Queen Prawn replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Paulie's run up a 7 pitch at bat so far -
QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) You know what sucks, I was watching the CELL last night and every Scout seat was empty for that Tigers game. Ridiculous! I was just gonna post that!

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) WGN radio reporting that Nomar's groin muscle was completely ruptured. Surgury likely. Out at least 3 months. What causes something like this? Would there have had to be a weakness prior to whatever he did in the batter's box? for him

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) I'm glad that kid was stupid enough to leave a "death list" in his/her locker. I wish they'd all leave warning signals, and I wish all the warning signals would be picked up in time. I agree. Problem is that there are signals (more often than not) and no one pays attention to them. Columbine is the perfect example of this.

Guillen: Buehrle rates more pub than 2 Cubs

Now I understand the barb Wolf had against the Sox this morning on 97.9. I still can't stand him and don't believe he is a Sox fan for a minute either. -
I never ask Brian if I look fat in something unless I am in a bantering mood. I've got eyes and a mirror in our room, why do I need to ask him something that would be readily obvious?

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) Hell I went to a Wolves game several years ago and front row seats were on $27....one huge difference you notice between the AHL and NHL is the SPEED...AHL looked like they are in slow motion compared to the NHL. There were a ton of good fights though hehe Yeah - we did that in the fall. Brian's brother got tickets he couldn't use so he gave them to us - they were about 4-5 rows from the ice and I think they were about the $27 (or a little less). Good fights -> playoffs between the Griffins and the Wolves a few years back - even the goalies got in on it.

I am glad that after doing well at the HHH Metrodome, they came home and got the wins (last year I think they won at HHH and then lost to the Twinks at home).

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:29 AM) Last I knew Wirtz was charging $250 for front row seats.... And if you go to a AA Hockey game in Toledo (okay, this was 2 years ago lol), seats in the front row went for between 15 and 20 bucks. Toledo and Cincy always played kick ass games. Not too much of this: , just damn good hockey for AA.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) For anyone that's been to the memorial, it's a pretty moving place. My aunt was traveling for work when she saw it. She choked up the first time she talked about it with me.

Go to hear justice is being served somewhere.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) FWIW, the priest that married my wife and I knew that we were co-habitating prior to our wedding (the obvious implication being pre-marital sex) and had absolutely no problem with it. They offer pre-cana for couples that co-habitate (Brian and I are looking at take that pre-cana instead of the standard one).

I am glad that some of the women posting at another site I post at don't post here. There would be WWIII in this thread.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Ok, I'll bite. Pope Benedict is known as one of the largest advocates for traditional Catholic dogmatic teaching. This man is extremelly popular amongst the Cardinals and is admired for his intellegence, piety, kindness and so on. Could he have been elected by the Cardinals to guide the church during a time of much strife and interpretation, or was it, he was elected Holy Father and head of the Catholic Church to serve as "a stop gap in the vatican until one of the younger guys gets some experience under him?" I'm done playing now. Don't even bother responding. No offense, but what he said is what other Cardinals said before the Conclave. It isn't disrespectful, it is a fact. So I assume you have issues with the Cardinals as well? Oh and please don't tell me what to do. I am really not sure what your problem is, but it isn't a disrespect to the new Pope. As I noted previously, if he was good enough to be Pope JPII's advisor for so many years, I have faith that things will be okay (ie he will be a good Pope).

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) Surely you're joking? This isn't the NFL draft. We aren't grooming quarterbacks here. The man is the leader of the Catholic Church. I simply can't believe the class some of you have shown in this thread. To joke about sports is one thing, to joke about religion is quite another. /remembers why I never spend time in this forum. Shame on me. What was so horrible about what he said? Several Cardinals said the same thing?

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Back in Black would be awesome too. But Thunderstruck is good too. Ditto that. Everytime I hear Back in Black I think of the White Sox though.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Many of the top candidates from developing countries were very young, the exception being Arinze at 72. But that may still be younger than they wanted. With Ratzinger, they have chosen someone who will put things in order inside the Church while they decide on a direction, but who won't dominate the Church for decades. Exactly - this was known almost immediately after Pope JPII died. Not sure why this is such a big surprise to people. With this in mind as well as Pope JPII had him as an advisor for so many years gives me some hope that things will be okay.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) There is no video from inside. There will not be any hint of who it is until he walks out onto the balcony. I know and that is what I am talking about (trying to type fast and dial mom at the same time lol).

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) According to wbbm radio, the Pope is being fitted with his new robes right now. I hope NBC or someone has live video going (it stinks being stuck at work)>

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) I can't really describe what I feel right now. I'm not Catholic, but this is a MOMENT in history. I am Catholic (and actually started going to mass again) and I can't explain what I feel either!
