  1. Really feeling, imprisoned by the way it used to be Left here on my own or so it seems I got to leave before I start to scream But someone's locked the door and took the key
  2. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) Yea, because the Democrats have power, she has no purpose anymore. Exactly. And in the everyone does it, Republicans are looking for their version As for his films, I have no desire to watch current propaganda, not even for entertainment sake. Now I love some of the old cold war stuff.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) We can call this the geog-off contest. uff nicely played sir.
  4. This becomes a definition problem. Trying to develop (pun intended) a definition of what should be reported and choosing to err on the side of caution. Certainly most people will agree that it should not be up to a clerk at Walmart to decide what is, and is not, acceptable. So you give them some standard like "the pictures cannot show a child's genitalia" Seems easy enough. The clerk does not have to make a judgment call, they see a child's genitalia, and turn them over to police. Presumably, to someone with some training and judgment. Then you write a different procedures and laws that outline what should be investigated and what to do while the investigation is happening. It would be a nightmare to discover that a child was being sexual abused in the home while police were investigating, especially if they had photo evidence that something may have been wrong. We'd string them up by their genitalia. So standard operating procedure is remove the child(ren) while the investigation take place. Again, erring on the side of caution. A series of common sense procedures add up to this mess and a nightmare for one family. Everyone doing the right thing, and it ending up all wrong.
  5. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Like I said, on the outside it seems nice and dandy... enough so for some folks to carve an actual happy lifestyle out of it. I have nothing against them. That's why we're here. But it doesn't change my opinion one bit. You call it hatred, sure I may share some dissent for those who brainwash, personally I find it a disgusting tactic to get one to submit themselves to a religion. The bottom line for me is that NO one single person can act as an authority of God. LDS acts as if they are the best of the best, Gods greatest children and Gods favorite. They feed this kind of propaganda to the youth to keep them within their circle for their whole lives. It is a giant scam and a giant lie, of the greatest magnitude possible! Think about it... what greater a scam then one based on a religion that people entrust their faith to? Religion is one of those things which is seemingly right and just in a world of confusion and hypocrisy. People turn to religion to help them get in touch with God. It is a sought-after service. So what better a way to scam people? Earn their faith and trust with the "words of God", and then you can perform any wicked, evil act you wish, on behalf of God and Jesus Christ. I'd be willing to wager that God and Jesus were not Mormons. I'd be willing to wager that when it is all said and done, in a just world, those who do evil things in the name of God and Jesus Christ are resigned to go to Hell. It's not hate, to me it's logic. And those who carved out themselves a happy life.. be they Mormon, Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, what have you, will find themselves also in a happy place after life. I'm more so focusing on the exploiters, the wealthy, those who use God to benefit themselves financially. As I said originally in this post, I share an extreme dissent for those kinds of people. Sorry for the confusion. Sure you don't.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Thanks for the well wishes!!! So when is the baby due?
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) And yet, which President gets remembered as a bumbling fool for falling down the air force 1 stairs? President Chevy Chase
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) Whatever house my wife and I buy, it will have a basement, and I will eventually (if its not already there) wall in a small room that will be the "offices" for my non-profit wilderness outfit. The walls will be entirely covered in maps. World map, US map, divide trail map, Quetico map, all full of tacks and notations and markings for where we have been and where we want to go. Other than maps, it will have one big beat up table in the middle to lay out navigations, and a beer fridge. That's it. gawd I am ready for that. Anyway, as it is we actually have some cool historical maps as decorations here and there, which fortunately my wife also likes. Awesome room to drink a few beers in.
  9. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) This is true, outside of SLC there is a bevy of national parks and forests, all beautiful of course. The beauty of nature is untouched by the ugly Mormon religion. Interesting that none of the Mormon friends I have have nearly as much hate as you. And I find hate to be the most destructive of all emotions.
  10. America was feeling like giant losers on the heels of Vietnam, Nixon, Ford, and being held hostage by Iran. Reagan came in, literally wearing a western hat and riding tall in the saddle like a cowboy, and made made America believe we could kick ass again. #1 feat of any President since I can remember. And for that I ranked him #1. He also taught both parties to spend, spend, spend. Started the anti-judiciary and anti-journalism movements for the GOP. Carter is far underrated for getting all the hostages back alive. Today, they would have been dead.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) I'm a geography nerd, I love maps, My gf and I were just discussing decorating, I hesitantly mentioned I really wanted to decorate with topo maps of some of the places I've been or want to go. She thought it was a great idea One caveat, she wanted new ones, not the annotated, used ones form the trip. And we are planning on framing them, not just the bachelor pinning to the wall.
  12. Reagan did more positive and more negative than any of the others. Overall, I placed him slightly head of a couple others.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) I'd suggest that New Mexico, Montana and Colorado beat Utah in that category, maybe Idaho too. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon . . . A case could be built for all that you mentioned. And a tip of the cap that you stayed land locked.
  14. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Yeah whatever. I just threw that out there. So forget everything else and just go to The Pie. What do you expect from a Mormon? I kid because I care™
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) I'm told there are 2 in the U.S. with my first and last name. My dad has the same first and last name as me. I was reading the methodology on how they calculate the number, it is not exact because the census does not track first names anymore. If you have a common name, the count may be understated, uncommon slightly overstated.
  16. For outdoor recreation, no land locked state tops Utah. The LDS tirade? He's being brainwashed by the haters.
  17. HowManyOfMe.com There are people with my name in the U.S.A. How many have your name?
  18. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) That's true. But the article seems pretty well-informed overall, which is rare with national media outlets. Thanks for posting. I was amazed at how even handed the article was. The good with the bad.
  19. I hadn't thought about it, but I always thought Clemens got hosed a couple seasons ago with a sub 2.0 ERA, now that we know he may have juiced, I'm rather happy he didn't win it.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) I got "surprise gayed" by one of my college friends recently. It’s a weird feeling, because it makes you reexamine every conversation you ever had with the guy. I don’t think I’ve ever said anything homophobic to him, but I was pretty open about talking to him about getting girls, essentially, I talked to him like a straight guy would talk to another straight guy. I know this shouldn’t bother me, because I never even suspected he was gay, but I do wonder if I ever seemed like an asshole in any of our conversations. That happened to me with a co-worker. One day we were talking about going to the Bulls game and he said, "hey, you do know I'm gay? me "no, I didn't know, kiss me; just kidding". him "Does this mean we aren't going to the Bulls game?" me" no, it means we're going to have a hard time after the game finding a bar that we'll both find some action" :-) I'd be lying if I said it didn't change our friendship.
  21. garments are great,
