  3. QUOTE (juddling @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) I signed up hours ago...even took a nap and never recieved a 'validation email' like i was supposed to. I just tried registering for the site again a few minutes ago so we'll see. After signing up it should redirect you to a page that you can "verify" your account on, should be a button there.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) I was interested in joining...until I noticed Joe said the rosters are from 2009. Does this mean all stats and future performances are determined based on stats from 2009 and before? No, it's just players are rated as they were in 2009, the game incorporates those ratings and has variables (potential, age, etc) that affects those ratings. So while you may see a young prospect that turned into a stud that was around in 2009, doesn't mean that prospect will turn into the same player as in real life because of the computer generated variables. From what I've seen, it's just an online version of Baseball Mogul if your familiar with that at all.
  5. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 06:06 PM) Sweet Jebus, that must have been a thrilling first half if it's 25-20 in the second half. Apparently we can't shoot well vs these lesser teams. Just pull out the W.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Big Russ, you accidentally picked Cincinnati, so I moved you to Texas for you. Yea didn't realize we were doing AL teams only first, no problem at all.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) Anyone work in administration for a university? Recently had some interesting discussions with a recruiter at a prominent university about potentially joining one... Interesting, in what capacity? (if you can reveal any more details).

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 10:15 AM) Probably not until late 2014 I REALLY wish Martin didn't waste so much time with book 4.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Rooted and installed Nova launcher on the Kindle Fire I got. It just got so much better... Interesting, may have to look into that. I wasn't going to mess with my FireHD but it does bog down occasionally and the interface, while easy, can get annoying to maneuver through.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Jesus f***ing Christ, are you serious? He's not the only one, my manager cancelled a team outing to see Batman because of the shooting. With the recent rash of gun attacks, you can't blame people for being cautious, especially because they are popping up in such public places.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) I'm going tomorrow. You'll be fine. Also, apparently Obama was crying during his statement. Not surprised, he has two fairly young daughters. I would imagine most parents are holding back tears today.
  12. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) I call that Vaguebooking for sympathy. Post various but vague status, I.E: Prepare for onslaught of fake sympathy, and aww, what's wrong? Best thing I've seen on Facebook is a parent replying to the hundreds of well-wishes and stories about their son passing away the other day. No way could they have heard all those stories anyway else, so that was awesome to see.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) Motherf***er killed both of his parents. Holy s***. f***ed up. Just f***ed.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) No kidding. Social media has made people more helpless somehow IMO, when there should be ways to find others like you for a support system. Don't want to go on too much of a tangent, but social media is just a diary that others read. If you claim you're depressed, people just say "aww, sorry. here's some fake encouragement." No one actually acts on statements like that, they don't report it at all, or seek help for that individual. I'm not saying people are obligated to do that, just saying social media isn't used how it could be used.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) I'd say this is him https://twitter.com/Ryan__Lanza If it isn't, someone needs to check in on that person, he is clearly f***ed up.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) In my head all of those places became jumbled into Cairo, Egypt. Especially with DWD. While many of them are fairly close to each other geographically and therefore may have many of the same themes, they all have very different personalities/characteristics to the cities to make them pretty distinct.
  17. Guns should be legal, but ownership rules should be strict and actually enforced well. It should probably be made a federal law that background checks are mandatory for gun ownership. That said, people who do this stuff will get their hands on a gun or some weaponry to do this type of damage still.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) They have a much harder time in the future seasons with Astapor, Yunaki, Lys, Meereen etc. Also we havent seen Braavos yet to the depths that we will. Luckily for them many of those places had a decent amount of description to them, but they are all pretty unique cities and need to be treated as such.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) Its going to get more difficult as the territory expands, but for now its been pretty awesome. I like how the intro coincides with what areas they've covered. Very much so, the intro is beautifully done, between the graphics and the song it sets the stage for the show extremely well. I read the books on Kindle, and the first versions they had didn't include the maps, so it was hard to tell where they were talking about. Showing the world map like they do gives the viewers a much better understanding of what is going on where.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Harrenhal, is that the place that Arya was taken after she escaped Kings Landing? Where she became the servant girl? QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) Yes. Supposed to be the largest castle in the kingdom. Yea. I just had it pictured differently in my mind. They did a decent job of it still.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) Can you imagine being a parent of a kid on lockdown just waiting to hear if they were one of the victims? f***ing horrible. Nope, don't even have kids and I feel like puking from the thought. I also can't imagine being the officer telling the parents, or the SWAT members finding the bodies. So many people are going to be affected by this.
  22. This is just awful, hearing about how the death total rose as the SWAT teams found kids shot in multiple rooms that they were clearing is just awful.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) I have really been impressed with how it looks like a movie as opposed to a tv series They definitely have done a great job with the imagery and have not backed down because budget. Almost every place they have "created" has been fairly accurate to what I imagined it to look like (except for Harrenhal, quite different from what I imagined).
