  1. Ayo must HATE THT. There is no reason or logic to this. Brad and staff just let Ayo dictate things, will see how that works out now. I have such a love/hate relationship with recruiting, wish I could stop following it.
  2. It sure is sounding like THT to Illinois, still not sure what the severity is of Ayo's camp stance is. There's hope, but I wouldn't be surprised by either direction at this point.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 07:09 PM) ISU thinks they are getting THT as well, but who knows. All 3 of his top three feel really good, he's been sending out good vibes to everyone today. But there has been a lot of smoke around Illinois for him, and the staff is going a bit crazy trying to smooth waters between him and Ayo. This is such an Illinois thing, get a 5 star kid and there is major drama after the commitment...
  4. QUOTE (Da_Goob @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 06:55 PM) It would look worse for Ayo to decommit with all the stuff he talked about last week after his commitment. I don't think Illinois is picking one or the other, they're trying to get both and if Ayo leaves it's basically on him. You can't let a recruit dictate who you go after, especially if it's not a top 5 pick in the NBA type guy. There's still some time to make things okay. We'll see. THT still might not even commit to Illinois Quite frankly, the staff would get killed if they lose Ayo in one week. They cannot afford the PR hit, they can't comment on it and Ayo can, they would lose.
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) I've heard the rumored beef, but Irvin did say that they have no beef with each other and THT did follow Ayo on twitter if that means anything lol. Not sure if you are a scout insider but yea, there's beef still. Piper and Snow have been feeding info all day.
  6. Ugh, I HATE CPL recruiting. It's such a big thing for Illinois but the drama and craziness that comes with it is exhausting. THT announcing Thursday, at this point Illinois has to choose between him and Ayo (how awful would that look to lose him) or hope Jesus comes down and makes everything ok.
  7. Ha I laughed at the Tilmon line as well, but he flashed his potential as well. Really that's a good start for him considering it was an exhibition vs KU.
  8. Okoro and Liddell are so important next year, and I don't think we were really players for either of them without getting a guy like Ayo. Now, I think we have legit shots at them, and that's huge. Beating out Mizzou for Liddell will be tough though, they are recruiting him hard.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) It's come back into vogue because Kim Jong-Un called him that a few weeks back. Fair enough, maybe it's mainstream enough that people are making the connection.
  10. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 09:13 AM) dotard [doh-terd] noun a person, especially an old person, exhibiting a decline in mental faculties; a weak-minded or foolish old person. From dictionary.com Yea, I looked it up, that doesn't mean it doesn't have an innuendo.
  11. Super stoked to land a kid like Ayo, not only a great player from the CPL and a game changer, but he seems like a really good kid as well. Not sure how this helps with recruiting this class though, most of the top targets are already elsewhere. THT is still a huuuuuge stretch at this point, there's a chance but it's not really likely at this point. Beyond that, they have BPJ that could be helped with this move, but not too many other top targets are left in the fall. Will be interesting to see who they pick up interest in during the spring as well. I do think this helps a TON for 2019.
  12. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 08:21 AM) What's wrong with dotard? The definition is an old person who has become weak and senile. That pretty much perfectly describes Trump. I thought it was used as a combination of his name and a derogatory word, similar to libtard.
  13. I hate Trump, but is Dotard really necessary? Not too mention super hypocritical.
  14. John Dunsworth, aka Mr. Lahey in Trailer Park Boys, RIP.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) MU and Kansas are going to scrimmage for hurricane relief fundraising next sunday. Lame that it's not a regular season game, would be an awesome game if it meant something (and could probably raise more money).
  16. Valtonen to ASU, Illinois is now 0-5 on top targets. Ayo visiting this weekend, lots of good vibes but my confidence is shaken.
  17. QUOTE (Quin @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 03:37 PM) Mizzou vs KU Border War is back In football? Thought there were talks about an exhibition game for basketball (not sure why they wouldn't just do a regular season game). And it will be one of the few times I'll root for Kansas.
  18. Big Mouth was pretty good, definitely had some good laughs and quotes.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 6, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) Long way to go, and depending on what happens may be quite a few transfers that open up. So many guys that are "committed" now are going to open up again before they sign. Besides this kid from Finland (who is supposed to be pretty darn good), their top targets list is already gone. They have some time and of course the spring to find late bloomers, but there's good reason to be concerned right now. I will say, I am super excited to see the Martin vs Underwood results over the next 4 years. It's going to be a really interesting case study.
  20. It's been a rough recruiting season for the staff, if they get Ayo a lot of the of pain goes away but at this point I don't think the confidence the insiders have on this one is as solid as once thought. I think Ayo wants to be the man but not the only guy in the class.
  21. QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 12:59 PM) I agree. However, as someone said, and I'm not sure which politician is was, any reasonable restrictions (short of a ban) would not have prevented this guy from obtaining legal weapons, unless you penalize him for his father's crimes. I think restrictions are reasonable, but I I'm sure if any ones used anywhere would have prevented this. The fact that they won't even have the discussion on it is ridiculous, or see the need for a discussion. Other countries have implemented gun laws and saw benefits from them, I'm not saying that they would all work here but we should at least discuss, investigate, and try to make an impact, because we've all seen what doing nothing does.
  22. What angers me about republican officials (and no it's not all) is that so many immediately came out and said that no legislation was or should be in review after these attacks. Both Ryan and McConnell said this, and it frustrates me to no end that the attacks are getting larger, but they still refuse to see if there is something they can do at a legislative level to help fix the issue. And most of those responses I don't feel are genuine, I mean how can any elected official, especially at a federal level, think that they don't have any say in changing a s***ty status quo. I really feel that these politicians are hand strung by their republican voters to keep the status quo on gun law, just from the fear that any change would impact freedoms. So off we go into the same cycle.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 12:20 PM) Damn, I just found a video from my hotel during the shooter false alarm panic. Pretty sure I can see me ducking down behind a card table, gave me the chills. Man that is creepy.
