  1. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Tex, makes you wonder... why would they stop? Seems to help Hillary. You are complaining about a system that allowed Obama to LOSE the popular vote and GAIN more delegates? GMAB They stopped bacause they were overrun and no one knew the results. At my precint, it was chaos. Everyone that wanted to get in could not. And this area went 75-25 for Clinton. So it would seem this did not help her. Statewide over 800,000 people showed up when they were expecting 100,000. No one was ready for that.
  2. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) Talk about a slippery slope. If we're going at it with that angle, lets get rid of 90% of prescription drugs. 90% of prescription drugs? Seems like we always need new antibiotics, cancers drugs, etc.
  3. I think there is time to adjust how the HoF is run. I have not worked out the details in my mind, so of anyone really wants to take my halfbaked idea and poke holes in it, it would be easy so I'm not even going to bother defending. but There needs to be a space for Rose, Bonds, Mark, while keeping the rest of the HoF "clean".
  4. QUOTE(max power @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:44 AM) So every contract in baseball that is long term is a spectacular deal because 'they always go up'? That's the only argument you've presented. Well Max, you seem to care waaay more about this issue then I. Without hardly any deep analysis of the upcoming free agents, without spending hours pouring over the upcoming financial situation for MLB owners. Without checking in with Rowand, I took a wild guess that he was going to continue to get better, and contracts would continue to increase. And I totally forgot about Mathews Jr. Would you mind if I ran all my posts by you before I post so I don't make such ridiculous predictions again?

    School Reunions

Crap my 30th High School reunion is next year.
  6. I was just thinking that if pot was legal and alcohol was illegal, that the alcohol drinkers would be making similar arguments and comparisons to pot. But may be we do not need to make available every escapism mood elevator in our society.
  7. BTW, I hope in relating these stories and debating this issue, we all can agree that racism is alive and well throughout America. Sadly, we seem to minor in the major issues involved and major in the minor. The slightest slip of the tongue, or poorly phrased statement ruins a person's career while bigger issues are ignored.
  8. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) what is your definition of an American Car? GM where the HQ is in Detroit, but most of the assembly takes place in Mexico or Toyota where the HQ is in Japan but most of the assembly takes place in the US? North America content. From the wheel to the antennas, where are the components coming from and where are they being put together.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) I wouldn't compare Indy to most places. It seems like a really big small town to me. I didn't really like it there much at all. What is all of them? Correct, please select . . . I'll take boring Indiana Cities for $400 Alex . . .
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) So THAT'S how that big tub of goo Ruben beat my boy Clay on American Idol, huh? Proud to say I am the only person in America that has never watched a moment of American Idol.
  11. The important thing, it would seem, is which Buerhle feels is a higher honor.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 10:53 AM) Why I oughtta!
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) Just to add clarification on Vasquez, apparently he requested the release. Exactly what I thought. Good move for everyone involved.
  14. BTW, I've been hoping for a five ballot floor fight at the convention. I want lots of secret backroom deals, accusations, dirty tricks, the whole deal.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 10:01 AM) Not me. Swish, OC then 3-4-5 With what we have to choose from, that's about as good as it gets.
  16. Great post jenks. I'm not convinced that the alcohol companies would not be in favor of removing the penalties. People are drinking less, and I think the alcohol companies have the best chance at having an infrastructure to produce and deliver pot.
  17. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:36 AM) How many would want their surgeon drinking right before operating? I don't know where this argument has gone because I'm not going to read through all the posts, but, c'mon. And if it came down to it, I'd rather a baked out surgen went through my insides than a wasted drunk one. If it were ever legalized, which I don't think it will be, they're not just going to say, "GET BAKED ALL YOU WANT! WHENEVER YOU WANT! WHERE YOU WANT!" That came out of a post that stated people actually drove better high then sober. I assumed if getting high makes you a better driver, it must help other skills like operating.
  18. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 08:21 AM) I recall that one of the major museums in Memphis, if you go to the area describing the Battle of Memphis and the Civil War, the exhibit is actually called The War of Northern Aggression. That term The War of Northern Aggression also gets bandied about concerning events here starting in 1846
  19. Interesting that the northerns were the first to propose violence
  20. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 07:37 AM) You have no idea how wrong you are. Native Americans are still treated like garbage up there. Not only that but they import other peoples racists and wackos who hang out in the woods and mountains then they broadcast on shortwave radio. Showing that northerners are racist proves me wrong, how? And I was thinking more the cowboys down here, the Native inhabitants of this land were Mexicans.
  21. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 05:42 PM) I guess it all depends on how disabled this girl really is... It doesn't sound like she'd of had any reasonable quality of life anyway. And you wouldn't want to risk some sicko raping her and causing a pregnancy that would just turn out to be a disaster in everyway. However it they are only mildly retarded or physically disabled with no altering of mental function then I think that this would be totally the wrong thing to do. I do agree though that they opens up pandora's box though... And it can be dangerous in the wrong context. I'm no expert, but it seems she could still be raped. If someone is so sick and such a lowlife to rape a mentally handicapped person, a flat chest and smaller build might not stop them. Seems sick to even bring up.
  22. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 05:37 PM) As someone who lives in Montana for over 2 years I don't give a s*** where it is geographically the people in that region are far more like southerners then northerners. It's big cowboy culture up there. I can't remember the last time I saw cowboys roaming around Chicago, New York, or any other major northern city. cowboys are southern? So now Colorado, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, etc. are all Southern states? BTW, Illinois sits further south than Kentucky and Virginia. And at least from the stories I've read, cowboys were among the least racist groups. The cabaleros from Mexico worked side by side with the Anglos. As long as you could get your work done, all was cool. Here is a list of race riots in the US. North vs. South, you make the call.
  23. congrats, but I would not add it to your resume just yet How do you like ISU?
