I heard about this on the radio. That is total and utter bulls***.

I wish nothing but the best for Sandy. I liked him before he was with the Sox, while he was with the Sox and I still like the dude.

My family didn't do family vacations when I was growing up, unless going to Brookfield Zoo or the museums count. Brian and I take vacations to follow minor league hockey and we are planning a weekend in November to go to a football game at either NC State (if hockey is back so I can see the Canes), Michigan State or Iowa State.

It figures for the first 2-3 innings I was able to follow the game and then when the game gets good, the damn phone and email go nutz. f***ing customers lol.

The way I was taught in grammar school was...how do I word this... that we pray to the saints to get them to go to bat for us to get God's help, so to speak. We aren't praying for them to heal/help us, but that they intercede on our behalf to God...that sounds clumsy, but I can't think of a better wording. I don't know if all Catholic grammar schools taught that way, but that is how mine did. Heck, maybe my school was doing a snow job on us when explaining that lol.

I guess it is a good thing I rarely buy anything in the city anymore (gas, groceries and most other items are bought in the surounding suburbs). Good think I live a block from the surburbs and work in the burbs as well lol.

I think a mix of the two is needed. There are too many companies where the employees are absolutely miserable and therefore don't give 100%. If employers treated their employees more like people and less like slaves, production would be up (which generally means profits increase as well). I will try to verbalize better a little later, but this is something (bosses being mentors/guiders as well as an in-charge person - someone has to make the decisions lol) I do strongly believe in after working in a hostile (very hostile) environment at my last job. I still don't know how my boss didn't kill his boss.

I didn't think much of hockey until Brain started taking me to games. After a few games I was hooked.

Got some kickass news yesterday - my aunt and uncle will be able to attend my wedding (they live in Ireland) and my aunt thinks my other aunt and her husband will be able to make it as well (also live in Ireland - lived in England for the last 10 years or so though).

We were a little nervous about going to work today. We lost power for 2 or 3 hours last night and were afraid that the power would go out again and the little rat bastards would get cooked. So far the answering machine is picking up so we power has not gone out yet today. (crossing fingers)
