Opt-In Fire Protection
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 07:22 AM) It puts the FD in an awful position - you are telling firefighters to stand there and watch a building burn down. Or even worse, they watched as fire burned down a house while saving the neighbors grass. They did work to contain the flames. What would have happened if this fire jumped out of control and thousands of acres burned?

Opt-In Fire Protection
I saw an interview with him last night. He made a great comment. He pointed out the lack of industry in their area and asked rhetorically, if you were a business thinking of moving there, would you? He claims he forgot to pay it and also mentioned county taxes that he paid that do go to the city's general fund. If they have his money in the general fund doesn't that allow the city to take general funds and move them to the fire protection district? Seems like a valid point. A giant red flag to me is he also mentioned people he knew who did not pay it *and* the city still responded.

Jersey must be happy- Opt-In Fire Protection
A communal fireprotection service sounds like socialism and that's wrong. There are areas of the country without any fire protection services. I'm not certain who would write the law that fireprotection was required? Would the county write it for a town? The state for a county? The feds for the states for the county for the town? I'm guessing this isn't a legal issue.- Quietly so no one sees . . .
- World teachers day today!
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) So where's Tex? They throwing him a huge bash? Give me two or three more years and I may consider calling myself a teacher. Honestly, in my career I have supervised multi million dollar projects and they were easier than this.- Opt-In Fire Protection
BTW Gene Cranick is now known as the dumb f*** that didn't pay the fee. Around town, similar stupid ass things will be known as pulling a Cranick.- Opt-In Fire Protection
Didn't we have this same story a couple years ago? Wouldn't it be wonderful if a private company could offer fire protection services for less and undercut the county?- How many games will this team win in 2010?
QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 09:12 AM) Late 80s... I'm gonna go with 88. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) I am taking 88 as well. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) I'd put the Sox at 88 Wins with a 45% chance of winning the division. For the record, i'd have the Twins around 89 wins. Not a huge disparity between the two teams, which is why having an actual DH would help. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) I am feeling 88 wins QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) 88 and the division. this is a shot in the dark since I haven't really paid much attention to what the Twins, Tigers and Indians did aside from the big moves this offseason. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) 88 QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) By the way, looking at the poll results, it seems like the crowd is saying about 88 wins. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) It will have to be a paycut. The Sox have almost all of the leverage in this situation. Nobody likes AJ. Nobody wants AJ. I little too much hyperbole.- Revival of Sox Supporters Game (10/1)
QUOTE (joeynach @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) More of a logical business choice to me. You wouldnt pay $$ to go see bad movies would you. Put a good show on, show us a quality product and Ill spend my $$ on your tickets. Put a crappy show and team out there, no saying I wont support or be a fan, but I have no reason to spend my limited entertainment $$ on you then. Thats a good fans motto, something that doesn't exist on the Northside. The problem with that analogy is you know in advance what the movie will be like. The movie results do not change from day to day. With a sporting event, you do not know if it will be a good or bad game. Heading out to the ballpark to watch baseball is a good show. If you judge the experience by the team winning or not, then you would never go because you do not know the results before the game. Even two last place MLB teams put on a damn fine movie show.- Quietly so no one sees . . .
You have to be crazy to keep on in this thread, which I am.- Sarah Kustok's mother murdered.
With all the alphabet shows on TV, NCIS, CSI, etc, why can't people do a better job of murder? The right hand/right side of the face for example. A little GSR on the hands. Prayers to the innocent people affected by this.- Quietly so no one sees . . .

QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) 15/15. That many people haven't heard of the Great Awakening? I thought it was a prominent part of High School history courses. I guess it's not surprising considering some of the things many Americans don't know about U.S. History. We actually cover the effects in middle school history, yet I missed it.
