America and made to live in a mud hut? - Parenting Thread
