QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) For those with kids who are Elmo nuts, Kohl's has Elmo Live online only for $60 right now. I think they are $80 at Toys-r-us. God I miss those days. Now it's iPods and trips.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Couldn't disagree more, tex. One of the biggest stains on the United States ever, used against us constantly in foreign affairs negotiations and the new guy comes in and stands strong that he will come up with a way to deal with them morally and legally. Every day GITMO remains operating as is, is another disgraceful day to America's reputation. Interesting, I agree with your entire post. The only disagreement is the timing. I'd prefer he wait to be President and then begin making decisions, after he actually becomes President and has all the info. I can't wait for him to be the new guy. Bottom line. I prefer a leader who gathers all the facts, or at least as many as possible, before making a decision. WMD in Iraq Y'all prefer a shoot from the hip, manage from the gut type of guy. Damn, I thought I was the Texan

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) You've been hanging out with some pretty bad people if you're at Gitmo. So have the prison guards, doesn't make them guilty.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) There is no information that I can imagine And I can't imagine any either, but I leave the possibility open that there could be.
-
Whoa. I am not necessarily a fan of Gitmo, but I really wish he waited until he was President and presumably receives "the rest of the story". I am thinking, guessing, hoping, that there is more information that Obama does not have that may come into this decision. So basically, I wish he would slow the f*** down and stfu until he has a couple days in office.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metrop...an/6115223.html This is an outrage. This should be very quick and effective. Commit a violent crime and adios. I'd also like to deport all native born citizens that are convicted, but that would be impracticable.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) Where I think every player stands right now. So based on career numbers?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) If there was a politician molded after SS2K5, I'd vote for him. If it meant he would never post again, there are lots of people that would vote for him.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) If I win the Presidency, I will never post on Soxtalk again! It would be the honorable thing to do We're gonna miss you. Except, they always come back.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) Yeah, you guys are going to be really shocked when I quit posting on Jan 20. Was this some kind of Fathom type bet . . .

In the buster I tagged Obama with a screen name POTUS2K9, I thought it would be fun to see what other famous people should have as their screen names. Mel Gibson - God4LifeinCA

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) POTUS2K9 meets Alpha Dog. Hilarity ensues. we both posted at the same time

Come on, without a laptop and internet connection, how is POTUS2k9 Going to post on Soxtalk? I was going to learn him some politics in the 'buster

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) Run the country? Exactly. What CEO under 70 years-old do you think is untethered? It's like the POTUS has to Hey Mister an email?

Personally, I understand the security aspects, and the fear of anything and everything becoming public, but it seems like there should be a middle ground here that would allow the President of the US to use some tools. No computer on his desk? That's crazy. No computer, no cell phone, no crackberry? What's left to do? Hey Monica, whatcha doing . . .

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:11 AM) I'm not interested in the partisanship aspect. I think the interesting aspect of his choices so far is that he's building a team that knows how to work with Congress and pass legislation, whether or not they were the most effective partisan warriors. That sounds like an oxymoron.

I'm guessing Balta already posted this, but I seemed to have missed it. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27740220/ We should have known More, much more than this, at the link.

That is really cool. I'm wondering when the home version will be available. ^^^^^^^^ Green

It certainly is nice to see that Palin has had a lasting impact on political discourse in America.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle5172770.ece I have an interest in live aboard sailing and have been following reports of pirates in the Gulf of Aden. They have been attacking private yachts for quite a while now. There have been efforts to create a corridor for private non commercial vessels to pass. Many people retire to boats, much like RVs. They cruise the world or just stick to the Caribbean and such.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 08:49 AM) It looks like this was based off just this past season. That is kind of what I thought. But then JD's last three seasons were mentioned, and which GMs would take Danks. So things get a little muddied.
-
Palin 2012 There is a little bit of irony that people talk about how biased the media is, and how great bloggers are. I wonder how many people voted based on b.s. and falsehoods about a candidate?
-
It would be helpful to understand how you defined "top"? Over their career? Last season? Last couple three seasons? Their best play for a week or two? How you predict they will play next season? In what order baseball GMs would want them on their team?

One of my all time favs by William Carlos Williams Red Wheelbarrow so much depends upon a red wheel barrow glazed with rain water beside the white chickens.
