  1. HowManyOfMe.com There are people with my name in the U.S.A. How many have your name?
  2. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) That's true. But the article seems pretty well-informed overall, which is rare with national media outlets. Thanks for posting. I was amazed at how even handed the article was. The good with the bad.
  3. I hadn't thought about it, but I always thought Clemens got hosed a couple seasons ago with a sub 2.0 ERA, now that we know he may have juiced, I'm rather happy he didn't win it.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) I got "surprise gayed" by one of my college friends recently. It’s a weird feeling, because it makes you reexamine every conversation you ever had with the guy. I don’t think I’ve ever said anything homophobic to him, but I was pretty open about talking to him about getting girls, essentially, I talked to him like a straight guy would talk to another straight guy. I know this shouldn’t bother me, because I never even suspected he was gay, but I do wonder if I ever seemed like an asshole in any of our conversations. That happened to me with a co-worker. One day we were talking about going to the Bulls game and he said, "hey, you do know I'm gay? me "no, I didn't know, kiss me; just kidding". him "Does this mean we aren't going to the Bulls game?" me" no, it means we're going to have a hard time after the game finding a bar that we'll both find some action" :-) I'd be lying if I said it didn't change our friendship.
  5. garments are great,
  6. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) Congrats on your first wife... whoops...sorry. Yep, remember you only get two or three chances at true happiness
  7. Can we also add kilts? http://www.mountaingear.com/pages/product/...item/552031/N/0
  8. Are shorts or skirts a better option?

  10. Tremendous day, I have lots to be thankful for
  11. QUOTE (Downtown518 @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) I have a Blackberry, if I dial a number like 866-SOX-GAME and dial that exact number with SOX-GAME spelled out in caps it will automatically dial the number correctly. Hmm, I will have to try my DASH, and if that doesn't work, add another reason to my list of why I screwed up by not buying a Blackberry
  12. It would seem like an easy program to be able to qwerty dial the number. I searched and so far no such program.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) It'd be nice if there was some way of saying with a measure of statistical significant that there was an above-average number of them. I believe it was significant to the McMahon's, Fawcetts, Kennedy's, Hugh's, . . . First you would have to define the population, and that is the biggest challenge, defining "them".
  14. Quit wearing them for a while
  15. http://www.rr.com/news/news/article/rr/900...summer_09/full/ Ceaseless deaths of the famous mark summer '09
  16. I have a full qwerty keyboard on my pjone, so if some company advertises a number as (123)-456-SURF I have no way of converting SURF to the numbers. I try and remember which is which, but I'm old and feeble. Whst do you youngin's do?
  17. On the water is cool. No surfing this weekend, the Gulf was glass on this side.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 11:12 AM) 1-4, who cares what order they go in... Buehrle should start opening day for tradition's sake. But after that, it should be 1-2-3-4, and skip the 5th whenever you can. The problem with the Sox is that they don't skip the 5th starter enough. Next year, I want the top four to start at least 33 games. Barring injury and off day swaps, it would be 33-33-32-32-32 starts. I just do not see that big of a difference in setting a goal of taking two starts away from the 5th starter, whomever he is, to get to 33-33-33-33-30.
  19. My o' my what a cool weekend on South Padre Island.
  20. Well, that is a good day.
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Come on. An airplane can fall on me when I walk out my door today, but it's not going to happen. but we can hope , , ,
  22. Unbelievable the feel of the power of the waves
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Depends on how you define lifestyle choices. Driving can be defined as a lifestyle choice. It'd be worth really looking in to the methodology to understand what exactly they're counting, but I don't have the time right now. I think that at worst they're probably at the right order of magnitude even if you just count random things; like people getting cancer, or diabetes, or infections, or the flu, and then being unable to afford treatment. Early mortality seems awfully inexact to measure. The working definition would be the key. Something as simple as "how early" would be problematic. And this may be one of my top three concerns in this debate. I want decisions to be made on accurate information, not slogans and biased figures. I want both parties to rigorously debate this.
  24. surfing this weekend
