  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) Now, I don't mean to come off as a condescending prick.. The greats do without even trying. Congrats. Your superiority of being white comes through so well.

    In my important papers are the login and passowords to a few sites for my family to notify. There have been several posters here who have dropped from postiong (NukeCleveland), and we never know if they got pissed off, bored, or worse.

  4. I guess allowing people to shoot illegals and not legals would solve a problem for some folks. I'd prefer to treat each human life the same. Imagine hoards of hunters gunning down illegals. It would be heaven to some groups. I'll stop with the Kaperbole™ The problem with allowing him to try to kill these guys is there are legit reasons for someone to be taking his trailer. The guys may have been taking a repo. Then we have the property owner saying I thought they were stealing it. Allowing anyone with a gun to be judge and executioner for property crimes is something we probably do not want. What if he was saying to his neighbor, sorry that bullet went through your window and killed your son, but dammit, they were taking my trailer, you understand?" I can't believe the thieves are not charged yet. Even to use the worse reason to charge them, the politics.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) Tex, I think it's more me being on vacation than anything. I don't think that is it, I have you on ignore.
  6. The team is playing amazing baseball . . . Ahh so quiet.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) I accidentally yelled at a retarded kid when I was lighting fireworks yesterday. He kept digging in my bag and mixing s*** and bringing them to me and insisting I light them after the adults repeatedly told them to stop (like all the other kids were doing) and he happened to be the next one that stepped over the line. I had no idea, but damn did I feel s***ty. lol. On the bright side I guess, I don't think he actually comprehended the fact that I was mad because I wasn't really yelling and he sounded confused but I had to tell him "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell" anyway and explain why I didn't want them touching that s***. Really, a buddy of mine's facebook update was the same thing.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) So the Sox intramural track and field team still has hope. Damn you, you made me laugh while reading one of the most depressing threads of the year.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) I was being the Sarcastic Tex. fixed I believe that is the only Tex
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) Oh and by the way..."WHERE'S THE OIL!!!"
  11. They think the tar balls are from ship hulls that went through the spill.
  12. Looking at the bright side, while average starting pitching is hard to find mid season, it is probably better to have a pitcher out for a few starts than several of our position players.
  13. Tar balls on the Texas beaches. f***
  14. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) That's an inconvenient observation. LOL

  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) We could compare stories... My dad is on our version of socialized medicine in the USA as a veteran. Even after the national stories broke about how bad their care was, nothing has changed. As a matter of a fact I could detail the last month of run arounds he has had as he tries to find someone to do an operation that would usually be considered an emergency surgery. At the VA, he got sent home. This is the version of health care that was supposed to be what we should all aspire to... I would hope that the VA will also benefit as we overhaul our medical system here. For my entire lifetime there have been complaints. I am optimistic this will be an area that will see some nice strides. But, I'm always optimistic about Americans tackling tough problems. We are much better that that than other countries.
  17. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) If he were here, he'd be better. Oh wait, he'd be dead, because he would never get seen, pre-existing conditions, no insurance, etc. ... ... ... because you know, it's Amerikkka, home of the suckiest health system on earth ™. Amongst the kaperbole is the truth. IF he had insurance, he may have been better off. If he did not have insurance, no doubt he would have been much worse off.

  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) Most conservatives here do call out Republicans when they mess up. That pretty much makes that a moot point True. Except both sides start differing as to what is, and what is not, a "screw up".
  20. Look at guys who are fired a year or two after being named manager of the year. The modern manager has to blend to the players he has. What may work with one set of players is an epic failure with a different set. The days of a manager with a my way or the highway approach has been gone since Curt Flood.
  21. It is hard to say. Ozzie and Gardenhire are shortstops and Leyland is a catcher. And at their ages I just don't see them making much of a contribution. Actually to really answer the question you have to know the personality of the players and if they are charging or being charged. I'd be happy and unhappy with any of the three. Based on history, I'd take Ozzie with a lead and any of the three doing the chasing.
  22. Happy Birthday!!
  23. Congrats to Matt. One more game in a 162 regular game season, plus spring training, plus post season, isn't much of a deal to me. Just off the top of my head I can't think of the All-Star game causing anyone any serious problems for the second half. I actually think home run derbies do more damage for some guys.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) Well, unless you earn about $250k per year. Then you're set. That's the way the Republicans like it. Come on, that is grossly inaccurate, misleading, and wrong even for you. The $250,000 threshold only applies to minorities, WASPs are admitted at a much lower income level. I kid because I care™

    Right eye dominant and am R/R in baseball. I screwed around with batting lefty and was a decent drag bunter from the left side until teams caught on. I did attempt to improve my putting by trying left handed. I stuck with it for about a year and was better from 6' in but sucked at anything over 20'. I couldn't lag to save my butt. I am also goofy foot on a skateboard or surfboard.
